Silhouette Sunday

Today I am showing a couple Christmas cards I made with my new Silhouette electronic die cutting machine. The challenge this week at As You Like It is to use our favorite dies or punches in "our style" and I can say with complete honesty that my favorite dies now are the die cutting digital files from The Silhouette Store. This beautiful card front was made with a cutting file that cost 50 cents (on sale last week but normally it costs only 99 cents!)  I can size it any way I want and cut out of any paper I want. I chose white and backed it up with green and blue for the contrast. The side was punched with a Martha Stewart punch and I added some red gems to complete the CAS card- which is my style. The sentiment is from CTMH and continues on the inside and is so true!

Anything Goes (as long as it is Christmas) at Crimbo Crackers this week, so I am entering the following card in their challenge:

I just love snowflakes as long as they are made of paper- not the real stuff that we had way too much of here in Wisconsin. At least we missed out on the foot or more of snow my family got in Western Wisconsin and Minnesota yesterday!! I cut three snowflakes from the same cutting file on a white piece of card stock. I also cut the joy out with a regular diecut from W Plus 9. I layered that piece on a navy blue card after I added a pretty ribbon from Stampin' Up. I used the cut out snowflake as a layer on the snowflake in the lower right and the O in Joy and added some gems to complete the card.

Last but not least, I am sharing a card I made for the Weekly Shape Challenge at the Sihouette Blog. I just discovered this new challenge and already had the fun pennant and bird set from Miss Kate in my library. You get 6 pennants and the line of birds (which is my favorite) for 99 cents! The challenge is to use this set creatively and link to their blog for a chance to win a credit for more downloads from their store. So I played with the birds and pennants and came up with this card. I decided the birds were singing Happy Birthday to You and of course I cut out the letters and musical note with my Silhouette too. The cloud embossing folder is from Stampin' Up.

Stamping - and Silhouette- smiles, Karen
