Video - Christmas Card Countdown - Sweet Holiday Pop Up Cards

Have you started your Christmas cards for extra special people yet? In my newest video here which is part of my continuing Christmas Card Countdown Video Series, I share many special pop up cards featuring new dies from Karen Burniston and Dies...To Die For at Shopscrapbook101.com. This is the card I make step by step in the video:

Joy is my favorite holiday word and I made this JOY so sweet with new candy dies from Dies...To Die For and an ornament from Gina Marie Designs. But look what pops up when the card is opened:

A super sweet snowman pops up made with the new Snowman Pop-up Die set from Karen Burniston. I continued the sweet candy theme with glitter gum drops and a perfect sentiment cut with dies from Dies...to Die For. Here is a closer look at the cute snowman:

As I show in the new video, the pop up snowman is not hard to put together and he lays very flat for mailing. I liked him so much I featured the pop up snowman in this card too:

The "Merry and Bright" on the front are dies from Stampendous and the sentiment on the vellum on the inside is from Sue Wilson.

I had so much fun making pop up cards for my new video and hope my cards and video encourage you to give some of these ideas and products a try!

I am entering the second snowman in the Sun or Snow challenge at the Karen Burniston Pop-Up Peeps facebook group. #missionpoppable

Cards For Wisconsin Sports Lovers

Our Milwaukee Brewers are having a great year and I made this card for a Brewer fanatic with the Brewers colors and a logo stamp I ordered from a Wisconsin company. The "Baseball in Motion" stamp is from Stamp Junkies.

The celebration continues on the inside with a die from Stampin' Up called Hats Off on which I added another Milwaukee Brewers logo.

I learned how to make this Fold Back Pop Up card from a tutorial here on Dawn Griffith's blog. The football and helmet dies I used are from Dies...To Die For. Here are a couple pictures that show this awesome fun fold:

There is an extra triangular piece in the center that pops out and I put a sparkly gold Packer helmet on there and added the perfect sentiment on the back diamond piece. Of course the Packer colors are green and gold, but here is a version for Wisconsin Badgers fans in red and white laying flat ready to mail:

The footballs and helmet were cut with more dies from Dies...To Die For. I like that these die sets have two different sizes of helmets and three different sizes of footballs so I can pick which ever size is perfect for my card. All the Packer and Badger logos were ordered as personalized custom order stamps from Crackerbox and Suzy Stamps and you can order any team or other image you might like from them. Here are some views of this fun fold card as it opens:

I love fall weather and fall sports and this year is even more exciting with our Brewers almost definitely in the post-season!

Fall Cards with New Dies...To Die For Dies

The September release at Dies...To Die For at Shopscrapbook101 is full of amazing dies and in this blogpost I am sharing cards made with some of my favorites. This is a slimline card created with the new Slimline Tree With Critter Homes die. The three critter holes open up to reveal these friends:

The squirrels, acorns and "nuts about you" sentiment are part of the new Squirrel die set.

In the new September release there is a die set called Succulents and Terrarium and I made this z-fold card to show that hanging from the bridge piece. Here are some other looks that show different angles of this fun fold:

The gorgeous background die is Echo Noble's Succulent Background. The scripty words are part of a new die set from called Lu's Fall Words. I die cut the terrarium out of copper foil cardstock and vellum and added plants from the same die set. I die cut the succulents background out of four different cardstock colors and inlaid three different colors of succulent leaves. Since I had the leftovers, I also created this card:

I recently took a online class with Jennifer McGuire and she shared a tip on how to combine two dies to decorate plainer shaped dies like the orange round pumpkins here. I attached bright orange pieces of the succulents background die on top of the darker orange cardstock and then cut out the pumpkins. Makes them so much more interesting, doesn't it?

More Fall and Halloween Cards from My Newest Video With Karen Burniston New Dies

I love to make fall and Halloween cards and had great fun creating cards for my newest video with new dies from Karen Burniston. This simple front leads to much more beauty on the inside:

The fence pops up as the card opens and was created with a new die from Karen Burniston called Iron Fence Pop-up. Here is another look at that interactive pop up fence:

I used the Iron Fence Pop Up die flat on the front of this spooky Halloween card. To really get the effect of what happens when this card is opened, you will want to watch the video here. But here are some still pictures of the super fun inside surprise:

Ha Ha Ha Happy Halloween from Count Dracula! Guess what the number of the day is? 31 and there are 31 bats for my grandson to count. This adorable Dracula was made with Karen Burniston's Bitty Ball die set and her new Character Add-On 1 for Halloween.

I love how these cards turned out and hope you do too and maybe want to give some of the ideas and products a try.

I am entering the second card in the Anything Goes challenge at Dies R Us (I used a Karen Burniston die. )

Video: Cardmaking with Fall Dies From Karen Burniston and Dies...To Die For

I am die cut crazy I admit and I love to make interactive pop up and fun fold cards. In my newest video here I share 5 fun fall and Halloween cards made with new dies from Karen Burniston and Dies...To Die For at Shopscrapbook101.com. Here is the front of the card I show how to make in the video:

I created the front of this card with new and older dies from Dies...to Die For called Fall Tree and round and Flat Boer pumpkins. I decorated two of the pumpkins with an idea I just learned from Jennifer McGuire - use a different background die attached on top to change up the look of the round second (pumpkin) die. I chose the new "Echo's Succulents Background Die" just released at Dies...to Die For. But the best part of this card is when the card is opened:

As I show in the video, I used Karen Burniston's Bitty Ball die set and her new Character Add-ons 1 for Halloween to create this double ball pop up "pumpkin man". I added a scripty "happy fall y'all" wish and some more pumpkins (all dies from Dies...to Die For.)

One of my favorites of the new September release dies from Dies...To Die For is the focal piece of this bridge card. It is called Dungeon/Garden Door and it opens up to show this spooky scene:

The other dies I used are called: Graveyard Minis, Metal Fence and Spooky/Blood Drip.

I had so much fun making pop up and fun fold cards for my newest video and hope these cards encourage you to try the ideas and products.

Suicide Awareness Video Hop In Loving Memory Bay Window Card

I am honored to be participating in Craft Collab’s Suicide Awareness Video Hop where each of the creators will be sharing purple and teal cards and trying to #stopthestigma around mental illness and suicide. Many of us have been touched personally by suicide and mental illness so as we share our cards, we may also be sharing our stories. In my video, I share my family’s loss and show how to make this beautiful bay window card:

I am also honored to be part of the Dies...To Die For design team and all the dies used by the participants in the video hop and on my card are from the new September release at Dies..To Die For. I learned how to make this 5 x 7 version of the bay window card from Sam at Mixed Up Crafts. Here is a side view and a template I promised I would share here in my video:

Of course you are going to want to watch the video here to see how to make this card and find out how you can be one of 4 winners of $25 gift cards to Dies...to Die For and/or my prize package of dies and the card I made valued at $34! Here is a look at the back of the card where I inlaid the beautiful Random Oval die from Dies...to Die For to create a lovely space to write a personal message:

It’s the first Saturday of a new month and time for another fun challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids! The theme for this challenge is Fall or Halloween Cards 4 Kids, but you can choose to participate in our challenge with any card appropriate for a child.

I made a slimline shaker Halloween card for the kids with a Tonic Studios slimline shaker pocket and a Tonic “spooktacular” die. But just look at what pops up when the card is opened:

The adorable pop up pumpkin was made with the Bitty Ball and Character Add Ons 1 dies from Karen Burniston and the layered sentiment die is also from KB.

Be sure to check out the rest of the cards from TEAM SAS here and we would love it if you entered our challenge.
