Cute Halloween or Fall Cards at Send a Smile 4 Kids With Frantic Stamper

It’s the first Saturday of a new month and time for another fun challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids! The theme for this challenge is Cute Halloween or Fall Cards 4 Kids, but you can choose to participate in our challenge with any card appropriate for a child.

My cute Halloween card is a double flap joy fold card featuring the Spider Web Stitched Background from Frantic Stamper. The front flap opens to reveal a fun scene inside:

More Sew Special Slimline Cards with The Greetery Dies and Stamps

I saw the new Notionable die set from The Greetery with the tomato pin cushion and had to buy it immediately because of the wonderful memories of my Mom at her sewing machine with the pin cushion always beside her. I loved the stitched SEW stamp too and this is the first card I designed with them. I created the textured background with Altenew's Rustic Linen stamp and added some other die cuts from the die set and the word "loved" cut with an old alphabet die set. This card is for my sister's upcoming birthday and I know she will smile with those same memories. Here is a look at the inside of this card with a stamp from the Altenew stamp set:

After I bought those sets and made this card, I saw a video from The Greetery with the Aida Cloth Texture Plate and the Stitched Sentiment Dies and I placed a second order for them. The Greetery's fantastic service meant both sets came within just a few days, and I created 5 cards that I share in my newest video here. All of the cards are slimline, and here is a mini-slimline thank you card I made:

The Stitched Sentiments Stamp Set has so many clever sewing related sentiments and this card says: "Thanks Doesn't Cut It" with a scissors that can open and close. The mini-slimline dies are from a set by Karen Burniston. Here is another slimline card I made and share in the video:

This thank you slimline card has an oval wooden frame that lifts up to share a handwritten message in. I love how all these cards turned out and know I will be spreading smiles and memories when I send them out to special people and sisters.

September Class Cards With Vellum

I  am having great fun teaching monthly  cardmaking classes at Harts N Scraps in Cedar Creek Mall in Rothschild WI. Once the classes are done, I post the cards here on my blog. The theme this month was cards made with vellum. The students made vellum overlay cards (over a gorgeous 4 layer floral stencil from Altenew), ink blending on thicker vellum, and the stretching technique. Here are the cards:

Sharing Sewing Memories on Special Slimline Cards

The memory of my mother at her sewing machine with her red tomato pin cushion brought a smile to my face when I saw the new Handiwork Collection release at The Greetery. I knew I wanted to share those memories with my sisters, and immediately bought that die set as well as several others in the release and am featuring them in my newest video here.

This is the slimline fun fold card that I show how to make step by step in the video. My favorite die from the collection is the tomato pin cushion as I can see it in my memory of my Mom at her sewing machine. I do not sew with a sewing machine, but did do counted cross stitch on Aida cloth, and the new Aida Cloth Texture Plate from The Greetery brought back those wonderful memories too. The scissors in the Notionable die set look so realistic and can be opened and closed if made with a brad as I show. Here is a look at this fun fold slimline card opened:

The scalloped stitched rectangle dies used are from Gina Marie Designs and Karen Burniston. Here is another slimline fun fold card I share in this video:

The tomato pin cushion, movable scissors, thimble, pins with colored heads in a pin holder, needle and thread as well as the spool of thread are all from the Notionable die set at the Greetery. This easel card also features the Aida Cloth Texture Plate which I easily extended for the slimline size, and the Stitched Sentiment die and stamp sets. I know my sister is going to love this birthday card! 

The new video also shows many other slimline cards I made with the wonderful dies and stamps in this release at The Greetery, and I hope my cards will encourage you to try some of the ideas and products for yourself!

To Sew or Not - We Can Choose with these Spellbinders Dies

I love dies where choices can be made to make very different cards like the new Stitched For Christmas dies from Spellbinders. This Stitched Christmas Sweater die makes adorable shaped cards like the Christmas card above but is also is perfect on an embossed A2 card base like the winter card below:

The sweater itself does not have large enough holes to stitch on it, but some have chosen to enlarge the holes with a needle and add stitched to it. In the same die set is the stitched snowflake die, the Ho Ho Ho circle which can be stitched or not and can  be made into an ornament, and the tree on the card below:

Using Seasonal Spellbinders Dies to Make Christmas Cards Or Not (Video)

I love dies that can be used in many different ways to stretch my crafty dollars and if you do too, you will want to check out the many cards I share in my newest video here featuring Spellbinders Stitched For Christmas and Snow Garden collections. My favorite of the new dies from Spellbinders is the Stitched Starry Argyle background die and I show how to make this card step by step in the new video: 

I show how to create the beautiful partial sewn background with white and gold metallic threads and then how I made the American Holly leaves and berries, as well as easy inking of the chickadee all made with the new Snow Garden dies from Susan Tierney-Cockburn. I chose holly and Christmas colors on this card, but this card uses much of the same dies without stitching for a non-holiday version:

I watched Susan's video on the new Hemlock, Cones and Chickadee die set as she is an expert on coloring and tips for her flowers and other images. I am not an expert colorist or shaper, but am still happy with how my cards turned out. Here is another card I made with new gorgeous dies from Spellbinders:

This shows a THIRD way to create lovely backgrounds with the Stitched Starry Argyle die - this time I stitched the whole  background with gold metallic thread. It doesn't take long at all because all the stitched are long. The flowers were made with the new Glory Of Snow die set from Spellbinder's Snow Garden release.

Flower Fun Folds With Dies From My Favorite Companies

Sunflowers and blue bonnets are two of my favorite flowers, and they are so cheerful on this fence fun fold card made with a new die set from Karen Burniston and featured in my newest video here. Just look what happens when this card is opened:

It stands up with three rectangle accordion folds for a cheerful display in the recipient's home! The Fence Add-Ons die works with Karen Burniston's Landscape Rectangle Accordion die to easily create this fantastic card. The grass and crosshatch rectangle dies are also from Karen Burniston and the sunflower dies are from Penny Black. 

Another favorite company where I get very reasonably priced dies from is Hot off the Press at Paper Wishes and when I saw the video and cards they made with this die set, I didn't even try to resist it! It is called Paper Artist Inside/Out Flowers and here is another picture of this pop out flower card:
