It’s my turn to post a project on Blog
Tonic USA and here, and I am sharing a step card created with Tonic dies and a
line of awesome new products called BARC Wood Paper. I love surprises and a few
days ago I received a surprise package in the mail from Gary at Tonic USA which
was full of lovely wood paper, tape and envelopes! Tonic Studios is
collaborating with ARC Crafts, the
manufacturer of BARC Wood Products and our design team projects will be shown
on both blogs. The wood paper is sold in sheets and is adhesive backed which
means it is so easy to attach after die cutting even the most detailed dies. The
BARC wood envelopes look and feel like real wood, and come in many different
sizes. Here is a picture of the different colors and types of wood paper products
available from ARC Crafts that I received in my surprise package:
I decided to make a step card to
feature the wood products with my Tonic dies and Nuvo products, and started
with a 5” x 12” piece of green cardstock scored at the 1 ¼, 2 ½, 4 ¼. 6 and 9
inch lines. I cut another piece of green cardstock 5” x 5 ¾” and attached it on
the back stairstep as shown here:
I die cut Tonic’s Saxophone Solo die
out of a piece of adhesive backed Cherry Wood BARC Paper and attached it to the
side of the back square piece. I kept the inside pieces of his suit and
saxophone and applied Black Ash Nuvo Embellishment Mousse to the suit pieces
and Indian Gold Mousse to the sax inside piece. After they dried just a little,
I inlaid them back inside the suit and sax openings. I die cut Tonic’s “Celebrate”
Miniature Moments die out of the gorgeous Rustic Cherry BARC Wood Paper and
attached it easily with the adhesive back.
Here is a look at the card from the front:
On the first step of the card, I cut a piece of the BARC
Cherry Wood Tape and embossed it with a musical notes embossing folder. I
highlighted the embossing with Nuvo Aquamarine Embellishment Mousse and dots of
Nuvo Blue Lagoon Glitter Drops. I die cut some Musical Notes out of aqua blue
scraps and added them to the first step and main card piece. I added a black
and white Piano Melody die cut to the second stair. The final touch was to add
some Blue Lagoon Glitter Drops gems created in different sizes on top of mini
glue dots. After they dried, they stick wherever you want them on your cards and
projects. Here are a couple more close up pictures of the gorgeous BARC wood
die cuts and tape on this step card:

What a striking card Karen - the woodgrain really complements the image, and the card as a whole. Great work.
