Fall or Holiday Wishes 4 Kids OR Anything Goes 4 Kids at Send a Smile 4 Kids

It’s Saturday and time for another fun challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids! This year, all challenges at SAS4Kids are Anything Goes 4 Kids! We will often have an alternative theme that you can choose to follow, but are not required to. Create and link any card that is appropriate for a child and your card could be chosen as one of our top three cards and you could join us as a guest dt member on a future challenge.

The theme for this challenge is: Fall or Holiday Wishes 4 Kids OR Anything Goes 4 Kids.

I created a fall celebration card for a special boy named Evan for this challenge. On the front I used a cute colored digi from Dollar Graphic Depot.  The inside features a frame pull up created with a new die from Karen Burniston. Look what happens when the tab is pulled:

A cute little raccoon pops up to say "love you!" The sentiment was created with a die from Honey Bee Stamps and I also used Karen Burniston’s Woodland Animals, Autumn Elements and Alphabet dies on this card.

Early Holiday Wishes 4 Kids at Send a Smile 4 Kids

My card is a CAS Christmas card that features a fun colored digi from Dollar Graphics Depot called Baby Elves. I printed the cutie and attached him to a purple cardbase. I die cut "merry & bright" from a Tim Holtz holiday script die set and attached with some purple sticker gems. 

I am entering this card in the Christmas challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday and the Anything Goes challenge at Scrapy Land (I used Tim Holtz Sizzix dies.)

I am featuring a very cute set of colored digital stamps by Dollar Graphics Depot called Crayon Puppies. I printed the orange puppy and cut him out with an oval stitched die from My Creative Time. I attached him to a top opening blue patterned cardstock base and added the sentiment. The fun for the kids happens when this card is opened:

I used Karen Burniston's Twist Panel Pop Up Die and Nature's Edges to create a fun pop up center with puppies and their red, yellow, blue and green crayons also from Dollar Graphics Depot. Too cute for a small child just learning his or hers colors!

My boy's card features a cool boy and sentiment from Dollar Graphics Depot. I started with an A2 blue card that I embossed with an embossing folder from WeR Memory Keepers. Then I printed and cut out the boy and cool sentiment and attached them for a fast CAS but fun boy's card.

My card was made with a super cute colored digital stamp from Dollar Graphic Depot called Puppy Peekers. I die cut the front of the card with a stitched rectangle die from My Creative Time. I know it is early for Easter cards but I am so over all the snow and bitter cold we have had this winter. And it is not too early to be thinking about spring and Easter cards for the kids we serve at Send a Smile 4 Kids.

I made my card with a super sweet digi from Dollar Graphics Depot called Spots the Puppy. I cut him out and popped him up on the red A2 card base over a strip of "bow wow wows" from the same digi set. I stamped the "totally pawsome" sentiment from Tonic Studios and cut out the rectangle with a stitched die from Lawn Fawn. I also die cut and added a black dog bone from Tonic Studios.

For my first card above, I used a sweet digi by Lacy Sunshine called "Snowflakes Quality Control". I printed her on white cardstock, did a little coloring with Copics and paper pieced her dress. I cut a frame with a large snowflake die from Darice and embossed the blue card front with a Swiss Dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug.

I created a gatefold card for my second card featuring "Chili Pete Loves the Snow" from Dollar Graphics Depot. I embossed the white gatefold card with a snowflake embossing folder from Sizzix. I printed Chili Pete in color, cut him out and attached him to the left side of the gatefold. I stamped "Warm Winter Wishes" on a circle and attached it to complete the CAS kid's card.

My first card above is a top folding joy fold card featuring "First Flight" from A Day for Daisies. I did a little coloring and sponging and paper pieced their outfits. The "Best Witches" is from Crackerbox Palace and is popped up to the hold the card front in place. My second card features a sweet colored digital image and sentiment from Dollar Graphics Depot called Cutie Bears-Happy Fall. I cut the images out with a couple die cuts and attached to an orange square card.

It’s Saturday and time for another fun challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids! This time our challenge is Christmas in July 4 Kids!  Create and link any holiday card for a child, and you could win one of our great prizes.

My first card above features a sweet Kitty for Christmas digital stamp from A Day for Daisies. I started the card by folding down the right corner of the green card base front at 3 3/4" down on the right and top of the card. Then I embossed the whole card with a Christmas words embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I attached a piece of white cardstock to the inside of the card. I printed ADFD's sweet Christmas Kitty on grey cardstock, on green polka-dotted and on red patterned paper. I paper pieced the stocking and ribbon onto the grey kitty. I used my scor-bug, my scor-buddy and a thin black marker to create a stitched look border and attached the kitty to the stitched square. I layered onto a red square and then onto a green square to frame the kitty square. 

My second Christmas card features a colored digital file from Dollar Graphics Depot called Beary Merry Christmas. I simply printed the sweet teddy bear in his stocking on white cardstock and cut it out with a rectangle stitched die. I printed the sentiment from the same set and cut it out with an oval stitched die. I sponged the edges of the oval with red ink and attached to the card.

For a Dad or Special Male Challenge at SAS4Kids

It’s Saturday and time for another fun challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids! This time our challenge is For a Dad or Special Male (From the Kids)! Create and link any card for a male that would be appropriate for a child to give, and you could win one of our great prizes.

We are featuring cards for Dads this time to highlight the type of card we are currently looking for. We would love for each child inpatient in the 13 children’s hospitals we now serve to be able to pick out a card for their Dad or any loved male to give them on Father’s Day. To give a child the gift of giving is one of the best things you can do. Or maybe the card would be for Dad’s or Grandpa’s birthday. Thanks for helping us with this mission.

My second card is a Father's Day card featuring the sweet "Patches Gone Fishing" from Crafty Sentiments. I paper pieced him and his frog buddy, sponged the sky and water, and cut the scene out with a round Nesties die. I attached a burlap strip on a navy blue strip and added some gems. The sentiment is an old one from TAC.

Isn't Snowball Scott from A Day for Daisies cute? I printed and cut him out, then paper pieced his sweater and hat. I stamped some snowflakes, sponged a sky and glittered some snowbanks on a top folding A2 card. Then I raised the side pieces with mounting tape, and attached Snowball Scott. CAS but cute for one of our kids.

For my second card, I printed and cut out a sweet winter scene and the great sentiment from Dollar Graphics Depot. I created an easel card and popped the sentiment up on pop dots to hold the card open. I added some gems to complete the card.

My first card above features Birthday Fishes by Bugaboo. I just love this stamp- so fun for kids! I printed him on gold paper and again on several dps and paper pieced the fish, his hat and the bubbles. I added some strips of the blue paper and attached all to a kraft card.

My second card is a gate-fold easel card featuring sweet colored digital stamps from the Alyssa the Birthday Girl set from Dollar Graphics Depot. I simply printed two of the girls, cut them out and placed on either side of the front gate-fold. This what the inside easel part looks like: 

I attached another sweet birthday girl and the sentiment, all from the same set of colored digital stamps. The Birthday Girl is raised with pop dots to hold up the inside easel.  I learned how to make this unique fold on Dayonna's blog here. 

Valentines 4 Kids Challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids

Happy New Year everyone! It’s Saturday and time for another fun challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids! This time our challenge is Valentines 4 Kids. Create and link any Valentine themed card for a child and you could win one of our great prizes. We start early thinking about Valentines, because we would love for each of our kids in the hospitals we serve to receive a Valentine and that means delivering them around the 1^st of February. You do not have to send in your cards to enter our challenges, but our kids would sure love it if you did.

My first card above is an easel card made with "My Bunny Valentine" by Rajv's Graphics from Dollar Graphics Depot. She is pre-colored so all I had to do was cut her out with a scalloped heart die from Spellbinders and add some sparkly punched hearts. The sentiment piece that holds up the easel is made with a digi from Doodle Pantry and some more punched sparkly hearts. 

My second Valentine for our kids is a telescoping card using sweet "Happy Valentine's Day to Ewe" digis by Bugaboo. I am sharing pictures of the card closed and open. I paper pieced the Valentine lamb in the top circle, and printed her smaller and colored her in the bottom circle. One advantage of digital stamps is that you can print them any size you would like. I did a little coloring with gel pens and attached thelayers together with brads.

My last Valentine features Nolan with a Heart by Fred She Said. I love colored digis and don't feel a bit guilty about just printing and cutting out to make another CAS Valentine for our kids. I embossed the background with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and did it again to get the pink conversation heart UR GR8.

My first card above features Poppi Surf from Bugaboo. Isn't he sweet? I colored him with Copics, paper pieced the surf board and cut the image out. He is standing on sand made with torn and sponged cork paper and the sun is from Silhouette America. I am entering this card in the "At the Beach" challenge at The Crafter's Cafe'.

My second card features Silly Turtle-Summertime by Cheryl Seslar at Dollar Graphics Depot in a Polaroid frame from Silhouette America. I simply printed him as he is a colored digi and popped him in the frame. The background is an embossing folder from Sizzix. I am entering this card in the "Ice Cream" challenge at Charisma Cardz.

I did a  third card this week because I fell in love with these sweet puppies from the Rosie with Flower collection at Fred She Said. In the file from Fred She Said you get Rosie and her flower in all sorts of colors, so I cut out two of them with a hexagon die and added the other hexagons in a fun pattern to complete the CAS card.

My first card above features a sweet Mama and baby duck from A Day for Daisies. I paper pieced them in yellow polka dots to match and colored their bows and feet. I cut three blue pennants, layered them and embossed the whole bottom piece with my Swiss Dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I added a ribbon and some doodling to complete the card.

My first card features a super cute Bee and Flower from Delicious Doodles which I paper pieced with several papers. I cut him out with a lacey circle die from Spellbinders, layered it on another yellow lacey circle and wove black and white baker's twine in and out before tying a bow at the top. It is a fun way to frame a CAS image.

My second card features two sweet Skating Kids by Alice Smith for Dollar Graphics Depot. I created an oval skating rink for them with some silver paper and cut the bottom of the card in that shape as well. The sweet images were pre-colored so I just cut them out and attached, then added a perfect sentiment (from Crackerbox Palace) to complete the card for one of our kids.
