CAS Roses Birthday Card

Can I just say- I love this card! No B/B/CB at all and I used designer paper which I rarely do, but I love it! I ordered a sample pack of the designer paper in the new Stampin' Up catalog and this is my favorite. I wish I had way more than just one 6 x 6 piece and will have to order the whole package now. In my opinion, the new SU catalog does not display the dp well enough to convince anyone to buy it. I certainly would not have ordered this pack of dp until I saw the samples in the package that an SU demonstrator was selling on line. I don't think the demonstrator I bought from is still doing it, but many on line and maybe your local demonstrator are selling the sample packs.

The paper is black and grey and creme colored and I simply sponged some pink on the roses. I die cut "happy" in black and out of the roses card front and slipped the black happy and the inside pieces back in the negative opening (inlaid die technique.) Both the happy die and the "birthday" are from a set of dies and stamps from My Creative Time. I punched a butterfly, sponged it pink and attached with the wings popped up by tiny pieces of mounting tape.

I am entering this card in the Flower Power challenge at Allsorts and the Anything Goes challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

  1. Karen this is gorgeous - love how you have coloured the roses, and it gives a beautiful, ethereal, look to the card.
