Pink and Main Class Cards

I love dies that easily create pop up or interactive cards and I recently took two classes from Pink and Main that included several fun dies and a great cupcake embossing folder. This card was made with many pieces from the Celebrate Pop Up Card die set we received as part of the Birthday Bash event. I really liked the embossed candles and  the bow from that set and used them on several of the cards I made. This card lays flat to mail and then stands for display.

One of the cards taught in the class used this sketch and I changed it out to use many of the decorative dies from the set. 

In the SCT Cardmaking Delivered classes I took last month, we received Pink and Main's Pull and Surprise die set. I combined it with some rainbow paper we received in this kit as well as the candles. This card opens like this and then closes to mail like this:

More SCT Crop and Create Cards from the Weekend

In addition to all the dies, stamps, stencils, paper etc. in the huge box we receive for Scrapbook and Cards Today Crop and Create Cardmaking Delivered, we also receive this amazing bound book with all the written instructions and pictures we can refer back to anytime. The two cards shown were made with Gentle Giant dies and stamps from Hero Arts.

Gina K Designs taught us how to make 3 beautiful sympathy cards with her stamps, stencils and dies. Here are the other two I made:

I love rub ons and interactive cards and this was a favorite taught by Scrapbook.com. The birds, branch and sentiment all slide up and down with the hidden message. I also made these two cards in her class:

Spellbinders kit included these unique dies and positive stamped messages as well as the fun bubbly embossing folder. Here are a couple more cards I made in class:

Brutus Monroe gave us his washi strips and washi maps and the clouds and raindrops seemed perfect for this new die and stamp set from Spellbinders.

Overlaying Amazing Sparkle on Toner Foiled Fun Folds

Have you seen the new kind of foils called Overlay Foils that add a mystical or magical shine and shimmer to toner sheets and your cards? In my new video here, I play with Overlay Foils from Gina K Designs, Brutus Monroe and Taylored Expressions. I show how to add the extra sparkle you see above by running the toner patterned cardstock and plain toner sheets through a MINC with Gina K's new Mystic Shine Overlay Foil. The card design is called Double Decker Pop Out card and is perfect for the three different layers of foiled beauty. The Toner Card Front I started with is called Design Haven and is from Deco Foil and Therm O Web. 

Here is another double decker fun fold I made with foiled panels. I started with a Flowers in the Breeze Foilable from Pink and Main that has a layered stencil to add blended color to the flowers. The second layer was not stenciled but I did add sparkle with a Gina K Designs Mystic Shine Overlay. The front layer was the 2nd generation of foiling with a Taylored Expressions Opalescent overlay on top.

The new overlay foils also work great on toner printed pattern paper and I started with that on this card and added the GKD Mystic Shine to those panels as well as to the black toner sheet on layer two.

Who Said Shaker Pouches Have to Shake or Be Flat??

After making a card with an embossed Pink and Main Shaker cover I just had to get some more! I shared a bunch of embossed shakers in my new video here. But I wondered what else I could do with the rest of the shaker covers as we get 10 in a package. Creating with acetate can be difficult because thick acetate is not easy to score and fold, and attaching it is also difficult. I decided to cut off three of the adhesive tab sides of the Pink and Main Shaker Covers and here are the cards I made with that idea:

I simply applied a 49 and Market rub on transfer to the acetate cover along with some Tim Holtz fabric tape. The die cut sentiment is on the inside blue card base.

Both of these cards were made with embossed Pink and Main shaker covers that had 3 sides cut off so they are attached on one side only, and were decorated inside and out with 49 and Market Laser Elements over their patterned cardstock. The embossed acetate adds such texture but is hard to show in still photographs.

This card shows a way to use the Pink and Main shaker cover without any shaker bits. I attached a large rub on transfer over an embossed piece of cardstock and sealed all four sides. I will be honest that I tried a brand of rub on transfers other than my usual current favorites like 49 and Market, Graphic 45 and Hero Arts and do not recommend them. They were so hard to work with and get both covers off that this is the last card I will make with them. So you  can learn from my mistake:)

Pink and Main Shaker Covers With Gorgeous Embossed Texture

In the Crop and Create Cardmaking weekend of classes I participated in recently, Michelle of Pink and Main showed us how to make the easiest shaker card ever with her A2 Shaker Covers and mentioned they could be embossed in embossing folders. I was intrigued and loved the look when I embossed this one with a Spellbinders embossing folder we also received in our box of supplies. The paper and sentiment were from other kits. I decided I had to get more Pink and Main A2 Shaker covers and explore this idea further and here is the card I make step by step in my new video:

I used 49 and Market Rub On Transfers and Laser Elements to decorate this card both on the acetate itself and on the inside. The sentiment is from Concord and 9th and the shaker gems are from Kat Scrappiness. 

Here is another card I made with an embossed shaker cover and these beautiful rub-on transfers are from Graphic 45. And here is a card I made with the shaker cover from Pink and Main and 49 and Market laser elements and cardstock. 

As you can see these shaker covers are lovely with and without embossing with embossing folders. In the new video I show how these A2 Shaker Covers do not have to be used to make shakers and so many cards, I have to share them in a separate blogpost which you  can see on Wednesday of this week.

Square Column Fun Folds with the Brilliance of Foil

I get very excited about new fun folds and new products, and my new video here combines both of those on all the cards I share. In a recent make and take I learned how to make a Square Column fun fold card and all my cards are in that format and also feature foiled toner printed designs. 

I made the card on the right in the new video showing how to foil a toner card front from Deco Foil and then do a 2nd generation foiling with colored toner sheets from Pink and Main. The card on the left features the same Lavish Lace Toner Card Front from Deco Foil with rainbow foil. Both cards have foiled sentiments and butterflies from Pink and Main's Amazing Butterflies Foilables Cut Ups.

Here is a template on how to make the Square Column Fun Fold card as I show step by step in the video:

Foilables are toner printed designs and I bought the Buffalo Plaid Foilable and the gorgeous Waterfall Teal Cheer Foil from Pink and Main in their booth at Simon Says Create. Of course they are also available on their website here. I share also the three ways we can now do a 2nd generation of foiling  - the traditional Black Toner Sheets as I used to create the Buffalo Plaid with the black on the right side of the card above; white toner sheets from Pink and Main or white Poly-Glaze Sheets from Gina K Designs; and colored toner sheets from Pink and Main such as these here.

Can you tell I love this new to me and easy to make fun fold? The square column can be on the right or the left and the card folds flat to fit in an A2 envelope. I made the top one of these two with new Vintage Flourish Poly Glaze Foiling Sheets from Gina K Designs, and the bottom one with a pretty toner card from from Unity and Deco Foil.

Tonic Studios Bulbs and Bolts Cards

One of the nicest things about the recent Simon Says Create convention I attended was the chance to visit with old friends like Gary and Samantha Torres from Tonic Studios. I loved my time on the Tonic Studios design team and am still a fan of Tonic's products. We made the card above with a new set of dies and stamps from Tonic Studios called Bulbs and Bolts and I had to buy the set because it is perfect for guys cards which I never have enough of. 

I used the pieces of another make and take to finish this card as a shaker card:

And then I decided to make another shaker card with all the nuts and bolts in a shaker card front from Pink and  Main:

More Toner Foiled Beauty Without Expensive Hot Foil Dies or Machines

Here is another version of the fun fold with new Deco Foil colors that I demo how to make in my newest video here. As I show, Deco Foil has many new colors of foil in their Color Harmony collections and Gina  K Designs has new White Poly-Glaze Sheets to capture all that gorgeous foil without any waste. Here is another card I shared with Deco Foil's Toner Card Fronts, new foil and White poly-Glaze for the 2nd run through my MINC:

But what if you don't want black or white for the 2nd color? There is now another choice - multi-colored toner sheets from Pink & Main. Look at the flowers in this card- the second foiling with the left over foil are pink and blue, not white or black because I used a Color Art Toner Sheet from Pink & Main.

Pink & Main has many other toner foil products too, and on these masculine cards I used their Big Happy Foilable panels and new colored foils from Deco Foil:

After watching, I hope I have reminded you how fun toner foil can be as an alternative to hot foiling!

More Fun Folds with Rub-on Transfer Beauty

I made this fun easel card in just minutes with vellum and rub-on transfers from Scrapbook.com. I share this and many other fun fold cards with rub-ons in my newest video here. Here is a diagonal joy fold card with more vellum and rub-ons from 49 & Market and Scrapbook.com:

Rub on transfers such as the script shown from Hero Arts make lovely backgrounds and can be stenciled on with ink for even more interest. I chose the Sweater Knit stencil from A Colorful Life Designs because I was featuring the knitting die cuts from Concord and 9th on this diamond flip card. Here is a look at the inside of this card with more script and stenciled beauty as well as more die cuts from Concord & 9th:

A different kind of rub-ons available nowadays is adhesive transfers like those shown from Pink and Main. After rubbing on the adhesive transfers, foil, glitter or embossing powder can be added, and I chose foil on patterned paper and mirror card as well as on the floating  acetate strip across this slimline bridge card. The stencil on the background is from A Colorful Life Designs.
