Pinkfresh Studio Create and Connect Class Cards

I just finished a weekend full of classes as part of the Pinkfresh Studio Create and Connect. We received a whole box of stamps, dies, stencils and other goodies and then 6 amazing instructors taught us how to make a bunch of lovely cards. My favorite of all the supplies we received were the Fluttering Butterflies wide washi tape with matching stamps, stencils (to color easily!) and dies. The picture above shows the two cards we learned how to make with the amazing Anett Gelencser. I loved all the dimension of the card designs! Then she shared an extra idea on how to use the leftover butterflies we inked for the first card:

I loved this whole card - the right side is vellum so we can see the pink shading in the inside of the card. We also received in our box the set of unique Notched Corner Frames and the textured Stitched Octagon Coverplate die and I used them in almost all my cards. We also received a whole set of gorgeous mixed fonts stamps with matching dies that you see on most of my cards.  We were told most of the amazing products we received will be available on their website in the near future. The Lantern Botanicals set of dies, stamps and stencils (which I will share on Friday here) is available now in the new release here.

My favorite part of any of these weekends of classes is when the GOAT Jennifer McGuire takes all the supplies we received and shows us unique and fun ways to mix them up. She showed us several cards in her video and then two more extras. Here is the card I made with similar supplies to hers:

The gatefold opens with a stacked frame cover- love everything about this card! We also were given written instructions for two more make and takes with each set designed by some of the other talented teachers, and here are two I made with those as inspiration along with a shaker card I designed with leftover pieces on my desk and the gorgeous jewels we received:

Can you tell I LOVED this butterfly set of stamps, stencils, dies and especially the wide washi tape?? This is just the cards I made with this set as well as the extra products we received. Come back Friday to see what I created with the rest of this package and the lessons in the rest of the classes.

Crealies New Fun Fold Design for Cards and Table Decorations

I didn’t think I could find a totally new shaped fun fold card, but Crealies did it! The newest release at Crealies includes 4 versions of their On the Move Design S die sets that create free standing fun fold cards that you can mail in slimline or legal size envelopes. I share several samples and in the new video I create a sparkly table decoration for a special birthday.

The card above was created with the On the Move #29 die set and the new Rainbow Partzz die set for a friend who is feeling under the weather.

This card was created with the On The Move #27 die set and the new Charms Xtra die set. These cards have a set of slots that hold the card for display and can be undone so the card lays flat to mail. Here is another picture of this card:

I thought this design would be fun to create a sparkly table decoration for a special birthday party coming up, and show how easy it is to make one in the new video:

The layered decorative elements on the front and back are included in this On The Move #27 die set, and I decorated this with stars cut with silver holographic Crealies Stars with Rough Edges. Here is another view of this fun table decoration:

Masked Magic With Shaving Foam , Re-Inkers and Die Cuts

I sure had fun playing with shaving cream, re-inkers, Masking Magic and die cuts for my newest video here. I showed how I die cut the beautiful Paper Roses Butterfly Cover Plate out of Gina K Designs Masking Magic, then dumped it into shaving foam mixed with blue and purple re-inkers. After it was dry, I removed the mask and this fun background was the result. Here is one I made with the same die and pink and blue re-inkers:

Here is another card I made with green and blue re-inker, shaving cream and a favorite frame die from Taylored Expressions.

I hope my cards my and my new video encourage you to give some of these ideas and the products a try and then send some of your handmade joy out into our world!

Masking Magic With Shaving Foam and Dies

What happens when you combine some Masking Magic, shaving foam, re-inkers and your die cuts? Magic is a good word for it! I was inspired by the brilliant Gina K recently to try playing again with shaving foam and re-inkers. She used strips of her Masking Magic with shaving cream to create a plaid background and it made me wonder - can I create masked backgrounds with my dies and shaving cream? The answer is a resounding yes, and I share many cards and tips with this technique in my new video here.

This is one of the cards I made in the new video. I created a mask with Gina K Designs Masking Magic and coffee cup die from Picket Fence Studios and showed how to mix teal and purple re-inker into shaving foam to create this fun background. The sentiment die is from a set by Concord & 9th.

Here are two more cards I shared with this beautiful die set- one with pink and blue re-inkers and one that is a traditional die cut card:

I had great fun playing with shaving cream, die re-inkers, Masking Magic and die cuts for my new video and you will see many more cards and how easy it is to make them watching here.

Karen Burniston and Celebrations Delivered Candle Accordion Card

This last Saturday I participated in the Celebrations Delivered one day class from Scrapbook and Cards Today and I loved  the large candle dies and stamps in our kit. They reminded me that I wanted to make a card with my new Birthday Candle Add-ons from Karen Burniston that go with her previously released Fancy Label Accordion. Here is a look of the full accordion card:

This fun card is 4 pages long and so big it is hard to get a good picture of it. The "celebrate" script die on the last page is also from our Celebrations kit. The card will fold down to mail and here is a look at the front when folded:

More Solar and Lunar Paste Beauties from My Newest Video

Solar Pastes from Simon Hurley make gorgeous backgrounds and are so easy to apply through a stencil for patterned shiny looks like the stars on this card. I used a Falling Stars stencil from Kat Scrappiness and then added a die cut background cut with a die from Gina Marie Designs. These are just a few of the many cards I share in my newest video here.

I had fun with a Spellbinders Diagonal Buffalo Plaid stencil to make this card. I applies Simon's Royal Flush purple Solar Paste through the first layer, then shifted the stencil and added some blue dye reinker to the same purple Solar Paste so the color shifts to blue or purple depending on how you look at it. I added some white spatters and pink Lunar Paste larger spatters before cutting it for a fun card front.

Mixed media cards like the two above are not my typical style but I did have fun making them with these amazing pastes and some stencils from A Colorful Life Designs and Stamperia.

I hope my cards encourage you to give some of the ideas and products a try and then send some of your handmade joy out into our world!

Celebrations Delivered On Line Class Cards

This weekend I participated in the Celebrations Delivered on line classes from Scrapbook and Cards Today. One of the beautiful stamps we received was a gorgeous floral bouquet and here are three cards I made using that stamp in 3 very different ways:

The first card is a version of one taught by Mindy Eggen, the second from a class by Meghann Andrews and the 3rd I learned how to do from the GOAT, Jennifer McGuire. Here is a peak at the inside of the last card featuring a stamp from Magnusen Stamps I have been meaning to use:

I loved the idea that Meghan Andrews taught so much, but I screwed up my first two and kept trying until I got it right:

The recipients will never know I made mistakes on these cards, but I did. The card that was taught was an A2 sized card, but on my sympathy card, I made it slightly larger so that beautiful floral background showed more. Here are three more cards I made my own way after watching the classes:

Stenciling With Lunar and Solar Pastes

Solar pastes from Simon Hurley with their iridescent metallic color shift make easy gorgeous backgrounds, but what happens when we add in stencils, rub-ons and lunar pastes? Cardmaking magic is what I call it and show in my newest video here.

Wondering what the difference is between Simon Hurley's Solar Pastes and Lunar Pastes? Lunar Pastes are colored opaque metallic pastes in the color palette of Simon's Create Line. Solar Pastes are all a creamy white pate with an iridescent metallic color shift when it hits the light.

Layered stencils like this one from Trinity Stamps are perfect for adding Solar and Lunar pastes in the same shades for a lovely easy to make "hooray" card.

I started with a background of Solar Paste and then simply attached Hero Arts rub-ons to make this beautiful card.

I show many more cards and how to use these products in different ways, so watch the new video here and then try some of the ideas and products when you can!

February Class Cards - Celebrating Birthdays with Embossing Folder Techniques

I love to play with embossing folders and new techniques, and in this post I am sharing the 4 cards I taught this month at Harts n Scraps, a paper crafting store here in Rothschild, WI. The card above featured the double embossed technique, and do you believe the card below was made with the same embossing folder from Sizzix?

The card front is flat but was embossed with the wax resist technique, and the HB was cut out and raised using the eclipse technique. Here are the other two embossing folder cards I taught:

One is feminine and one is masculine, and show masking, smooshing and spattering with embossing folders. I have great fun designing for and teaching these classes, so if you are local you should check them out (and all the bargains at Harts n Scraps!)

More Fun Folds with Rub-on Transfer Beauty

I made this fun easel card in just minutes with vellum and rub-on transfers from Scrapbook.com. I share this and many other fun fold cards with rub-ons in my newest video here. Here is a diagonal joy fold card with more vellum and rub-ons from 49 & Market and Scrapbook.com:

Rub on transfers such as the script shown from Hero Arts make lovely backgrounds and can be stenciled on with ink for even more interest. I chose the Sweater Knit stencil from A Colorful Life Designs because I was featuring the knitting die cuts from Concord and 9th on this diamond flip card. Here is a look at the inside of this card with more script and stenciled beauty as well as more die cuts from Concord & 9th:

A different kind of rub-ons available nowadays is adhesive transfers like those shown from Pink and Main. After rubbing on the adhesive transfers, foil, glitter or embossing powder can be added, and I chose foil on patterned paper and mirror card as well as on the floating  acetate strip across this slimline bridge card. The stencil on the background is from A Colorful Life Designs.
