My newest YouTube video features many cards made with the Glazed Distress Oxide Technique and a comparison of glossy cardstocks that I was able to do because of the kindness of a sweet crafter who is a member of the Stamp Junkies Facebook group. I tried the technique on regular glossy cardstock and HP photo paper because I did not have the Ranger Alcohol Ink glossy cardstock that Tim and Jennifer recommended in their videos. After not seeing the same bright results on what I had, I asked in the FB group and a "so very kind" member offered to send me a couple sheets so I could compare before purchasing (as I am on a purging and NOT buying anything new hiatus right now. HA- wish me luck:) Then she sent me a whole package and did not want to receive any reimbursement! Needless to say, my favorite Glazed Distress Oxide card was sent to her to say Thank You for being So Very Kind! I also made a couple more thank you cards with the technique and a new stitched square "so very kind" die from Lil' Inker. The first sample above features my favorite Distress Oxide color combo - Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio, Wilted Violet and Picked Raspberry. The distress oxide becomes bright and beautiful by adding Distress Micro Glaze as you can see in the video here. I also share that in my opinion, the best glossy paper for this technique is indeed the Ranger Alcohol glossy cardstock.
My second thank you card made with the Glazed Distress Oxide technique features Mermaid Lagoon, Lucky Clover, Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide inks. As shown in the video, each layer is dried before adding any more color so the colors are not muddied. I added some clear gems to this card and a few punched butterflies and pearls to the first one to finish them off.
Thanks for watching, sharing, commenting and subscribing to my YouTube channel and for visiting my blog today. And thanks for helping me #share the joy of creativity!

Such a cool background Karen!
Beautiful cards Karen and that was such a sweet friend to send you that. I am trying to curb my appetite for new things too, but it does not seem to be going very well. I hope you have better success then I do.
