Repeat Impressions SOTW Mountain Vista

Happy Monday! Monday is becoming one of my favorite days of the week, because I get to play with a new Repeat Impressions stamp and show you our Stamp of the Week. This week's SOTW is the beautiful Mountain Vista (629-I) and is available this week exclusively to our blog readers at 50% OFF with the special discount code available on the RI blog, The House that Stamps Built.

To make my card, I stamped the Mountain Vista on glossy paper and sponged a sunrise and lake. I embossed the frame piece with a Sizzix embossing folder and cut the frame with a nestie. I added the baker's twine bow and raised the frame with mounting tape. I added the sentiment (also Repeat Impressions) and the gems to complete the card.

I am entering this card in the challenges at I Did It Creations (use a diecut) and at Wee Memories (United We Stand, collecting cards for my favorite stamping cause: Operation Write Home).

Speedy the Cat, Card Makin' Mamas and Crafty Ann's Challenges

The challenges at Card Makin' Mamas and Crafty Ann's sites were to make birthday cards this week, and at Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge, we were to use food on our cards. I used a paper pieced birthday cake on this card which would qualify for all. All the stamps on this card inside and out were from Raisin Boat and they made me smile, so hopefully will do the same for the person who receives the card.
I tried a new inside idea with a fold that pops out when you open the card to reveal the saying on the inside. I used two sizes of nesties for the opening and am ek success candle punch along the top. The inside piece is 8" x 5" and you score at 2", 4" and 6"with the center fold being a mountain fold.

One Stitch at a Time Challenge

The challenge at One Stitch at a Time this week was "Anything but Square" and I have the perfect card for that. I had fun with some cutting files I got at The Cutting Cafe' and this cute bunny was one of my favorites. The card opens at the left foot and I made it with patterned cardstock, a ribbon and some gems. The button nose has a little stamper's floss for whiskers.

Scrapbook Friday

I had fun making this page showing my grandson making Cookie Monster Alphabet cookies. I didn't have any Sesame Street paper so I went on line and found some Cookie Monsters I could print. I also downloaded a SS alphabet.

Here is Nate rolling out the cookies he made with his Dad. Fun memories of a fun day.

Speedy the Cat's Challenge

The challenge this week at Speedy the Cat (Mark's Finest Papers) is a fun one: use black and white and one other color and do some piercing on your cards. I created this CAS card using those suggestions, an embossing folder and a funny stamp from Hambo Stamps. Hope it makes you smile as it does me:)

RI What If Wed? Sketch Challenge

Repeat Impressions What If Wednesday? is bringing you another fun sketch to play with this Wednesday. The stamp I chose to feature on this card made me laugh and even made my husband laugh (Good Trade #6207W). Because the cat was making music, I continued that theme in my dp and punches.

Now it is your turn - simply create a card based on this sketch, post it and then link to the RI Blog referring to Sketch #F2311 before the March 8th deadline. You can win great prizes and don't have to use RI stamps, but if you do you get two chances to win with your entry.

I am out of town for a few days so scheduled this post early. I will be back blogging again on Friday hopefully.

Craft Us Crazy Winter Challenge

The challenge this week at Craft Us Crazy is Winter cards. This is highly appropriate here in central Wisconsin where we just got about a dozen more inches of snow:( I have this CAS winter card I made recently using some some DP I had for scrapping and a Tim Holtz embossing folder of his famous snowman. I cut him out and added some glitter and a scarf for a fun focal point. I sure hope this is our last blast of winter here, but it is unlikely.

My Maxine calendar recently made me lol, so am sharing: "Somebody took a beating in the market the other day. Maybe next time they'll pay attention to that "10 items or less" sign..."

Repeat Impressions SOTW Twisted Easel Card

It's Monday again and so time to tell you about another great Stamp of the Week special at Repeat Impressions. This week's SOTW is this fun Raggedy Anne and Andy (902-I). This SOTW is available exclusively to our RI blog readers at 50% off with the special discount code from today through Sunday the 27th. To get the discount code and more info, please go to the RI blog, The House that Stamps Built.
I tried a new card style for my card today: a Twisted Easel card. The top section is a square scored at the diagonal. It then folds as shown to be held up by the inside sentiment piece. I brayered pastels klaidacolor on glossy paper and cut out with my lacey circles nestie. I then stamped the adorable pair in the middle and added some black marker dots on the lacey intersections. Patterned paper was used for the front triangle and for the scalloped edges of the inside of the card. The sentiment is also from Repeat Impressions and was raised with doubled mounting tape to hold up the front. The card folds down and fits into an A2 envelope for mailing.

I am entering this card in the challenge at Paper Crafting Journey "Anything Goes."

Challenge up your Life and Stampavie Challenges

The challenges this week at Challenge up your Life and at Stampavie were to make monochromatic cards. I was playing with a new butterfly diecut I got (you will see more cards with it soon), and this was made with the opening mask the die made when cut out. I sponged with light blue to create the butterfly image and then stamped with a floral TAC stamp as well. I added blue gems and the "think spirng" sentiment which is how I am trying to feel with another major winter storm bearing down on us. I layered on navy blue and then on a lighter blue card for a fun monochromatic card.

Woodware USA and OWH Stars & Stripes Challenges

The challenge at OWH Stars and Stripes this week was to make a masculine card and at Woodware USA it was to use embossing in our cards. I had fun making this card using a new Stampin Up set and their embossing folder. I stamped the plane on white and cut out, then layered a black piece on a red piece with a red punched circle and the plane in the center, and then put the whole piece through the Big Shot with the SU embossing folder. I added the white stamped piece on the bottom and cut off the very bottom to show a red strip on the inside.

I am out of town doing the Grandma thing this weekend (Disney on Ice with my grandson and Grandpa too:), so am sharing this second post today before I go. Hope your weekend is as great as mine is going to be.

Scrapbook Friday

I have been scrapping again for my grandson's scrapbooks so will be sharing some pages again on Fridays. These are the two pages I made with the professional photographer's pictures of Nate's day as "Ring Dude". He colored the program during the ceremony so I used that for the title and some of the color added. There was a dog wandering around the Salvage One reception site and the picture below is one of my favorite.

I added some hearts to symbolize the love that surrounded that day. And this is my whole family- great picture and great memories.

Speedy the Cat Challenge

I really liked the sketch this week at Speedy the Cat's Challenge and was inspired to make this card which features stamps from Repeat Impressions. I stamped the Crowned Crane on patterned paper- isn't it neat how the positive and negative of the image show on this patterned paper? The middle piece is embossed with a SU folder and the edge punch is from ek success. I cut out the oval with my nesties and embossed, then sponged with a very light blue while still in the die. Six blue-grey pearls complete the card.

Repeat Impressions What If Wed? Case Ayana's Card

The new What If Wednesday? challenge at RI's blog, The House that Stamps Built, is to case the card below by one of our Rock Stars, Ayana. I copied the CAS look with repeating the focal point, the bottom cut with a edge punch and the placement of the sentiment. One of my favorite Repeat Impressions stamps is Rebecca and I stamped her three times on white ovals and also on three different pastel papers. I embossed with the Swiss Dots from CB and paper pieced her hat and dress. The sentiment is also from RI and the edge punch is from Martha Stewart.
Now it's your turn! Create a card casing Ayana's and link to RI's blog for a chance to win a great prize. You have almost two weeks to get it done and posted and you don't have to use Repeat Impression's stamps, but you get two chances to win if you do.

I am entering this card in the challenges at Our Creative Corner to use a cutting technique and at Little Claire's Design where "anything goes" this week.

Totally Papercrafts and Totally Gorjus Challenges

The challenge this week at Totally Papercrafts was Clean and Simple and at Totally Gorjus it was Love. The red celtic heart is a brass stencil from Dreamweaver and I used red paste and Jewel Glitter Ritz to make the heart just as we learned in a make and take at our local Stamp Shoppe. It is much more sparkly and gorjus in person. The top flap was was cut down and the corners rounded for a fun different look to the card. The love is an old SU stamp, but it says it all, right? "Love" how it turned out and it is "gorjus" if I do say so myself:)

Fab n Funky and Crafts and Me Challenges

The challenge at Fab n Funky this week was to use texture in our cards and at Crafts and Me Challenges it was to use red. I had to take two pictures of this card because the pix of the whole did not show the texture and details of the white bodice no matter what I did. I made this card using a cutting template from The Cutting Cafe' and I love how it turned out. The texture is added with embossing folders from CB and SU, some pearls and some floral lace.

Craft Your Passion Challenge

I love challenges like the one at Craft Your Passion this week: Anything Goes! Sometimes I need a sketch or color combo to inspire me, but sometimes I just want to make a fun card like this one that I shared with my stamping club recently. And winter is on its last legs, right?? so I better get this posted. I had seen a similar card on line and used my various punches and nesties to make this fun snowman sledding. There is glitter on the snowline and I sponged his edges and added pearls and googly eyes for the final touches.

Mojo Monday Jump for Joy

I really liked the new sketch from Mojo Monday this week and decided to use some of my new stamps from Repeat Impressions to make a card showing how I feel this week. I am jumping for joy this week with the great Super Bowl win by my Packers and achieving a dream of mine to become part of a design team. The bunny is called Jump for Joy and she can't help but lift your spirits. I used the computer to type those words on the dp but the "Happy" is from another RI set. The punch is from ek success and more dp and gems complete the card.

Penny's Paper-Crafty and Paper Playtime Challenges

The challenge this week at both Penny's Paper-Crafty and at Paper Playtime was to use hearts in our cards. I had fun with my punches on this card. The front was cut at an angle and the white CB embossed paper is raised with tall mounting tape and acetate is attached under the punch openings for a cool look. The large celtic punch is from Martha Stewart and the deco heart from Emagination. Not sure on the other one...Gems and fun dp finish the card.

Repeat Impressions Rock Star Announcement

Guess who is the newest member of the Repeat Impressions design team or "Rock Star"? Yep- it is me!! I am sooo excited to have been chosen to be a part of this great company's team. I have participated in many of their challenges in the past and even won several times. I love their complete line of stamps and will of course be featuring them in my weekly blog posts. The card I am sharing today was designed using the current sketch on the Repeat Impressions blog, the House that Stamps Built.  The funny stamps on the front and inside are available from Repeat Impressions on their retail site. I used a cuttlebug folder and a punch from ek success continuing the candle theme. The rounded square diecuts are from Lifestyle Crafts.

This is a picture of the sketch which I turned on its side for my card. This sketch challenge ends today but there is still time to enter the challenge if you hurry. I will be showing you a new sketch tomorrow with another chance to win. Check out the RI blog for great ideas from the other Rock Stars and to see the announcement and my pix:)
