Three More Stenciled Slimline Cards From My Newest Video

Another fun and easy stencil idea that I share in this card for my newest video is to double stencil. I created the balloon with a stencil from My Favorite Things and then stenciled the fun Boho Glam pattern with a 6  x 9 stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. As I have been sharing all week, the 6 x 9 stencils are a perfect size to use with slimline cards because they are big enough for the card front without trying to continue the pattern by moving and lining up the stencil again. But of course they are also perfect for a smaller area such as in the balloon stencil with a darker peach ink on this card. I repeated that idea on the inside of the card: 

Most of the sentiment dies on the front and inside of this card are from Karen Burniston. The happy "balloon string" on the front is from Poppystamps and the balloons on the inside were cut with a die from Die-namics. 

I am loving the new Iridescent Mirror Card from Tonic Studios because of the gorgeous rainbow of color it creates in light! I stenciled black Staz-on ink through a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called 50 Shades and die cut the card front with a slimline die from Gina Marie Designs. Hello is a die from Tonic Studios and "beautiful" was cut with a new die from The Greetery. I also created this slimline easel card with 4 shades of Iridescent Mirror Card from Tonic Studios:

Another technique you can do with stencils is to emboss with them as I did on this card front after attaching the 4 colors of iridescent mirror card together and cutting the piece with slimline border dies from Pinkfresh Studios. Thank You is a die from Karen Burniston and the stamped sentiment on the popped up strip holding the easel up is from Repeat Impressions.

It's Your Birthday, You Can Wine If You Want to!

Today I am sharing an interactive birthday card I made after watching this video from Karen Burneston for Elizabeth Crafts. On the front of this square card, I have used Simon Says Stamps Wine Aerobics stamps, the birthday wine sentiment stamp from Repeat Impressions and the stitched wine glass and circle dies from My Creative Time. Cute enough, but wait until you open the card:

I have the Twist Circle Pop Up die from Elizabeth Crafts and used it (following the instructions in the video linked above) to create this Pop It Up Twist Circle Window Card. I stamped the inside sentiment with a stamp from the Simon Says Stamp set. The inside circle fits into the circle opening on the front and then twists and pops up when the card is opened.

Holy Crap! It's a Blog Hop!

I was so happy when Wendy asked me to design with this new lol stamp set from Repeat Impressions and then participate in this blog hop! I love using humor in my cards so this set is perfect for me and to put smiles on the recipient’s faces! I made two Z Fold cards to show off the funny stamps. Z Fold cards are easy and fun to make. Simply cut a card base that is 4 ¼” x 11” and a strip (or two like below) 1” x 11”. Score both at 2 ¾” and 5 ½” and then decorate. This card will fold to fit into an A2 envelope. My first Z Fold card above would make a funny congrats card with the “you’re on a roll”, “that’s fantastic”, tp and out house along with the featured “holy crap!” 

My second Z Fold card is for a friend who is my age and has a great sense of humor. I added two strips on this Z Fold card with “29…again?!”, “it’s your birthday”, “time to celebrate” and the outhouse again. I added some black gems and of course featured the lol “holy crap!” again. Kitty Window Joy Fold Card

Animal Magic is the theme of my favorite challenge to enter at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge and I found another animal card I designed for a magazine article but have never blogged to share with you today. This kitty looking out a window is one of my favorite stamps from Repeat Impressions and I stamped him on a pretty blue dp pieced that is folded in half and attached to the inside kraft side of another folded two sided piece of cardstock. The card base was created with Tim Holtz's Kraft-core cardstock from Core'dinations. The two folds together are known as a "joy fold" card. CAS but the pretty stamp makes this card perfect for any cat lover.

I started my card by stamping the new dotted rectangle frame on a striped piece of designer paper from Graphic 45. I stamped the other three frames in this release on coordinating pieces of Graphic 45 designer paper and cut them out. I stamped “Celebrating You” on the top layer and popped up each layer on mounting tape. I stamped and cut out a couple small flowers from the last Flower Power Background and Borders release and added some Tonic Nuvo black Crystal Drops to complete the card.

I started my card by stamping the new Flower Power Background stamp (found here on the RI website) with orange ink on orange cardstock for a tone on tone look. Then I stamped it again on white cardstock , then stamped the lovely new Wavy Circle Frame and cut it out. I colored the flowers in the highlighted Wavy Circle with markers and attached it back in the exact spot on the card front. I layered that piece on black and then on a white A2 card front. These new oval and round frames are perfect for adding a sentiment or highlighting images on your cards! Take a look at the inside of my card where I stamped with the Wavy Oval and Dotted Oval to highlight the "Forever Friends" sentiment from Repeat Impressions.

I love the new Flower Power Background stamp and stamped it twice – once with blue ink on the blue background, then moved it slightly and stamped with white ink. I attached that easy and beautiful background piece on a white A2 card base. I stamped RI's “Knowing you makes my heart happy” with blue ink and added two pretty flowers from the Flower Power Backgrounds and Borders set. I attached the sides letting the center of the strip pop up and added some white Nuvo Crystal Drops to complete the CAS card.

I created two cards with the Flower Power Separates stamp set. I am fascinated with using positives and negatives with either stamps or dies with totally different results. On both of my cards I used white embossing powder, sponging with distress inks, stamps from the new RI flower set and the “You Cling Set” and some bling. But because some of the flowers were an outline and some were solid, the look is totally different.

Let's Create Tonic Studios 3D Classes Announced PLUS Repeat Impresssions News

I had so much fun teaching classes at Let's Create this weekend featuring my favorite Tonic Studio dies and Crystals Drops, Franki and I have scheduled another two classes for June. The new classes will feature Tonic Studios 3D projects and here are pictures of the samples:

Anything Goes in my last Repeat Impressions Challenge Blogpost

Happy Wednesday everyone! It's time for another fun challenge at Repeat Impressions. If there is a 5^th Wednesday in the month, the challenge is my favorite: Anything Goes! Make any card and link it up for a chance at some great Repeat Impressions rubber! For all the details on what you can win and to see the other Rock Stars cards, please visit our blog.

I am fascinated with shaker cards especially when there are more than one shaker. I used the smallest square die in Repeat Impression’s Flip Die Set to cut the three diagonal openings in the card front. Then I laid the card front on a craft sheet on an electric griddle and melted some embossing powders around the edge for a fun look. I stamped “Dream Big” and then flipped the piece over on my Scor-buddy. I applied some acetate over the square holes and created individual shakers with two layers of mounting tape around each square.  I added some colored sequins and beads to each window. Here is a picture of how that looked, and also one with the shaker elements all shook up:

I find that attaching the front to a shaker card is easiest if it is the same size as the shaker layer and I push both layers into the left upper corner of the Scor-buddy (or any scoring tool) and attach them lining it up that way.

Today is my last day on the Repeat Impression’s design team. I have been a member of the Rock Stars for over five years now. Wendy gave me my first chance to be on a design team and I have enjoyed every minute of designing with her wonderful stamps. But it is time for a change and I decided I needed to free up some time to pursue some other adventures. I thank Wendy and Bill and Repeat Impressions for everything and hope to be a part of some blog hops occasionally with my friends on this wonderful team.

It's time for another fun sketch challenge at The House that Stamps Built and we are challenging you to make a card using the sketch below and link it up for a chance at some great Repeat Impressions rubber! I started this card with three shades of pink on a card base following the sketch below. I embossed the whole card with an embossing folder by Sizzix. I stamped Bella, one of my favorite all time Repeat Impression’s stamps, on kraft paper and on pink cardstock and pink dp. I cut them out and paper pieced her sweet outfit. I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with a Sizzix tag die.

Happy Easter Bunny Card

I needed an Easter card for a loved one and designed this CAS card with some NBUS (never before used schtuff.) I embossed the bunny embossing folder from Darice, masked the bunny and sponged with my favorite new sponging tool, Creative Expressions Smoothies. I love how easy this new sponging product applies ink of any kind! I die cut the sweet bunny from Die-namics in a light pink and created a darker pink background. I raised the bunny on pop dots and stamped the Happy Easter sentiment (from Repeat Impressions) to complete the card.

On the third Wednesday of every month at Repeat Impression’s blog, The House that Stamps Built, the challenge is going to be an Inspiration Photo challenge. Here is the photo chosen to inspire us this month:

I was inspired by the sweet kitty colored with Easter egg dye. I chose Repeat Impression’s Persian cat and I stamped in black ink on white and cut him out. I sprinkled some Brusho Coloured Crystals on watercolor paper and spritzed it with water. I stamped and cut out some Easter eggs from the Brusho colored sheet. I also added some Brusho splots of color on our grumpy Persian kitty. I attached all the pieces to a yellow card base and stamped Happy Easter to complete the card.

More Than One Fold DCC at Repeat Impressions

It’s another Designer’s Choice Challenge at The House that Stamps Built, Repeat Impression’s blog. It is Patti’s turn and her theme is “More Than One Fold”. I decided to try a many fold card called Double Display Card that I learned how to make here on this blog. The picture above shows the card standing up and open. Here is the front of the card closed with a ribbon: 

On the left side of the front of the card I stamped Repeat Impression’s “Reach for the Stars” and die cut the star flourish from Memory Box. On the right front panel, I heat embossed RI’s star background with gold embossing powder. Here is a close-up look at the inside of the card:

I heat embossed one more RI star and stamped the perfect sentiment from the “you” stamp collection. I added some confetti embossed pieces (SU embossing folder) at the top and bottom folds on the card.

Die-Versions Fancy Egg Easter Card

Hope you are having a great day! It's my turn to post a card on Die-Version's blog and mine, and I am sharing this  Easter card featuring Die-Version’s beautiful new Fancy Egg die cut. This die is part of a brand new release you can find here on the Die-Versions website. I rounded the corners of a white A2 card front, sprinkled green embossing powder around the edges and melted it from under the piece using an electric griddle. I cut the Fancy Egg die out of lavender and blue designer paper and layered those over the same colored oval shapes. I attached the eggs and stamped “Happy Easter” from Repeat Impressions.

I love this color combo! I chose to create a Flip Card with the colors and Repeat Impression’s famous flip stamps and dies. I cut the pink squares and strip using the Flip Stitch Die set found here on the website. I stamped the sweet Hugs flip stamp set on kraft squares and attached all the squares on a flip card spine also purchased at Repeat Impressions. I stamped Repeat Impression’s Cottontail Rabbit with brown ink on a white square and layered it on a green square and rounded all the corners. I embossed a pink card base with an embossing folder with small flowers. I created a sparkly bright strip with a variety of glitters on a sticky strip and attached it diagonally on the card. I stamped “Some Bunny”, cut it out with deckle scissors and attached.
