I used my new moose scene die (from Dee's Distinctively) in a totally different way on this card. I learned about Sun Art cyanotype paper from my bff's blog and her gorgeous samples here. I ordered some Tedco Sun Art Paper immediately and made a few cards with the sun and the special paper this week. It is very simple- just pick an object- in this case a cardstock die cut of the moose scene- and place it out in the sun on the specialty paper. (There is a simple sandwich which is described in the directions.) In just a few minutes, the sun turns the paper a light blue and after you rinse it in water and let it dry, the result is the gorgeous blue and white image. Here is a peak at the sun doing it's work:
I cut the scene out with a Nestabilities oval die and attached it to a blue card base. I added the lovely sentiment die cut with a die also from Dee's Distinctively.
That is so cool Karen..........the card turned out fantastic!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. Love the colors. I had not heard of this technique. Guess I have one more to add to my bucket list of techniques to try.
ReplyDeleteCool die and a great card. I never heard of that technique either. But I told myself unless I start to feel more like my old self, I am not buying anything else. I have too much already that needs my attention but this sure does sound cool!
