I think my favorite of the new Brutus Monroe/Therm O Web products from their recent collaboration is the Dry Brush foil and I love to double foil it with the Brush Strokes Designer Toner Sheets for this look. The "birthday" die is from Simon Says Stamp. I cut out a Happy with a Frantic Stamper die and made it a shaker with Birthday Bash Sparkle Blend sequin mix as you can see here:
I created this last card for my newest video with a favorite Brutus Monroe stencil and Deco Foil Transfer Gel. When the gel was dry, I foiled it with both the Sunrise and Dry Brush foils, then cut them in strips and attached. The cut and embossed gold leafy embellishment was made with a new Tim Holtz Sizzix 3D Laurel Impresslits die. I sure had fun playing and sharing cards I designed with all the new products from Brutus Monroe and hope some of them inspired you to give them a try. I am entering the second card in the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday and at Scrapy Land.
I have been wanting to make a rocker card since learning how to do it watching this video, and when I received some lovely stamps and embossing folders as well as foil and Designer Toner Sheets from Brutus Monroe I was inspired to make this card. I show in my newest video how easy it is to use the foil and Designer Toner Sheets to make beautiful cards. I created the base of the rocker card with a piece of Dry Brush foil over a Deco Foil Toner Sheet and layered that on a navy blue rocker base. I stamped the Rustic Door stamp from Brutus Monroe and layered that over a piece of foiled and embossed (with a Brutus Monroe embossing folder) and sponged piece. I printed the perfect inspirational sentiment and attached to complete my rocker card.
I created two beautiful leaves for this card with the new Brutus Monroe Sunrise foil as well as some gold foil and the Stressed and Marble Designer Toner Sheets. They were cut out with Stampendous and Sizzix dies and the sentiment is a die from IO. I cut the card front with a wonky stitched die from Gina Marie Designs. I am entering the second card in the Anything Goes challenge at Scrapy Land and the Bling It On challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday.
I have been having so much fun designing with the new Designer Toner Sheets from Brutus Monroe and Therm O Web and share a bunch of cards in my new video here. This pretty Christmas card is my favorite of the bunch and it is the card I feature in the video.
I foiled the clear Coffee Rings Designer Toner Sheet with Gina K Designs Radiant Red Fancy Foil and the white Coffee Rings sheet with Gina's Glorious Green Fancy Foil and layered them together. I used the leftover foil over a Deco Foil Toner Sheet for gorgeous ornament die cut with Birch Press Designs Radiant Ornament Layering Dies. (Links to all the products are in the description box of the video.)
I die cut another pretty ornament from Memory Box for the inside of the card and "merry & bright" is from Tim Holtz for Sizzix.
It is so hard to show foil's beauty in still photos, so be sure to watch my video to see how pretty these foiled cards are IRL. I created this Christmas card with the new Brutus Monroe Therm O Web Tide Pool foil and a Marble Clear Designer Toner Sheet and you can see the pretty teal cardbase through the clear acetate. Season's Greetings is a die from Tonic Studios and the stitched snowflakes are from Lawn Fawn. Thanks for visiting my blog and also for watching and sharing my newest video here. I will be sharing more Brutus Monroe cards all week on my blog.
I am ending my Deep Impressions week here on my blog with a couple more lovely cards I made and shared in my latest YouTube video here. I die cut a feather out of chipboard using an older Quik Cutz die and melted Stampendous Hunter Green and Shabby Green embossing powder, then added some Fresh Green Crushed Glass Glitter also from Stampendous. The bronze card front was embossed with an embossing folder from Park Lane at Joanns and the sentiment die is by Penny Black. Here is a look at the inside of the sympathy card with a Spellbinders feather and a beautiful sentiment from Sparkle N Sprinkle:
I created three oak leaves (Stampendous die) with various colors of embossing powders and glitter, layered them on a background embossed with an embossing folder from Darice and then sponged with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink. The "thankful" die is by Gina K Designs. I sure had fun designing with the Deep Impressions embossed pieces I created for my latest YouTube video and hope you enjoyed seeing the cards here and in the video.
All week long here on my blog I am sharing cards I made with the Deep Impressions technique I show how to do in my newest YouTube video here. The stars on this card were created by melting Stampendous Aged Gold, Aged Ivory and Chunky Gold Embossing Powders on stars cut out with Lil' Inker dies and then while the embossing powders were molten, stamped on with a Fun Stampers Journey postage collage stamp. To learn how to do that, simply watch the video here. It is a longer video, but full of sample cards- if you just want to see the technique, you can fast forward through the first five minutes or so. I cut the shaker star with the stitched Lil' Inker star die and stamped with a perfect stamp set from Taylored Expressions both on the front and on the inside:
I used Stampendous Aged Scarlet Embossing Powder on the poinsettia on this card which I die cut with a Sizzix Tim Holtz tattered poinsettia die. The card front was die cut with the lovely Metro Triangle Collage die from Birch Press Designs amd the "noel" is also from Tim Holtz and Sizzix. I am entering the second card in the Anything Goes challenge at Scrapy Land and the Bling It On challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday.
The Deep Impressions technique I am featuring this week in my new YouTube video and here on my blog works perfectly for mixed media cards. The deeply embossed star on this card was created with Stampendous Aged Ivory and gold glitter and when that was molten, I stamped on it with a circular background stamp from Fun Stampers Journey. I created the background sponging through an inspirational stencil from Woodland Fox Creations and then stamped with a stars background stamp. I also sponged randomly with distress ink on the background. Then I applied Nuvo Glimmer Paste through a dotted stencil from Simon Says Stamp for even more texture. I finished the card with a "totally fabulous" die cut from Ellen Hutson. I am entering this card in the September Anything Goes challenge at Craft Stamper Magazine.
One of my favorite techniques of all time is Deep Impressions embossing and I learned how to do it from Fran Seiford of Stampendous. The technique requires using a heat source from under the chipboard piece such as an electric griddle and I recently figured out how to do that so that you can see the process in a video. I had so much fun I made many cards for all occasions and share them in my newest video here and will show many this week on my blog.
This is my favorite of the cards I made with this fun technique. Just look at the texture on that ornament! The ornament dies are from Spellbinders and I used Seth Apter and Stampendous embossing powders on the chipboard ornament before stamping with an old words background stamp from Stampin' Up. Here is a close up of the gorgeous deeply textured ornament and the inside of the card showing the partial die cut front:
I just love how this card turned out! Here is another of my favorite cards that I made with the Deep Impressions technique:
I love the sentiment on this card which is a die cut from Ellen Hutson and is so uplifting. I die cut an older feather die from Quik Cutz and placed a Clear Views transparency behind the opening. The chipboard feather was created with Stampendous Aged Ivory and Seasonings embossing powder and some brown glitter from Tonic Studios and was stamped with a postage stamp background from Fun Stampers Journey.
Would you like to learn how to make these gorgeous deeply embossed embellishments for your cards and craft projects? Come watch my video here. It is a longer video but is full of many samples and then I show you how to make the Deep Impressions pieces. Thanks for watching, subscribing and sharing and thanks. too, for helping me #share the joy of creativity!
It’s Saturday and time for another
fun challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids! This year, all challenges at
SAS4Kids are Anything Goes 4 Kids! We will often have an alternative theme
that you can choose to follow, but are not required to. Create and link any card
that is appropriate for a child and your card could be chosen as one of our top
three cards and you could join us as a guest dt member on a future challenge.
The theme for this
challenge is: Thankful or Fall Cards 4
Kids OR Anything Goes 4 Kids.
I created a thankful fall card
using a beautiful window die from Tutti Designs and I sponged the sunset and
pumpkins from behind with inks. The “thankful” die is from Gina K and the stitched
card front was created with a die from Gina Marie Designs. Be sure to check
out the rest of the cards from TEAM SAS here and we
would love it if you entered our challenge.
What is better than a fun baby shaker card? How about a triple layer baby shaker card? I needed a baby card recently and played with some awesome stitched dies and stamp sets from My Favorite Things to make this triple layer shaker card.
I do not know the sex of the baby to be, so I chose some pastel cardstock pieces to make the three layers of my shaker card and cut the rounded stitched layers with My Favorite Things Die-namics Inside and Out Stitched Rounded Square Dies. I love stitched dies that have the stitching on both the inside and outside like these do! I attached acetate to the back of the pink and blue shakers, created wells and dumped in cute hearts and stars from the Die-namics Baby Rattle Die Set along with some pastel colored beads.
I die cut the mint green rattle with the Die-namics Baby Rattle die and created an easy shaker with the My Favorite Things Circle Shaker Pouches and some more die cut hearts and stars and beads.
I am in the mood for Halloween and Christmas cards and had fun making these with easy pleated backgrounds like those I show in my latest YouTube video here.
I love all the Halloween dies from Tonic Studios and each of the dies on the front and inside of this Halloween card can be found here on the Tonic Studios USA website. My favorites are Spooktacular and Booogie Nights!
I pleated a pretty snowflake dp and die cut the card front with a stitched rectangle die from Cutplorations for this Christmas card. Then I layered it on kraft and a blue cardbase and added a layered "merry" and embossed "Christmas" from Stampendous.
Today I am sharing two more cards I made with the pleating technique I show in my newest YouTube video here. After pleating, you can choose to die cut shapes or the background such as in my second card below. I die cut several stitched butterflies using Lil' Inker dies and also punched one out with an older SU punch. I also die cut the shadow behind "happy" from the pleated floral dp using a new die set from Tonic Studios. On the inside I attached the second stitched and pleated butterfly and another pretty sentiment from Tonic Studios:
I was going for a vintage look on this card and after pleating the background, I embossed it with an embossing folder from Crafter's Companion and sponged with distress ink. The friends flower is a pretty die from Tutti Designs. All week long I am sharing pleated cards and you can learn how to make them here in my latest YouTube video. I am entering the first card in the Anything Goes challenge at Scrapy Land.
I am starting with my favorite of the pleated cards I share in the new video. In the video, I show how to easily pleat lightweight patterned paper and on this card I chose a pretty holly dp. Note that each ornament (using a Spellbinders set) was cut out with the pleats going a different direction and I sponged the pleats for added dimension. The beautiful sentiments on the ornaments are from a Quietfire Design/Elizabeth Crafts die set called Love, Peace and Joy Christmas Ornament Die Set, and the "Wishing You" is from Memory Box.
On this fall card is another sneak peak of next week's YouTube video technique with a beautiful pleated background of fall leaves. I like to cut out my pleated backgrounds with stitched dies (such as this one from Cutplorations) so the edges are perfectly straight and have stitching for extra interest. The "thankful" die is from Gina K Designs and the leaf die is by Stampendous. I am entering the first card in the Anything Goes challenge at Scrapy Land. The new video showing how to pleat patterned paper is short and sweet, and if you watch you will see how easy it is to make pleated backgrounds and die cuts. I hope you will watch and give this technique a try.
I have been busy playing with various techniques and creating cards for my next several YouTube videos. I have had so much fun I have many more cards for each week than what I can blog. So today I am sharing a favorite card with both the pleated background from one week and seahorses created with the Deep Impressions technique from Fran Seiford of Stampendous featured in the next week's video. The embossing powders used are Seth Apter's Deep Sea Baked Texture and several Stampendous specialty embossing powders. The seahorse die is a Tim Holtz Sizzix Bigz die and "hello" is from Paper Smooches. I am entering this card in the Anything Goes challenge at Scapy Land. I hope this sneak peak convinces you to watch for my next two videos and to subscribe to my YouTube channel if you have not already done so. Thanks for helping me share the #joy of creativity!
