Fall Foiled "Wishing You All That Is Happy" Card

Foil cardstock embosses beautifully and I have been playing with that look for many cards after I found some inexpensive gorgeous foil cardstock at Michaels recently. For this card I embossed the card front with a Sizzix embossing folder and die cut stitched leaves and an acorn from Impression Obsession with several other colors of foil cardstock. The sentiment strip is from Simon Says Stamp and its wish is for you!

I am entering this card in the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday.

Fall and Butterfly Stair Step Pop Out Cards

I have been playing with some new dies and created today's cards with them before I put them away. On the front of this card is a pretty Poppystamps butterfly frame and a lovely sentiment die from Sue Wilson and Creative Expressions. But the best part of each of these cards happens when the card is opened:

I created a stair step pop out with a new die from Divinity Designs. The die set not only creates the steps but cuts all the layers perfectly so this card and the others I have made come together in minutes. To see how easy it is to create a showstopper card like this, watch my new video here where I make one step by step. The letters are from an alphabet die set from Karen Burniston and the sentiment is from Sue Wilson. The beautiful designer paper is also from Divinity Designs.

I love fall colors and used some beautiful dp from Stampin' up in this fall stair step pop out thinking of you card. Of course I used the same Divinity Designs Stairstep Pop Out die set for the inside and the "thinking of" dies are from Dies...To Die For.

More Penny Black Beauty (With Dies) From My Newest Video

I am loving creating easy beautiful cards with Penny Black's Masterpieces Made Simple and favorite dies such as the Stair Step Pop Out With Layers die set from Divinity Designs. I show how I easily made this gorgeous card in my newest video here.

The front of this card was so easy to make with another Penny Black beautiful picture and a sentiment die from Sue Wilson and Creative Expressions. Here are some more close up pictures of the stairstep inside:

The sentiment dies are from Tim Holtz and Sizzix and LOVE was created with alphabet dies from Karen Burniston.

I used a debossing die from Memory Box and distress ink to add some texture and interest on this CAS card once again featuring a Penny Black Masterpieces Made Simple.

I had so much fun creating these cards for my new video here and hope you will watch it to see why I love these products so much.

Die Cut Crazy Series - Penny Black Masterpieces Made Simple With Dies

I am die cut crazy as you know and I love to find new dies and creative products that make cardmaking so easy and beautiful! In my newest video here, I share many cards made with Penny Black's Masterpieces Made Simple and many favorite dies.

Penny Black's Masterpieces Made Simple are small pictures of their most famous stamped scenes colored beautifully that we can layer on our cards. I die cut the navy blue layer with Gina Marie Designs Wonky Stitched Rectangle die and added a sentiment die from Sue Wilson and Creative Expressions. But just look at what pops up when this card is opened:

I created this pop up staircase with a new die from Divinity Designs and I show how easy it is to make a card like this in the new video. The letters that spell HUGS were created with a die set from Karen Burniston and the "warm winter" sentiment is from Cutplorations.

The leaf on this card was a winter leaf with snow on it in the Penny Black Masterpiece, but I decided to color it as a fall leaf stubbornly refusing to fall. I also brushed blue distress ink on the background and green distress ink on the W Plus 9 Pine Frame. Here is a look at the inside of this card with the stitched oval cut out of the frame, a pine branch and a perfect Penny Black sentiment:

Here is another card made easily with Penny Black's Masterpieces Made Simple and dies. I added the texture with a die from Memory Box called Pinpoint Burst Plate and I brushed on some yellow ink to look like the sun. The pretty sentiment is a stamp from Penny Black.

I hope my cards in my new video encourage you to give some of these ideas and products a try.

Pink Fresh Studios Layering Slimline Stencils Card

I am participating in the Crop and Create Delivered Cardmaking weekend of classes in a few weeks and we all received a huge box full of dies and stamps and stencils and other goodies. I opened my box immediately when I received it, and the one product I just had to try right away were the layering slimline stencils and matching slimline die from Pink Fresh Studios. It was so easy to create this layered slimline card! No trying to line up stamps or color on my own, just apply inks through a series of stencils andthen die cut the shape out. I raised it up with pop dots over a subtle basketweave background created with a die from Honeybee Stamps and then added a die cut sentiment from Papertrey Ink.

I will share more cards I learn how to make in the 3 day weekend of cardmaking lessons using many other products I received after the classes. Can't wait!

Kitty and Peace Tangram Cards From My Newest Video

Once I discovered the many tangrams that can be made with just 7 geometric shapes in the Chinese Puzzle Die from Crealies, I made many tangrams and cards for my newest video here. I am not sure what to call this shape, but it reminded me of a candle or chalice and it seemed perfect for this circular "peace" card. I embossed the gold foil pieces with a 3D embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp.

I found so many cat tangrams that I decided to make another 4 page bookbinding card with my favorites. This one is a Christmas card for a special kitty lover I know. Each page has a different Christmas kitty tangram made with the same 7 geometric shapes in the Chinese puzzle.

The sentiment dies are from Dies...To Die For, the bows, wreath and jingle bells are dies from Karen Burniston and the designer paper is from Whimsy Stamps.

I had so much fun creating tangrams and cards with them for my newest video and hope my cards inspire you to try some of the ideas and products!

More Cards with Tangrams and Foil Cardstock From My Newest Video

I think this is one of my favorite cards of the many I made with tangrams and foil cardstock for my newest video here. I had never heard of tangrams but discovered the concept watching a video by Deepti of the Crealies design team where she created a swan using the 7 pieces of Crealies Chinese Puzzle Die Set. All the cards I show in the new video also feature foil cardstock and I chose copper for the background and a rainbow foil for the tangram butterfly, all embossed together with an Altenew 3D embossing folder

In a recent video I showed how to make 4 page bookbinding cards after learning how to from Sam of Mixed Up Crafts. Here is a link to that video if you want to learn how to put a book card together. I adjusted the sizes on this one to be a bit taller and wider because the tangrams were a little bigger than the pages on the one in the video would allow for. I also cut the side fold down to 1 inch to give me more room on the pages. This is a book card for a special young man and my first page has a rocket embossed with a Tim Holtz Sizzix embossing folder and the start of a question - WHERE?

WILL YOU GO?  The sailboat was debossed with an Altenew die for great texture on the foil cardstock. And look what is in the pocket on the left page - all the letters of the alphabet can be created with the pieces of the Chinese puzzle into tangrams, and I put all the letters of the name of the special child in that pocket!

What will he ride on his next adventure? A helicopter or a plane? Or something he creates with the tangram pieces I put on the back of the card?

He can have fun and build something new or copy the letters or rockets and other shapes I put on the card with these colorful tangram pieces. I think he is going to love it!

I am entering the second card into the Lots of Layers challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday.

Video - Cardmaking With Tangrams and Foil Cardstock

Have you heard of tangrams? I had not but sure had fun creating them for the many cards I share in my newest video here. I saw a beautiful swan card made by a Crealies dt member and decided to purchase the Crealies square Chinese puzzle die she used to create her swan. In her video, she was looking at patterns I now know are tangrams. The tangram is a set of 7 geometric pieces in different shapes and sizes that form a square. When I started searching Pinterest for tangrams, I was blown away by all the animals and geometric and abstract figures that can be created simply by rearranging the 7 pieces! Here is a link to my Pinterest board with hundreds of ideas I pinned

All of the cards in my newest video show different tangrams and each features foil cardstock. I love the look of embossed foil cardstock and in this card I embossed the copper foil background and the tangram horse with an embossing folder from WeR Memory Keepers.

This is the card I made in the video and it features my favorite embossing folder technique - inlaying the "flower" tangram right into the circle front with an embossing folder from Altenew. The card is a circle easel card and the front is held up with a layered Celebrate die on pop squares from Dies...To Die For at Shopscrapbook101.com. Here is another view of the inlaid embossed front:

The tangram pattern was called a propeller but I also saw a flower and decided to use it as such for my card. I show many more cards with different tangrams in the video, but here are some pictures of patterns I made templates for but did not make into cards yet:

All of these use the same 7 pieces but all are totally different sizes and images depending on how we arrange the pieces! The possibilities are endless! To see many more cards and how I made the round easel card above, watch the new video here.

I hope the cards I share encourage you to give these ideas and products a try!

Pharmacy White Card Celebration Card

Today my niece is receiving her pharmacy white coat in a very special ceremony so I made her this card to say congratulations and how proud we all of her! I started with a graduation gown die from Dies...To Die For and then used a Creative Expressions Pressed Shirt die to cut it down the middle of the white coat and add a collar, both with stitching.  Then I added some white buttons. I also cut a "name tag" and added her school initials to that. Her school colors are green and gold, so I chose those colors for the cardbase, the streamers and the layered sentiment (all dies from Dies...To Die For.)

Pop Up and Light Up Christmas Card From My Newest Video

I created this special card for my newest Christmas Card Countdown video here with the new Street Lantern and Tiny Gnomes die sets from Karen Burniston. The sentiment is a favorite from Stampendous. Look what happens when the "press here" star is pressed:

The street lanterns light up! I added Pear Blossom Press EZ Lights behind the three lanterns. Now look what happens when the card is opened:

The Garden Bench and Street Lantern pop up (both new dies from Karen Burniston) and I added a couple more adorable Christmas Tiny Gnomes and a fun gnomie sentiment I printed on my computer. To really see the pop up motion and fun details of the front and inside of this card, watch the new video here.

I am entering this card in the Sparkle and Shine challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday and into the Sun or Snow challenge at the Karen Burniston Pop-Up Peeps facebook group. #missionpoppable
