Thank You Card with Stencils, Stamps and Punches and No Dies

I made this card for a recent challenge at our monthly stamp club to use NO DIES in the making of a card. This is a real challenge for me as I would say about 99% of my cards nowadays are made with dies. But I faced the challenge and love how this card turned out. I brushed on pink ink through a TCW scalloped mandala stencil going lighter as I moved out from the center. The pink circle and flower were created with punches. I stamped a lovely sentiment from Gina K Designs and added some clear sparkly gems. So pretty and no dies!

Layered Positive and Negative Foiled Cards

I combined a couple techniques from recent videos to make the two cards I am sharing today: layered die cards and Brutus Monroe foils in the positive and negative versions. I used the fun 6 sided shaped dies from Gina Marie Designs for these cards and alternated the layers up and down with foam strips on the raised ones.

The beautiful foiled flower was created with a Gina K Designs stencil, Therm O Web transfer gel, and Silver Sketch foil from Brutus Monroe. "With Sympathy" is a new die from Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions. Here is the version I created with the negative of the foiled piece:

Same foil, stencil and technique and I made this one a celebration card with a scripty Celebrate die from Tonic over a vellum layer. I love the silver foil and black together and hope these cards inspired you to try these techniques or products.

Video- Part Two Making Memory Books with Tonic Studios Dies

Today's video is Part Two of my series on how to make memory books with Tonic Studios dies and in this video I show a new Memory Book from our trip to New Orleans as well as how to make a magnetic center flap page and a double flap page. I learned how make these pages from Jodie Johnson on her Memory Makers Facebook Group. It is a private FB group so you do need to apply to become a member and then you can see all of Jodie's videos as well as many member's memory books.

There are many different memory book die sets from Tonic Studios and I own the first set. In the video, you will see all the pages of this memory book and how to make a couple more detailed interactive pages. Here are a few more pages of this New Orleans Memory Book:

I am finding it is more fun to make these smaller memory books than to do a full size scrapbook for our trips and family celebrations! Watch here for some tips on how easy these books come together.

Embossed Hello Card

I have been playing with embossing powder techniques and made this sparkly embossed hello card with a technique from years ago. I simply applied Versamark ink all over one side of a Crafter's Companion embossing folder (the front side with the label on it), put a piece of yellow cardstock in it and ran it through my embossing machine. Then I dumped on Nuvo sparkly black glitter embossing powder and heated it with my heat gun. It is hard to see the sparkle in the picture, but it adds a lovely touch to the embossed card front. I layered it on black and then on a yellow card base and added a scripty hello from Tonic Studios.

Dads and Grads Cards with Karen Burniston Dies

It's graduation time and almost Father's Day and today I am sharing two more cards I made with Karen Burniston's new dies. My favorite of her new release of dies is the Woven Basket Box Card Die and I used it on both cards I am sharing today as well as many other dies from KB. Both cards were created with vellum envelopes to put a cash gift or gift card in. The grad card also features dies from Impression Obsession and Taylored Expressions.

My Father's Day card is for an ice cream lover- although it could be used for Dad's birthday or any other special day. Most of the dies are from Karen Burniston, but the "On Your Day" sentiment die is a favorite from Tonic Studios. Dad spelled with an upside down ice cream cone is my favorite part of this card.

I am entering the second card in the Masculine challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday and the Anything Goes challenge at Scrapy Land.

Motion Crafts Animation Flip Books

If you follow me, you know I am a huge fan of Motion Crafts animation stamps and dies and recently they came out with a brilliant new way to create animation with their stamps - flip books! They have two awesome sets of stamps as well as all the products needed to make easy and fun flip books.

I have created two flip books so far and am sharing a card I made for my Flip the Monkey flip book. It is a gatefold card with a belly band and the "Big Hugs" die is from Neat & Tangled. In the center of the card is a shutter opening created with a die from My Favorite Things:

On the back is a place to sign on the belly band and a pocket for the flip book:
Here is a picture of the Unicorn Flip book I made with other super cute set of flip book stamps from Motion Crafts:

It is impossible to show the animation of the monkey and unicorn jumping up and down in still pictures, so here is a mini movie of the two flip books I have made so far with the Motion Crafts flip book stamp sets:

I bet you know someone who would love a little flip book with cute monkeys or unicorns! I am not a big fan of coloring so am sharing how cute the books can be even without coloring all the cute animated animals. But if you have fun coloring, just think how awesome your flip books could be!

Video- Making Memory Books with Tonic Studios Dies - Part One

The new video I posted today on my YouTube channel is part one of two in which I share three memory books I made with Tonic Studios dies and then show you how each page was made. Today's Part One video shows two memory books and the basics on how to make the cover, each simple page as well as how to create a pocket for your pictures or memorabilia and a flap page for putting three pictures on a single page.

I learned how to make these books by watching videos from Jodie Johnson of Tonic Studios. There are two more sets of Memory Books dies released after I received this set, so lots to choose from if you want to make a fun memory book as a gift or for yourself. This book was created for my husband to save the pictures and memories from his 70th birthday parties. In the video I also share an interactive book I made for my grandson before I gave it away last Christmas.

If you want to see Jodie's videos as well as many examples of memory books, I suggest joining Jodie's Memory Makers Facebook group here.

Memory books made with Tonic Studios dies are easy and fun to make as I show in the video. I find them so much easier and faster to make than full size scrapbooks and they are perfect for gifts and preserving special memories. Part Two of this series will go live next Monday and shows another Memory Book and how to create a few more unique pages for these books.
