Friday Fun Friend Card from Crackerbox Palace

It's Crackerbox Palace Friday and toay I am sharing a card I made recently with some fun stamps from Crackerbox Palace. One of the reasons I love designing with CBP stamps is their huge selection of laugh out loud stamps. I love using humor in the cards I make and hope the recipients enjoy it too.
To make this card, I started with a Tim Holtz embossing folder that reminds me of what a cracked egg mess would look like. I find I am using washi tape more and more in my cards. It is such an easy and fun embellishment to use. I stamped and cut out the egg and raised it with a pop dot onto the brown diamond piece. Then I stamped the perfect sentiment to complete the card.
I like how it turned out and hope you do too. Please visit the website to see these and many other awesome Crackerbox Palace stamps.
I am entering this card in the Anything Goes challenges at Through the Craftroom Door and Simon Says Stamp.

Party Time Tuesday and Celebrate the Occasion Challenges

Anything Goes at Party Time Tuesday this week and at Celebrate the Occasion they want to see Butterflies. I am sharing another Color Me Toppers card (Paper Wishes). These are lovely embossed card fronts with sentiments and embellishments available. I simply used sponges and die inks to color the butterflies and sentiment piece and attached the front to a card. I added a few pearls to complete the card.

What If? Wed. Sketch Challenge

It's time for another fun sketch challenge at The House that Stamps Built and we are challenging you to make a card using the sketch below and link it up for a chance at some great Repeat Impressions rubber! For all the details on what you can win and to see the other Rock Stars cards using this sketch, please visit our blog.

I used the fun “Moosage from Me” stamp to make this card. I started with a couple strips of grey washi tape on a white card base. I stamped the moose and his message multiple times on the new two square layers and one time on the focal point piece. I framed that piece with black so it stands out.

Here is the sketch for you to follow when you create a card for our challenge. You do not need to use Repeat Impressions stamps to enter our challenges, but you get an extra chance to win if you do!

I am entering this card in the challenge at Created with Love for at least 3 layers and the Anything Goes challenge at Fitztown Challenges.

Raisin Boat and Cards for Men Challenges

Father's Day is the theme at Raisin Boat Challenges this month, and at Cards for Men, they want to see our cards for Dad. I had fun creating this CAS card for Father's Day. The shirt is simply three white pieces with rounded corners and a space between them that looks like suspenders. The bow tie is a stamp from Stampin' Up that I stamped on red paper and cut out. The sentiment is stamped on red and punched out with a SU punch.

I cut three holes with a square die and stamped the pup in each window. I paper pieced the bottom pup with brown paper. The sentiment was stamped, cut out with deckle scissors and sponged with black ink. I added a couple paw prints to complete the card.

I am entering this card in the Anything Goes challenge at Wags ‘n Whiskers.

Silhouette Sunday Featuring Silhouettes

I love my Silhouette die cutting machine and I also love using silhouette images on my cards. This kitty cat Father's Day card is for my DH as he loves our kitty and the color orange. I started with the scalloped circle shapes that are the featured shapes for this week's Weekly Shape Challenge at the Silhouette Blog. I then cut the kitty silhouette and the banner sentiment tag, all cutting files from the Silhouette store. I stamped the sentiment and added some pearls and washi tape to complete the card.

I love this silhouette love card I created with more cutting files from the Silhouette store. I started with a shades of blue paper I created with a file from Silhouette. I cut raindrops in the top part of that background. The couple smooching under an umbrella was cut out in black and also in a rainbow stripe that I created with the Fill Gradient Option. I used the umbrella part in the rainbow colors and decided to layer the rest of the rainbow image just behind the black silhouette couple. I created a rectangle in my drawing area and filled it with the same rainbow colors and then cut out the love die (from W Plus 9.)

I am entering this card in the "To Die For" challenge at Polkadoodles.

My Heart Pieces and Addicted to Stamps Challenges

Anything Goes this week at Addicted to Stamps and at My Heart Pieces, they want us to use a sentiment. I am sharing a card I made with a a product from Paper Wishes called Color Me Card Toppers. The whole front of this card and the sentiment piece are parts of this kit, and I chose to sponge in the colors you see on the card with various dye inks. I attached the card front to a white card base and added a pearl to complete the card. I love how it turned out and it was so easy.

Through the Craftroom Door and Moving Along with the Times Challenges

Embossing is the theme at Moving Along with the Times this week and Anything Goes at Through the Craftroom Door.  I was inspired by this card on Splitcoast to make this sympathy card with a modern looking cross motif. There were no measurements given so I played around with some rectangle Nestabilities until they looked right. I started with a background embossed with the tulip border from Stampin' Up.

Happy Birthday to Vicky from Crackerbox Palace!

I know it is Tuesday and I usually blog for Crackerbox Palace on Friday, but today is Vicky Brigg's birthday and so I am moving up my blogging to today in honor of this special day! I have known Vicky for about a year now and what a fun year it has been! Vicky and John have been so generous and kind to me and I have had so much fun designing with their awesome stamps. I feel so blessed to have Vicky in my life and so I wanted to express that here.

I received this beautiful sentiment stamp as a gift from a dear friend for my birthday. It is just perfect for card makers and I sent this card (along with others) to Vicky for her birthday. I started with a two sided paper and cut a fun large border with my Silhouette and a Silhouette cutting file. I stamped the beautiful sentiment and cut that out with a Lifestyle Crafts die.

Happy Birthday Vicky - and here's to many more!

Challenges 4 Everybody and 613 Avenue Create Challenges

Anything Goes at 613 Avenue Create and Challenges 4 Everybody this week so I am choosing to share a recent card I made while playing with washi tape. I tried covering a button with the larger butterfly washi tape and also cut out a butterfly as an accent. I applied the tapes at an angle and then up the other way. I found it really hard to do that evenly with the washi tape, so I applied it to cardstock and trimmed, then applied to the front of the card. The sentiment is from a new favorite set by Technique Tuesday.

Flower Cards for Silhouette Sunday

Flower cards are sooo easy to make with the Silhouette! I am fascinated with the positives and negatives of each die and played with them for this card I am entering in the Weekly Shape Challenge at the Silhouette Blog.  We have several options this week to use for their challenge. There is a neat border set we could use, or the free shapes offered this week by Silhouette - this circle Thanks or a vacation sentiment. I chose to design with the circle Thanks. It was a plain circle that I could have cut with any paper, but I decided to play with the "Fill Gradient" feature and added some fun purple lines before cutting it out. There are many many options of patterns and colors to choose, then you print it and cut it. I am a rookie yet, but was very proud of myself and happy when I figured this out! The card base is white, and I cut the floral shape out on a dark purple and light purple. I embossed the darker purple piece with more flowers, punched out a circle in the corner and layered the flowers together. I added a couple flower gems to complete the card.

My second card this week is also a Thank You card featuring two beautiful cutting files from the Silhouette Store. I simply cut the rose in red, and cut the border of the white card. Then I layered the same red under the Thanks border. Simple but beautiful.

Lilacs are my favorite spring flower of all time. I absolutely adore their scent and wish they lasted much longer than they do. My lilac bushes are budding and I can't wait until I can enjoy the look and scent of them in full bloom. I had to buy the lilac cutting file and a pretty vase to put them in. I cut the vase out of a gold patterned paper and backed it with a  black piece.  I cut the lilacs twice and embossed the purple flowers to add some texture. I also embossed and corner rounded the white card base.

I am entering these last two cards in the Flower Power challenge at Simon Says Stamp and the Anything Goes challenge at Silhouette Challenges.

I cut three blue pennants, layered them and embossed the whole bottom piece with my Swiss Dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I added a ribbon and some doodling to complete the card.

My second card is a tri-fold card with three sweet colored digis from Dollar Graphics Depot and some incredible sentiments from Technique Tuesday. Here is what the other two parts look like:

Crackerbox Palace Friday

It's Crackerbox Palace Friday today and I am sharing a card I made recently with some beautiful stamps from Crackerbox Palace. You may have noticed I am a day later than I normally blog for Crackerbox Palace. We have changed the schedule and you can expect to find me blogging here every Friday with a card or two from CBP.
I fell in love with this gorgeous seagull and water image the first time I saw Vicky coloring it. There is no way I can color as beautifully as she can, so I am showing you a different way to use this image. I embossed the scene with black embossing powder, stamped the sentiment and then sponged with various inks. I masked the moon and left the seagull and sentiment uncolored to highlight them. I like how it turned out and hope you do too. Please visit the website to see these and many other awesome Crackerbox Palace stamps.
I am entering this card in the No Digis challenge at Charisma Cardz and Shelly’s Images challenge to “Show us what you got.”

Crop Stop and Through the Craftroom Door Challenges

Embossing is the theme at Crop Stop's National Scrapbook Day Challenge and Anything Goes at Through the Craftroom Door.  I use embossing folders all the time and this card has even more embossing than usual. The yellow paper I made the card with was embossed when I bought it, and the wheels of the baby carriage were cut and embossed with a Spellbinders die. I had seen a similar baby carriage on Pinterest and had fun making one of my own. The handle of the carriage is a flourish die and the bow is a Silhouette die. Of course the whole carriage itself started out as a large scalloped nesties die and I embossed it with my first and still all time favorite embossing folder, Swiss Dots by Cuttlebug. The white ruffles are a Martha Stewart border punch. I made this card for a class member who was expecting and we had a "card shower" for her at the last class meeting in my home. Unfortunately she was too busy to make it- she was delivering her baby 6 weeks early!  She and the baby are doing fine and she has now received her bag of cards from all of us.

Challenges 4 Everybody and Sentimental Sunday Challenges

Anything Goes (always) at Challenges 4 Everybody, and at Sentimental Sundays they want to see a card for a special woman (with a sentiment.) I picked up a cute Disney set at JoAnns a while ago and it had not been inked yet, so I used Minnie to make this funny card for a special woman. The sentiment (from DRS) cracks me up and would do the same for most of the women I know. I paper pieced Minnie's dress and bow to match the diamonds in the background, popped her up with pop dots and added some doodling to frame her.

Stamp of the Week at Repeat Impressions

The stamp of the week this week at Repeat Impressions is this awesome Goddess stamp, and it is available this week only for 50% off with the discount code found at Repeat Impressions blog. What a deal! Please visit the blog for all the details and to see the other Rock Star's cards using this stamp.

I tried a new technique on this card where you cut only half of a die while embossing the whole thing. If you place the glass plate over just half of the die, the part that is not covered will not cut. I learned how to do the technique here. I stamped the Goddess on off white cardstock and cut her out. I stamped the sentiment on the same paper and rounded the edges. I added a piece of the same paper to the inside and punched the corners and added some embossed butterflies to complete the card.

I am entering this card in the Girly Girl challenge at Jellypark Friends and the Anything Goes challenge at Crafty Catz.

Silhouette Sunday Celebrations

It's Silhouette Sunday and I am sharing some projects I made with my Silhouette machine and Silhouette America cutting files for celebrations. First up is a retirement card I made for my stamping sister Barb. The chair is a die cut from Silhouette and so is the Enjoy! I stamped the sand and sunset with stamps from a set by Raisin Boat. I also made this sign for Barb's celebration:

Spring is also a time for celebrating Graduations. I love to make graduation cards in the school colors of the graduate and almost always give money as their gift. Here is a graduation card I made in just a few minutes with a card cutting file from Silhouette America. I learned how to make the tassle here.

I am entering these cards in the Anything Goes challenges at Crafty Catz and Annabelle Stamps.

I have one more celebrations card to share and I have used the weekly shape for the challenge at the Silhouette blog. This doily making set by Samantha Walker was on my wish list so I purchased it with the credit I have from my monthly subscription. What a deal- I can get $25 worth of cutting files for just $8 a month (on sale.) Even "full price" of 99 cents is a huge bargain, but now I am getting my files for a third of that!! Here is the card I made for the Weekly Shape Challenge:

I kept it simple to highlight the beautiful doilies-black and white, a couple gems and flowers and a sentiment cut out with my Silhouette.

And speaking of celebrations, Happy Mother's Day to all Mothers and Grandmothers and special ladies out there!

Moving Along with the Times and Shelley's Images Challenges

CAS is the theme this week at Moving Along with the Times and Kids are the theme at Shelley's Images. I love making cards for kids that are CAS (Clean and Simple). I still want them to be unique (or you-nique:) and fun, but CAS cards are my favorite. In this case I just stamped the little boy swinging silhouette (from Close to My Heart) and the You-nique sentiment (older from TAC) on a piece of dp and rounded the corners. The dark blue piece was an embossed cardstock and that too had rounded corners. I attached both to a white card and added some blue liquid pearls to complete the card.

Crackerbox Palace Funny Sentiment Stamps

It's Crackerbox Palace Friday and today I am sharing a card I made recently with Crackerbox Palace’s funny sentiment stamps and my Silhouette Portrait electronic cutting machine. Crackerbox Palace has tons of lol funny stamps – check them out of their website here.
You may have noticed I am a day later than I normally blog for Crackerbox Palace. We have changed the schedule and you can expect to find me posting new Crackerbox Palace cards every Friday.
I love using humor in my cards, especially when the punch line inside the card cracks up the person receiving the card. The front of this card is all beautiful and serious with a lovely butterfly cut out using a Silhouette America digital cutting file. The designer paper is two sided, so I flipped the butterfly to the yellow side and attached with some pearls. Under the hole created by the butterfly, I layered washi tape and some more pearls. I stamped the Best Friends sentiment on the front and finished it on the inside on the same designer paper:

Unless you are too young to understand, this CPB sentiment surely put a smile on your face. I am entering this card in the Anything Goes challenge at Paper Crafting Journey and the Things with Wings challenge at Simon Says Stamp.

It's a Big Week at Repeat Impression's Blog!

We are having so much fun this week here and at Repeat Impression’s blog! Tomorrow is a big celebration of RI’s new stamp collection called Pairings, so be sure to stop back to see the new awesome stamps and many chances to win!

Today is the beginning of another Designer’s Choice Challenge at The House that Stamps Built, Repeat Impression’s blog. It’s Joy’s turn and she is challenging the team and you to make a masculine card.  Any card for a man or boy would be great! After you make your card, you can enter it for a chance to win some awesome Repeat Impressions rubber! Please visit the blog for all the details and to see the other Rock Star's cards for this DCC challenge.

I love this classic car from Repeat Impressions and decided to go classic with the colors as well. I stamped the classic car and perfect sentiment in black and cut out with a die from Spellbinders. The white background was embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder and aged just a bit.

I am entering this card in the For the Boys challenge at Digi Sketch Challenge.

Fun with Washi Tape for Challenges

The challenge at CAS-ual Fridays this week for their 100th challenge is Tic Tac Toe, and I chose text, black and white and punches and/or dies. I cut an oval with my Spellbinders oval die and created a  background with a variety of grey washi tapes. I stamped and cut out the sentiment, then embossed the whole black background with an embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I cut out the flowers twice with a Memory Box die and placed them inside the oval to complete the CAS card.

Here is another CAS Thinking of You card featuring washi tape. This one will be entered in the Embossing and Texture challenge at Stamping Sensations. It is full of texture, as I was playing with embossing, punching and stamping on washi tape. This floral embossing folder is also a new one from Cuttlebug. I embossed the first layer of peach cardstock, then embossed the center strip with a line of washi tape in the same center area of the embossing folder. I attached that strip raising it with pop dots so that the floral pattern matched. I attached the same striped washi tape to some cardstock pieces and punched out the butterfly and the sentiment window. I added some pearls to complete the card.

Crafting With Dragonflies and Challenges 4 Everybody

I created this dragonfly card to enter in the very first challenge at Crafting with Dragonflies, which is a new challenge blog started by my team mate and buddy, Hilde. As the name suggests, the first challenge is to create a project with a dragonfly on it. Hilde drew the beautiful butterfly digital stamp on my card and it is available to you for free on the blog.  I am always amazed at other's ability to draw anything and Hilde is very talented in that way. I printed the dragonfly twice and raised the upper wings made of velum. The scalloped dragonfly circle is a cutting file from The Silhouette Store. I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with a window punch from Stampin' Up.

I am also entering this card in the Anything Goes challenge at Challenges 4 Everybody.

Silhouette Sunday

Today I am showing a couple Christmas cards I made with my new Silhouette electronic die cutting machine. The challenge this week at As You Like It is to use our favorite dies or punches in "our style" and I can say with complete honesty that my favorite dies now are the die cutting digital files from The Silhouette Store. This beautiful card front was made with a cutting file that cost 50 cents (on sale last week but normally it costs only 99 cents!)  I can size it any way I want and cut out of any paper I want. I chose white and backed it up with green and blue for the contrast. The side was punched with a Martha Stewart punch and I added some red gems to complete the CAS card- which is my style. The sentiment is from CTMH and continues on the inside and is so true!

Anything Goes (as long as it is Christmas) at Crimbo Crackers this week, so I am entering the following card in their challenge:

I just love snowflakes as long as they are made of paper- not the real stuff that we had way too much of here in Wisconsin. At least we missed out on the foot or more of snow my family got in Western Wisconsin and Minnesota yesterday!! I cut three snowflakes from the same cutting file on a white piece of card stock. I also cut the joy out with a regular diecut from W Plus 9. I layered that piece on a navy blue card after I added a pretty ribbon from Stampin' Up. I used the cut out snowflake as a layer on the snowflake in the lower right and the O in Joy and added some gems to complete the card.

Last but not least, I am sharing a card I made for the Weekly Shape Challenge at the Sihouette Blog. I just discovered this new challenge and already had the fun pennant and bird set from Miss Kate in my library. You get 6 pennants and the line of birds (which is my favorite) for 99 cents! The challenge is to use this set creatively and link to their blog for a chance to win a credit for more downloads from their store. So I played with the birds and pennants and came up with this card. I decided the birds were singing Happy Birthday to You and of course I cut out the letters and musical note with my Silhouette too. The cloud embossing folder is from Stampin' Up.

Happy Father's Day (From the Kids) at SAS4Kids!

It’s Saturday and time for another fun challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids! This time our challenge is Happy Father’s Day (From the Kids.)  Create and link any card appropriate for a Dad from a child (it does not have to say Happy Father’s Day on it, but it sure can), and you could win one of our great prizes.

We have three very generous sponsors this week: Milk Coffee Stamps is giving their winner 5 digis of their choice! And Bugaboo is giving their randomly picked winner 7 digital images of their choice! Robyn’s Fetish’s winner will receive 2 digis of their choice!  TEAM S.A.S will also be choosing their favorite cards for our top three and the winners will receive a blog badge and an opportunity to be a guest design team member on a future challenge.

I just love the little boy dressing up like Dad in my first card above. He is called "Just Like Dad" and is a digital stamp from Milk Coffee Stamps. Isn't he sweet? I paper pieced his outfit and briefcase and colored the rest with my Copics. I think he wants to follow in Dad's footprints, so I used an embossing folder from Spellbinders as a background, highlighting the footprints with ink. I cut the front white piece and attached it with pop dots to raise. The sentiment is a digi from Digi Darla's.

My second card features a super cute digital set by Bugaboo. I embossed the peanuts to look like the real thing and paper pieced the rest. I cut apart the sentiment with my deckle scissors and cut the hole in the blue piece with a circle die by Spellbinders. I added some hand drawn lines and a baker's twine tie to complete the card.

I am entering these cards in the "For the Boys" challenge at Delicious Doodles and the challenge at Stampin' for the Weekend to use dies or punches.
