Happy Halloween Booogie Nights Card

Happy Halloween everyone! I am posting my last Halloween card that my bff should have received by now. I created a galaxy sky using Jennifer McGuire's technique for the spooky background on this card. Then I die cut and attached Tonic Studio's skeleton and "Booogie Nights" and added some bats die cut with dies from Impression Obsession and Karen Burniston.

Part Three of my Fun Folds with Gina K and Therm O Web Series on YouTube

I had so much fun designing fun fold Christmas cards with the new Fancy Foils and Foil-Mates by Gina K and Therm O Web that I made three videos for my YouTube channel! The video that posted today here shares how to make a pop up z-fold card and another technique for distressed cracked foiled elements. Here are a couple more pictures of this fun pop up card:

The card folds flat to fit into an A2 envelope and the foiled ornaments stand up on acetate strips. Be sure to watch the video here to find out how to make this card and get the links to all the products used.

Wish Big Masculine Birthday Card

I played with a spattered blend of glimmer mist and pearlex powders on black backgrounds for the card I posted yesterday and today. Yesterday's spatters were all the same color, but on today's card I did a mix of several colors and am loving how it turned out. I die cut a pine tree shape and used it to frame a Clear Views picture from The Mark-It Place. I attached a "Wish Big" die cut from Papertrey and dotted the i's with yellow pearls. The pine tree shape that I cut out of the front made a perfect accent on the inside of the card as shown here:

Foiled Autumn Sparkle and Shine with Gina K and Therm O Web

I wish I could show you this card in real life because it is impossible to capture the sparkle of both the background and the foiled leaves in still pictures. I mixed some glimmer mist with some Pearlex powder and spattered the mix on a black card front for the lovely background on this card. Then I stamped Penny Black's Filigree Foliage Leaves stamps with Versamark on some fall colored scraps of cardstock. I poured some fine detail embossing powder on them and heat set them with a heat gun. Did you know that embossing powder will melt in a laminator and so you can foil any stamped image with any of the gorgeous foils from Therm O Web? I used my two of my favorites Fancy Foils from Gina K and Therm O Web: Radiant Red and Gold Sequin. Any foil is beautiful, but I especially love the ones that glitter and sparkle when the card is moved like these two. Here is a closeup view:

I just love all that sparkle and shine! I also used a Gina K Therm O Web Birthday Essentials Foil-Mate foiled with the Radiant Red Fancy Foil for the sentiment popped up in the center of the card.

Kindness Sunshine Pop Up Card with NBUS

I am having fun designing cards with new stamps and dies that were "never before used schtuff." I created this card with a Concord and 9th Sunshine Turnabout stamp and four different colors of bright dye inks. All the lines meet in the center of the card front so I thought it would be fun to pair this stamp with the Pop Out Die from Kat Scrappiness I found here.  The die cuts the pop out and scores the lines so the center opens like this:

Isn't that cool? The sentiment is from the same Sunshine Turnabout set from Concord & 9th.

Easy and Elegant Foiled Modified Tri-Shutter Christmas Card YouTube Video- Take Two

I had so much fun designing with the new Gina K and Therm O Web Fancy Foils and Foil-Mates recently that I made three different fun fold Christmas cards YouTube video tutorials. Today I have released the second YouTube video of this series and you can watch it here. This one shows how to make a much easier modified tri-shutter fold card that I learned how to do in Sandy Allnock's video here. The measurements are all even numbers and it is much easier to do than the traditional tri-shutter card as I show in the video. I also show how to make this gorgeous cracked distressed foiled poinsettia:

IRL(and on the video) it is even more beautiful and the Fancy Foil from Gina K and Therm O Web glitters as it is moved. Here are a couple more pictures of the card with it closed (to fit into an A2 envelope) and the back panel where you can sign or write a message:

I love fun folds and foiling so I had fun designing the cards in this series of YouTube videos. To learn how to make this easy version of a tri-shutter card and a new technique with foils, click on this link and watch the video. After you do, please consider leaving a positive comment, giving the video a thumbs up, sharing it to Pinterest or Facebook and becoming a subscriber if you are not already one. I appreciate your support both here on my blog and on my YouTube channel.

Happy Halloween with Dies and Gelatos

I played with gelatos at a recent stamping play date and created the background of this card with a spider web stamp from Tim Holtz heat embossed and then used as a resist with black and purple gelatos. It seemed perfect for Halloween, so I added some spiders from Memory Box, a ghost from Karen Burniston and the Happy Halloween channel from Memory Box. It was a fun and easy card to make for one of my grandsons.

Playing with the Double Embossed Technique

I am revisiting a technique I was fascinated with over a year ago after I first saw a card on Melissa Kerman's blog using the technique. She now calls her technique "Impressions of Tarnished Foil" and we are going to collaborate on some YouTube videos using the technique in different ways for holiday cards. I pulled out some newer embossing folders, StazOn inks and embossing powders to play with and this is one of the cards I made. I used an embossing folder from WeR Memory Keepers and embossing powders from Ranger, Nuvo and Stampendous. The Stampendous embossing powders were the Aged Hunter and Aged Gold and have chunks in them resulting in the black dots on the background. I am not sure I like them? Not snow or stars, but maybe we can just say it is a mixed media look? I started with green, orange and brown StazOn inks on the aluminum foil. The "thinking of you" die is from Tonic Studios and the deer are from a new set called Winter Wonderland by Tim Holtz for Sizzix.

Stay tuned for a complete YouTube video tutorial on this awesome background technique.

Easy and Elegant Foiled Tri-Shutter Card with Gina K and Therm O Web YouTube Video

Yes, you read that right- I said easy tri-shutter card! Any card with foiling is elegant and gorgeous especially when I have used the new Fancy Foils and Foil-Mates from Gina K and Therm O Web. But the tri-shutter part was so easy as you will see in the video here, because all I needed to do was pull a scored and cut Funky Fold Accordian Card out of a package from The Paper Cut and do a few mountain and valley folds. In the video, I will also show you how to do the foiling using Gina K. Therm O Web foil and Foil-Mates. I know the recipient of this card will be so impressed and will be sure to display this stand up elegant Christmas card. Here is a view of the card when it is closed to send in an A2 envelope:

And here is a view of the gorgeous sparkly foiled elements on all the folds in this card:

It is so hard to capture the sparkle of the lovely new Fancy Foils from Gina K and Therm O Web in still photography, but you will see it better and also see how the card was put together when you watch the new video here.

This YouTube video is the first of three in this series showing you different ways to use elegant foiling on fun fold holiday cards. The next two videos in the series will be posted on the next two Mondays in October. Love Playing with New Inks and Stamps

I saw a card made with this Namaste stamp from Impression Obsession on a blog or Pinterest and absolutely had to find it and buy it. The message is so beautiful and inspiring. I attached a stencil I created with a leaf die from Stampendous onto a piece of kraft cardstock and sponged fall colors of Distress Oxide ink through it. Then I simply stamped this inspiring stamp in black ink, added some brown sequins and attached to a dark brown cardbase.

Thanks for helping me #share the joy of creativity.

Batty About You Halloween Card with Distress Oxide Background

At a recent play session with friends, we played with Tim Holtz's Distress Oxide inks and I made this fun background. I used the Soot Black Distress Oxide ink direct to paper covering it completely. Then I placed it in my Tim Holtz Tonic Studios Stamp Platform and sprayed water on a SU marble background stamp. I closed the platform so the water from the stamp removed some of the DO color and created this cool background. It is easy to do this with either stencils or stamps.

I layered the background on a gold card after stamping "batty about you" from IO. I added some die cut bats (also from IO) and a cute jack-o-lantern cut with a layering die from The Paper Cut. Here is a peak at the inside of the card:

The Happy Halloween die is from Tonic Studios. This non-scary Halloween card will be perfect for my youngest grandson! Thanks for helping me #share the joy of creativity!

Peace, Love and Joy CASED Bridge Card from My New YouTube Class Video

I posted a new Techniques and Tips Class video yesterday here on my YouTube channel where I teach how to make bridge cards in several different sizes. As I explain in the video, I learned how to make bridge cards from a blogpost here on Stampin' With Sandi, and because of her I had to buy the Stampin' Up Hometown Greetings Edgelit Die Set. I CASED much of her card, but used Nuvo Silver Glimmer Paste through a stencil and a different stamp set.  I also used several colors of my favorite Mirri Sparkle Card that I purchased at The Paper Cut. All the details on how to make this and two more bridge cards are on the video here and you can even qualify to win all three cards I made! Here are a couple more views of this card which will fit into an A2 envelope:

How to Make Holiday Bridge Cards YouTube Video

Today a new Cardmaking Techniques and Tips video has posted to my YouTube channel here showing how to make bridge cards in several different sizes. This larger Frozen inspired version is one of three cards I am showing how to make in the video. Don't you just love the Olaf and Elsa dies from Disney Character World as well as the famous saying from the Frozen movie? I believe that, indeed, some people are worth melting for!

I first learned how to make a bridge card from a wonderful blog post and video posted here at Stampin' with Sandi. I adapted her measurements to accommodate the larger size die in the middle and explain all that in my video here. Here is another look so you can see the "bridge" across the front of the folded card and also a look at all three cards I teach in the video:

My students pay to take my classes of course, but you can learn what they do for free and if you subscribe and comment and live in the U.S., you could even win all three cards yourself! For all the details on how to win them, come say hi here:  https://www.youtube.com/user/khasheck04

World Card Making Day Mood Board Challenge at Kat Scrappiness

I don't usually post twice in one day, but I guess an exception can be made for World Card Making Day:) Kat Scrappiness has a cool fall colored Mood Board and a challenge to post a card today and I made this shaker card for the challenge. It uses fall colors and leaves that are curled like real ones to reveal the shaker elements below them. The top picture shows the card "shaken up" and the bottom picture is the card standing up. The leaves stamps and dies are from Fun Stampers Journey and the "thankful" die is from Gina K.

On this day and everyday I am thankful for this creative passion I have found that brings me such joy and lets me share that joy with those who receive my cards and also those who learn from them on my blog and on YouTube. Thanks for helping me share the joy of creativity.

I am also entering this card in the Mood Board challenge at Victorine Stamps.

Distress Oxides Sponged Thinking of You

Lately I have needed so many Thinking of You cards so when I was playing with Tim Holtz's Distress Oxide inks, I created quite a few of this type of card. On this one, I started by sponging fall colors of Distress Oxide inks through a leaf stencil by Carta Bella. I also spattered a little of the same colors on the kraft background. I die cut a pretty leaf from Gina Marie out of dark red and cream, attached them together and stamped Thinking of You by Endless Creations.

I had an extra sunflower seed packet from our club challenge sitting here so I die cut another lovely leaf for the inside of my card.

Thanks for helping me share the joy of creativity!
