Surprise- More Eclipse Cards with Slatted Dies from CraftAddictionUK

I have been having so much fun with new dies from Craft Addiction UK I received from Clipper Street Scrapbook Company out of Canada. I wanted their Checkerboard set because you get 4 different sizes of checkerboards and you get a separate edge die you can choose to use or not. I found some pretty floral designer paper I had two sheets of and made this card in just minutes. 

The Club Scrap Luminary Card Kit was sitting here and so I decided to use the perfect combo of colors in that kit to make these two cards. On the first one I cut strips of 3 colors of cardstock for behind the checkerboard squares. On the second one I added the patterned squares from the first one in diagonal strips and both feature sentiments and decorative elements from the kit. 

I saw a video where someone had taken the strips cut out from glitter foam and attached them on top of another slatted shape so they were raised. I like finding new ways to eclipse and so I tried it. I made two ornaments out of the glitter foam and now have one more card for my Christmas card stash done.

Club Scrap Luminary Cards

Have you tried a cardmaking kit from Club Scrap yet? They have monthly subscription plans for cardmakers and scrappers, but you can choose to buy each kit individually. They also have great sales on previous kits. I picked up the Luminary kit recently and loved the color choices and embellishments we received. I made two cards just as the video taught and am sharing them today. The kits include sentiment pieces for the front and inside which I love. This card has many folds as you can see on this picture:

See all that lovely ribbon and the gold coin and the see through pouch? All were included in the card kit along with the gorgeous paper and instructions to make 4 different cards. Here is the inside of this card with such a fun sentiment:

Slatted Dies- To Eclipse or Not?

Have you seen the new slatted dies out of the UK? They are perfect for eclipse cards but for so much more than that too. I played and designed a bunch of cards for my newest video here. I layered three sizes of the Slatted Stars for this CAS card using cardstock and colors from a Club Scrap kit I own. 

The Slatted Hearts die set from Craft Addictions UK has both vertical and horizontal options so I layered the two before attaching to a card created with a Pinpoint Burst Plate from Memory Box and gold Stardream Metallic Cardstock from CutCardStock. 

But as I show in the new video, my favorite way to use these slatted dies is still with the eclipse technique. I made two cards in the video and one was a triple butterfly easel eclipse card shown here:

Isn't that pretty? And not hard to make as I show here in the video. The copper cardstock is a new favorite from CutCardStock called Stardream Metallic.

I also tried an eclipsed shaker card and it was a success. However the sand and tiny stars that shake do not show up real well in a still photo so you might want to watch the video to see how easy and fun this card was to make:

Sassy Cards With Club Scrap Kits

I love using humor in my cards and so could not resist a card kit from Club Scrap called Sassy. After purchasing the kit, I watched their video and learned how to make this card do this:

So true and so funny!! Here are two more cards I made with this kit and the same fun pop up motion:

These cards lay flat to mail and are sure to make the recipient laugh out loud.

Gorgeous Dies and Papers from My Latest Adventure

I have never been to a huge stamp and scrapbook show before, and was thrilled to attend the show recently in Novi, Michigan with some friends. I saw so many new products and learned so much and now am playing each day with the new treasures I found. 

These cards feature a new die called Clouds-Stained Glass from a company that is new to me - Brass & Bliss. They used to be Rubbernecker Stamps but the owner's son is now the owner and is designing many amazing dies and stamps that they displayed in a booth they shared with The Paper Cut out of Appleton. These cards also feature paper I bought at the show in a kit called Abundance from Club Scrap. I loved the color combinations of the papers in this kit and used them on the cards below as well:

This is the A2 Fan Fold card I learned how to make from Frenchie on her website here and this switched around to teach in my new video this week. 

One thing I love about Club Scrap's card kits is that they include sentiments to use if we choose to, and I did with some of the left over triangles after making the fan fold. Here is an A2 version and a 5x7 version both made with some more of the gorgeous paper and leaves in the Abundance Card Kit:

Soaring with Dina Wakley Embossing Inspiration

I have a new favorite embossing folder and it inspired me to make a bunch of cards which I share in my new video here. The 3D embossing folder is called Soaring and is from Dina Wakley and Spellbinders. It is a 3D mix of inspirational words and soaring birds. I also received inspiration from a new die set from Spellbinders called Rainbow Slice Tunnel and the color guidance is from a kit by Club Scrap. 

There are two things I struggle with in my cardmaking sessions - finding the right colors of cardstock to use with or without patterned paper and leaving any white space. I just need texture on my white or colored cardstock and I am ok with that. Especially when I can easily emboss the backgrounds with gorgeous embossing folders like this one. And I am  getting help with the color choices with kits from Club Scrap. They release a new kit each month for cardmakers as well as scrappers and I received this kit at a cardmaker's gathering I recently attended. I show in the new video how to die cut the different layers of the Rainbow Slice Tunnel and emboss the off white cover to make this gorgeous card. The lighthouse and soaring bird are dies from IO. 

I love that when you cut out the tunnel pieces, you  can use the positive and negative images to create a rainbow tunnel and on these cards I did use rainbow colors too. Of course the backgrounds on both were embossed with the beautiful Soaring 3D embossing folder from Dina Wakley so I added some die cut birds in rainbow colors to both cards. 

Also part of the Dina Wakely release at Spellbinders is a Press Plate with dies called Feather Dream, and I made these two cards with hot foiled feathers, script and of course the beautiful Soaring embossing folder. Below are  two more cards I made in masculine colors with the feathers BetterPressed not foiled, and one I brayered color onto the embossed background and highlighted some of my favorite inspirational words:

As you can see I was super inspired by these products to make many cool cards and I hope my cards inspire you to give some of the ideas and products a try!

Halo Light Cards With Club Scrap and 49 & Market

I recently discovered Club Scrap, a company out of Wisconsin (too!) with monthly kits of gorgeous papers for card makers and scrappers and received my first box not long ago. In exploring their Facebook page, I found a challenge to make a card with this sketch: 

Sketches are a great place to start when designing cards, and I designed to take the challenge. I used all papers, a sentiment strip and some floral outline stickers from the Club Scrap April '25 kit on my card. But I added one fun item to make this card really special:

The velum flower is now lit up! I have used many One Lights and EZ Lights from Pear Blossom Press, but recently decided to try their Halo Lights for the first time. I had a set here and made this card and the next one with their circle of lights called Halo Lights.

I used products from the new 49 and Market Birdsong Essentials release on this card and once again a halo of lights from Pear Blossom Press. This card is pretty below, but IRL much prettier with the halo of lights. 

It is really hard to show the Halo Lights beauty with still pictures, so I filmed a mini- video to show you:

First Club Scrap Cards - Gorgeous Colors and New Fun Folds

Learning new fun folds and getting help with picking colors of cardstock and patterned papers just makes me so excited,  and I got both in the newest cardmaking kit from Club Scrap.

I just recently learned about Club Scrap at a gathering of card makers in Madison where we all received a card kit from them. I loved the colors of the cardstock and designer paper and decided to check out the website. I found out they are also located in Wisconsin and have been in business over 25 years!  They create monthly kits for scrapbookers as well as cardmakers. I bought the newest kit called Coming Up Roses and made the first card exactly as the video and pdf instructed. It is a Double Box card and the sentiment paper, flower and ribbon are provided in the kit too.

In the video for the new cardmaking kit, we were taught how to make that beautiful bow and how to make a brand new fun fold for me. The sentiment piece encouraged me to add a die cut bird and birdhouse and look what happens when the card is opened:

A new kind of explosion fold and a lol sentiment piece makes this a card any one would love to receive! I added a strip of gold flowers which were also part of the kit. I have made explosion cards before but never one that opened on a gatefold like this one. 

The instructional video taught us how to make this larger card with the squares of different colors and patterned paper. I added my own touch with a new favorite die from Ellen Hutson. The sentiment is perfect for how I want to live.
