Having a Play with New Therm O Web Stencils and Gina K Designs Butterfly Kisses

Yesterday I shared a new YouTube video where I made a card and gift box with Therm O Web's Clear Designer Toner Sheets with both the positive and negative views of a floral acetate toner sheet. There were a few items in the CHA release from Therm O Web and Gina K Designs I did not receive in my initial order and now that I have remedied that, I had a fun play this week with them. Gina K Designs and Therm O Web released gorgeous Butterfly Kisses stamps, dies and Foil-Mates, and Deco Foil also released a whole new line of stencils! (All the links are at the end of this blog post.)

I love butterflies and check out the shine in these:

Still photography just does not do foiled images justice, but believe me the butterflies just shine. I stamped them over the matching foil-mate, ran them through a hot laminator with either Twinkling Pink or Dazzling Orange Fancy Foils and cut them out with the matching Butterfly Kisses dies.

The swirly foiled background was created with Deco Foil's Clear Toner Sheets (a thicker heat resistant acetate), the new Swirls Designer Stencil and Transfer Gel. I applied the transfer gel with a plastic knife through the stencil onto the clear toner sheet and let it dry until clear. Then I cut the piece in half and covered each half with pink or orange fancy foils and ran it through a hot laminator. I attached the pretty foiled swirls onto a white card base and added the foiled butterflies and the "warm wishes" sentiment.

I wondered what it would look like to layer the two colored stenciled patterns on top of each other and that is how I made this colorful shaker card. Using a pink swirls and an orange pinwheels pattern created with Deco Foil stencils, the transfer gel and fancy foils, I created two pretty acetate pieces, layered them together and used it as a window to my shaker card. The butterflies were created with the leftover pieces of foil from the original Butterflies Kisses run through my laminator with black toner sheets and die cut with the matching dies. Inside the shaker are more punched sparkly butterflies, bright pink beads and Doodles Paper Playground Sparkle Blends sequin mixes (Orange You Glad and All That Glitters.) Here is another look at the shaker card all shook up:

I was having so much fun playing with the Therm O Web stencils that I couldn't stop here, so be sure to come back later this week for two more blog posts and more fun cards!

Video: Therm O Web Clear Designer Toner Sheets Shaker Card and Gift Box

I shared a sneak peak of my favorite card of those I made for the Therm O Web CHA booth earlier with my favorite new color of Deco Foil but ran out of the plum foil and had to wait until I got some more to make a YouTube video and teach it in my classes. But I have plenty now and am sharing how to make this pretty shaker card in my newest YouTube video here.

The top of the gift box is made the same way as the shaker card using the positive and negative versions of the Floral Sketch Deco Foil Clear Designer Toner Sheets, and I share all the measurements to make this easy box in the video too.

We all have used acetate to make shaker cards, but this unique new product from Therm O Web takes them to a whole new level of beauty with the foiled images on the acetate. I show how to make this card and how to continue the pattern from the acetate to the negative pattern so none of the beauty is wasted in the new video, so be sure to check it out.

This whole week on my blog I am featuring the new Gina K Designs and Therm O Web products so be sure to stop back so you don't miss any. Thanks for visiting here and on my YouTube channel and for helping me#share the joy of creativity!

Personalized Birthday Pop-up Card for the End of KB Week

For a week now I have been posting new interactive cards I made using the brand new dies in Karen Burniston's most recent release. I had so much fun designing with them, I used every one in the cards I have posted this week and shown in action in this video. (The castle knight and dragon card will be shared on March 17th for my For the Boys card at Send a Smile 4 Kids.)

I used Karen's Fancy Label Accordion Die to make this easy but impressive card for my brother's birthday. He loves the outdoors so I decorated the front panel with the new Outdoor Scene Die Set and the last panel with the number of years he will be celebrating using the new Numbers Die Set and the Birthday Words Set. The card folds flat to mail with the front panel visible as shown here:

Here is another view of the accordion card open:

I die cut a Fancy Flourish frame for the center panel and added a HB to you using a Simon Says Stamp die. This is one of the easiest die sets to use from the new collection and I know my brother is going to love this card. To see all the cards I have made in action, be sure to watch the video I made here.

I am entering this card in the Anything Goes challenge at Scrapy Land.

Happily Ever After Wedding Pop-up Card

I had so much fun designing interactive pop-up cards with all the dies in the newest release from Karen Burniston and this is another favorite! The Cake Pop-up Die Set makes a wonderful wedding or birthday card depending on how you decorate it. I chose to add silver Cake Trims and a pretty "Happily Ever After" diecut on the inside of this wedding card. Here is a look at the front:

I die cut Mr. and Mrs. using a die from Tonic Studios, then embossed the white front with a pretty embossing folder from Crafter's Companion. I layered it on a black piece and then onto the white card base, all with rounded corners. Here is another look at the spectacular pop-up wedding cake:

To see how the cake folds down and pops up as well as the interactivity of all the cards I made with this Karen Burniston release of dies, be sure to watch my newest video here. Thanks for visiting and for helping me #share the joy of creativity!

Guest Designer for the Karen Burniston March 2018 Designer Challenge - Coffee and Cake!

I am thrilled to be part of Karen Burniston's March 2018 Designer Challenge as a guest designer today and her theme this month is Coffee and Cake. Who doesn't love coffee and cake, right? And you will also love the new Coffee Cup Pop-up Die Set and the Cake Pop-Up Die Set and all the wonderful cards Karen and her design team made with those two sets in this challenge. They will be featured today on the Karen Burniston Facebook page and tomorrow on Karen's blog here. I am sharing a card I made with the Coffee Cup Pop-Up Die Set for this challenge and on Thursday I am showing a wedding card with the Cake Pop-up die Set.

To see all the cards I designed with all the new dies in this latest release and all their interactive pop up movement, be sure to watch my newest YouTube video here.

The front of my card features a sweet mini coffee cup from the Coffee Charms die set as well as some coffee beans, a little heart and a perfect sentiment stamp from Crackerbox Palace. But as is always the case when designing with Karen Burniston pop-up dies, the real fun happens when the card is opened by the lucky recipient:

The coffee cup in the middle stands up and there is a Starbucks gift card tucked in for the birthday girl or boy to enjoy! I think the new Happy Birthday die in this Karen Burniston release is my favorite birthday die yet, and I have many of them. The font is so pretty and cheerful!

I am entering this card in the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday and the Coffee/Tea challenge at TCP Tuesday.

I had fun designing this coffee cup pop-up card and being part of this month's Designer Challenge with Karen Burniston and her design team. I share many more interactive cards in this video and will be showing all of the cards I designed throughout this month, so be sure to watch the video and stop by again here on my blog. Thanks for helping me #share the joy of creativity!

Video- Karen Burniston New Release Pop-up Cards for All Occasions

I have had so much fun designing with all the dies in Karen Burniston's newest fantastic release and in my latest video I show all the cards I designed and all the die sets. Each of the cards will be blogged with all the specifics, but to see the interactive elements of each one, be sure to watch the video here.

This is the front of the card I demonstrate how to make in this video.  I used Karen's Palm Tree Pop-up die set, as well as her Sea Animals and Tropical Scene die sets. The Best Wishes was cut with a die from Tonic Studios. I love the scene on the front, but the real fun happens when the recipient opens the card:

The palm tree pops up and stands up for display and it was so easy to make! Be sure to watch the video and you will see how easy it is! I added a sea turtle and star fish (both diecut with Karen Burniston's dies) and waves with an "enjoy" cut out (using an IO die.) I think this card would be perfect for a retirement or bon voyage or just about any celebration.

Speaking of celebrations- be sure to enter my month long Celebrate March contest for a chance to win a huge crafty prize! For all the details, just click the picture on the top right side of the blog. Thanks for watching and sharing my videos and for visiting here and thanks, too, for helping me #share the joy of creativity!

Anything Goes 4 Kids OR Cards 4 Girls at Send a Smile 4 Kids

It’s Saturday and time for another fun challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids! This year, all challenges at SAS4Kids are Anything Goes 4 Kids! We will usually have an alternative theme that you can choose to follow, but are not required to. Create and link any card that is appropriate for a child and your card could be chosen as one of our top three cards and you could join us as a guest dt member on a future challenge.

The theme for this challenge is: Anything Goes 4 Kids OR Cards for Girls!  It is not required that you send in your card if you enter our challenges, but our kids would sure love it if you did!

I decided to make a bridge card for a girl featuring new dies from Karen Burniston. I created a sweet mermaid using her Princess and Mermaid set. The waves and scene in the background were made with the Tropical Scene die set and I added a favorite sentiment die from Ellen Hutson perfect for a girl or anyone. The bridge card folds flat to mail and I am sure any "be-you-tiful" girl would love this card. Here is another view from a different angle:

I am entering this card in the Anything Goes challenges at Scrapy Land challenge (used Karen Burniston dies), and at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday.
