More 3D Embossing Folder Cards with Stencils and Mirror Cardstock

As I show in my newest video here, cards can have easy gorgeous texture by using 3D embossing folders and different kinds of paper and mediums. The brass colored mirror card on this masculine love card was embossed with a Sizzix 3D embossing folder called Cobblestone. The wood carved heart was created with a die from Impression Obsession.

I also love to use stencils with my 3D embossing folders as I did on this card. I embossed the white cardbase with an embossing folder from Stampin' Up and then brushed on green ink through a beautiful A Colorful Life stencil. I also created a stencil with Sue Wilson's sentiment dies and brushed blue ink onto the cardfront through that handmade stencil.

On my last two cards in the new video I applied Therm O Web's Transfer Gel Duo through stencils and added foil before embossing the card fronts with 3D embossing folders. This hugs card features a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and a Sizzix 3D embossing folder.

I used a stencil from Whimsy Stamps for the foiled stars and a Sizzix 3D embossing folder over a text embossing folder on this card.

I hope you will watch the new video here and see why I love 3D embossing folders so much!

Video - Cardmaking With 3D Embossing Folders - 8 Different Mediums and Papers

One of my favorite cardmaking products is 3D embossing folders and in my newest video here I share many cards made with many 3D embossing folders and different mediums and papers.

This is one of my favorite cards that I made for this video. I started with 3 colors of foil cardstock cut with a Concord and 9th Modern Mosaic cover die. After I pieced the three colors of foil back together I embossed the cardfront with a 3D embossing folder from Sizzix called Interface. It reminded me of a Southwest style pattern so I added some cacti cut with a die from Gina Marie Designs. I made a similar card  for Valentine's Day step by step in the video:

The cactus die set is called Year Round Cactus and includes decorations for the cactus for different seasons and holidays.

I created this card with a pretty 3D embossing folder and a frame die that also embosses from Crafter's Companion called Gemini Vichy Frame. "Love" is a die from Karen Burniston. I like to emboss the whole card so each side is either embossed or debossed as you can see on this picture of the inside of this card:

I attached a bow die from Kat Scrappiness to the green card front and then embossed the whole piece with a 3D Christmas Tree Pattern embossing folder from Sizzix. "Peace" is a die from Quietfire Design.

As you can see I embossed the cardbase on this card too and added a green rectangle cut with a wavy wonky stitched die from Kat Scrappiness and added another wish for the recipient. "Joy" is my favorite holiday word and is another Quietfire Design die.

I have many 3D embossing folders and created many more cards with different mediums for the new video here. I hope my cards and video inspire you to give some of these ideas and products a try.

More Laser Cut Wood Technique Cards from My Newest Video

I love to take techniques I've learned from others and change them up to make the cards my own as I did here with Gina K's Laser Cut Wood Technique and show in my newest video. I show how I used a lighter blue, violet and dark blue ink with stencils to create this awesome background. The snowflake stencil on this card is from A Colorful Life Designs and the sentiment is from CUTplorations. As I usually do, I added some gems from Gina Marie Designs to complete the card.

I recently purchased the Sizzix Mystical Nature die set and needed a night sky look for the background so I chose a galaxy stencil from The Crafter's Workshop and blue and black inks for the technique. The extra stars were also cut with a Sizzix die.

I had so much fun playing with this technique and different colors of ink and dies and thank Gina K Designs for the inspiration!

Video - Cardmaking with Gina K's Laser Cut Wood Technique

I love to play with new techniques and stencils, and I was so inspired by a recent Gina K Designs Facebook Love session where she taught her Laser Cut Wood Technique, I had to try it immediately. I played with the colors of ink that Gina K showed and then tried some different color combos and card styles and show them all in my new video here

Gina K. showed her laser cut wood technique with shades of brown and a bit of teal and this is my first card with the technique and those colors. The stencil is from Simon Says Stamp and the layered sentiment die used for the eclipse technique is from Kat Scrappiness.

This is the card I show how to make in my new video. I love the color combo of blues and purples and the slimline style is one of my favorites. I used a floral stencil from ARTplorations called Bloom Sprinkles and show the magic of having the flowers appear after putting them through a die cut machine with a rubber mat to "emboss". If you like slimline stencils, you should check out the subscriptions available at STAMPlorations where you can get 3 slimline stencils for only $18 every month, bi-monthly or quarterly. What a deal!

The butterfly die is from Sizzix and the sentiment die is from Papertrey Ink. Here is a look at the inside of this card:

As I show in the video, I tried this technique on colored cardstock but found I liked it better with the woodgrain lines more visible when I started with thick cream or white cardstock. But the patterned paper was too pretty to throw away, so I cut a butterfly for the inside of this card. I die cut the slimline rectangle inside piece with a wavy, wonky die from Kat Scrappiness because I believe those stitches make everything so much more interesting.

I show several more cards in the video and hope my cards inspire you to give this technique a try!

A fun easy to make snowman pops up to say "love you Snow much"! The snowman and sentiment dies are from Karen Burniston.

Two Special Glitter Cards Classes Available Now at Lisa Thill's Website!

I am a huge fan of Lisa Thill's mad mixed media skills and was thrilled to see recently that she is now teaching classes on line at her Created By Lisa Thill Create Learn Grow Website. Her first cardmaking class teaches an easy way to add the sparkle of glitter using frame dies. I had fun playing with her technique after taking the class and easily made the two cards I am sharing today.

I know it is early for Easter cards, but I thought this frame die would be perfect for the technique. But I got to wondering if Lisa's technique would work for dies that are not frame dies? I expanded on the idea and tried it with die and glitter alternatives too, and I am going to teach an Advanced Glitter Class with 8 different cards and it is now available to sign up for here on Lisa's website.

One of the real advantages to on-line courses is you can purchase the class and take it any time you want. You can watch part and finish later and you can watch it again and again. I know December is busy with holiday prep, but these courses are not long so you can sneak them in when you have time or save them for the new year. The cost of my Advanced Glitter Class is only $12 and if you are one of the first 8 people to sign up for the class, I will mail you one of the cards I share in the class. (Sorry I can only afford to mail to USA residents.)

I hope you will sign up for this new class where I teach die and glitter alternatives and share 8 different cards and ideas. Here is a link to where you can easily sign up and watch when you have the time to learn and enjoy. You can also sign up for Lisa's glitter class at the same website. Thank you for sharing this with other crafty family and friends.

Two More Cards with 3D Embossing Folders and Favorite Stencils

I recently had a play with new 3D embossing folders and combined those with favorite stencils to make some cards I love and show in my newest video here. The two cards I am sharing today feature a new 3D embossing folder from Stampin' Up called Bark. On my first card above I simply stenciled Barley using a stencil from Artplorations over the embossed cream background, then moved it over and added a lighter colored shadow of the barley. "Thankful" is a die from Gina K Designs. The stenciling over the texture of the embossed background looks even more awesome IRL!

I love the look of 3D embossing folders on mirror card like this brass, and no matter what is added to the top, you have an easy gorgeous card. I used some layered stencils from Gina K Designs to make monochromatic aqua flowers and leaves and added a "hello" from the same Gina K Designs "A Little Hello" stencil, die and stamp kit.

I hope you learn some new ideas in my video here about 3D embossing folders and stencils, and decide to give some of the ideas and products a try!

I am entering the first card in the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday.
