Simon Says Stamp and Creative Moments Challenges

Anything Goes at Simon Says Stamp and Creative Moments this week so I am sharing a sympathy card for someone who lost a pet that I made with a beautiful set from Raisin Boat. I made the bench just from looking at a similar bench on Pinterest and then added the lovely stamps from this set.

This is what the inside looks like. I like how you can bend acrylic stamps into fun shapes if you want something different than just straight.

Repeat Impressions Stamp of the Week

The stamp of the week this week at Repeat Impressions is this cute Twig Snowman stamp, and it is available this week only for 50% off with the discount code found at Repeat Impressions blog. What a deal! Please visit the blog for all the details and to see the other Rock Star's cards using this stamp.

For my card, I decided to make a joy fold card and feature several special stamps by Repeat Impression perfect for a fellow stampers. The twig snowman was paper pieced with white and a little red dp on the front of the smaller kraft card. I love the “Letter to Santa” that would be perfect for me or lots of other stampers I know. I doodled a little to finish the front.

On the inside I stamped The Twelve Days of Christmas- for stampers! – too cute! I embossed and added some Santa dp to complete the joy fold card.

I am entering this card in the paper piecing challenge at A Gem of a Challenge.

Delicious Doodles and Emergency Crafters Challenges

The challenge this week at Delicious Doodles is "Something that Flies" and Anything Goes at  Emergency Crafters.  I created this CAS holiday card using a beautiful colored digi from Fred She Said and their piercing pattern. I have many of Fred She Said's piercing patterns and just love the look it gives a card. Round the edges and layer onto a white square card and you have a beautiful yet easy to make Christmas card. The sentiment is a new favorite of mine from Verve.

Crafty Creations and Delightful Challenges

The challenge this week at Crafty Creations is "Christmas is Coming" and at Delightful Challenges they want to see our red and green cards. I am sharing a card I made using an origami tree that I learned to make from my friend Phyllis. Here is a tutorial if you want to make one yourself. I had so much fun making them, you will see a bunch more cards with them here before Christmas. You use thin paper so any wrapping paper would do or in this case I used some lightweight two sided embossed green sparkly paper. After I put the tree together I added some red gems to decorate it. I attached it to a white background piece embossed with snowflakes (Cuttlebug) and I added the perfect sentiment from Verve.

Love's Rubberstamps and Through the Craftroom Door Challenges

Anything Goes at Through the Craftroom Door this week and at Love's Rubberstamps they want to see ribbon on our cards. I made this card earlier this fall with a digital stamp I thought was so cute and now I can't remember or find whose digital stamp the Naughty Santa Letter is. Sorry... But I printed it and cut it out with a circle nestie then layered it on some holiday dp. The tan piece was embossed with my favorite Cuttlebug Christmas embossing folder and adorned with some velvety ribbon and attached with pop dots to raise.

My cards today are holiday love cards. The first one is to wish someone special Thanksgiving Love From My Heart. I added the “from my Heart”, some pine cones and a sentiment cut out using an embossing folder.

My second card features Christmas Joy to the World and a sweet pup checking out his Christmas stocking. I paper pieced the pup and stocking and attached him with pop dots over an embossed background. The Joy to the World was cut out and embossed with a Nestabilities and hung on a green piece that was also pop dotted to raise.

DCC Challenge - Use Non-traditional Holiday Colors

It’s another Designer’s Choice Challenge at The House that Stamps Built, Repeat Impression’s blog. It’s my turn and I chose to challenge myself, my team mates and you to make a holiday card using non-traditional colors. I am a green and red Christmas gal, but sometimes we need to step outside our comfort zone and try something different. So pull out your non-traditional colors, make a card and you can enter it for a chance to win some awesome Repeat Impressions rubber! Please visit the blog for all the details and to see the other Rock Star's cards for this DCC challenge.

For my card I used the lovely Winter’s Eve stamp by Repeat Impressions that I stamped in purple as my focal point. I cut it out leaving a white border, layered on purple and raised with mounting tape above a background of white embossed snowflakes. More layering of purple and a perfect sentiment from Repeat Impressions complete the card.

I am entering this card in the challenge at Hooked on Craft for no reds or greens in our holiday card.

WTSHTF is now COLORink Digital Stamps!

The awesome digital stamps designed by Marion are now available at a new website called  COLORink Digital Stamps.  Recently Marion shared some of her new holiday sets with those of us lucky enough to be on her design team, so I got to play:) The beautiful reindeer and sentiment above is from her "The Miracle of Christmas" set. I created a CAS card featuring the reindeer flying above some glittery embossed trees (cannot give credit because there is no name on the embossing folder?) I printed and cut out the I Believe to complete the CAS card.

My second card features two sweet stocking girls and a sentiment all from the "Mary Christmas Girl" set at COLORink Digital Stamps. I decided to create a mantel scene with some dp, an embossing folder from Stampin' Up and some greens courtesy of Martha Stewart. I just love using colored digital stamps as I can create fun cards in half the time. I think my kids at Send a Smile 4 Kids will love these cards even if I didn't do the coloring.

I am entering these cards in the CAS challenge at Totally Gorguss and in the All About Christmas challenge at Paper Creator's Crafts.

Stamp Camp Cards

I recently hosted a stamp camp both here in Schofield WI (with a friend) and in Durand WI and today am sharing some of the cards that I designed for the participants to make. I do stamp camps twice a year now and am also teaching monthly classes in my home so send me an email or leave a comment if you are local and would like more info on them. The card above uses Raisin Boat and Printworks stamps and an embossing folder from Sizzix. This is what the inside looks like:

The second project shown is a gift card holder using grand dies (cut in the Grand Calibur), a die from Memory Box and a beautiful stamp from CTMH.

The next card was a Packer Christmas card again made with grands labels 4 cut in my Grand Calibur and fun Packer stamps from Peachy Keen Stamps.

The last card from my stamp camp I am sharing today features my favorite holiday embossing folder from Cuttlebug and a reindeer die from Tim Holtz.

Hope you enjoyed the cards I shared today.

Anything Goes 4 Kids at Send a Smile 4 Kids!

It’s time for another fun challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids and this time our theme is Anything Goes 4 Kids! We have three very generous sponsors this week:  Crafty Sentiments Design is giving their winner 3 digis of their choice! And Tiddly Inks is giving their randomly picked winner a $12 Gift Certificate! Lili of theValley’s winner will receive a 10 pound Gift Certificate!  TEAM S.A.S will also be choosing their favorite cards for our top three and the winners will receive a blog badge and an opportunity to be a guest design team member on a future challenge. Please visit the blog to see the other great cards by TEAM S.A.S. for this challenge.

My first card above features "Roboto" by Tiddly Inks. Isn't he sweet? I also used digital paper by Tiddly Inks that continues the balloon theme and after printing it, I embossed and sponged a birthday background. Roboto and his fun balloons were paper pieced, cut out and attached with mounting tape to raise. Perfect for a little boy for his birthday, and boy's cards are the ones we seem to get the least of at SAS4Kids.

My second card could also be for a boy and features "Charles Just Relax" by Crafty Sentiments. Again I created a fun background with embossing folders and paper pieced the image.

So come join our challenge by making and linking any card appropriate for a child for a chance at a great prize.

I am entering these cards in the Anything Goes challenges at Through the Craftroom Door and Tammy's Scrapin' Corner.

Thanksgiving or Giving Thanks is the theme at Digital Tuesday, Simon Says Stamp and Loves Rubberstamps challenges this week. I can't believe a week from today is Thanksgiving, but it is! I am ready with this CAS Thanksgiving card I made with a super cute colored digital stamp set called Fall Fancy by Jamie Kay for Dollar Graphics Depot. Have you visited Dollar Graphics Depot yet? Everything is only a dollar and you get whole sets of awesome digitals for that low low price!

I printed the pumpkins and sentiment on off white paper, cut out, rounded and sponged the edges and attached to the card with pop dots to raise. CAS but still a lovely TG card (going out in the mail for my brother who is not able to join our Thanksgiving celebration this year.)

Can you help?

Every once in a while you come across someone's story that just pulls at your heart more than others. This is one of those. This family lost their young son to a rare disease and their other son has also been diagnosed with the same disease. They are doing all they can to make people aware of this rare disease and have written some children's books to raise awareness and funds for research for  a cure.

For full details, please hop over to her blog and read the wonderful story of this family and their heart break, and see if you can help in some way. Please go and check out Scrampin Mama here.

I just ordered two of the books for my grandson. Maybe you could consider doing the same or donating one or two of the books for kids in hospitals or your favorite charity.

Thanks for reading, spreading the word and helping any way you can. Here is the blogpost to share.

They have two great sponsors: Robyn's Fetish and Scrapper's Delight so check out their blog for all the details on what you can win and to see the great cards by their design team.

I punched some mittens with my new punch from Stampin' Up to continue the theme and hung them with tiny clothespins on a string of bakers twine. This card will be perfect for one of my kids at Send a Smile 4 Kids for a winter cheer up:)

Simon Says Stamp and Crafty Creations Challenges

Sympathy or Thinking of You is the theme this week at Simon Says Stamp and at Crafty Creations we are to use no flowers. I made this sympathy card a while ago as part of a gift package of cards and so am trying to remember how I made it. I know the "weeds" are a Donna Salazar stamp and I stamped them and the sentiment (Stampin' up) in grey. The butterfly was made with two layers of velum and grey cardstock using a embossing diecut also from Stampin' up. There is a frame of embossing around the edge of the white card and I rounded all the edges.

Christmas Silhouette Cards from Crackerbox Palace!

It's Crackerbox Palace Thursday and today I am sharing some Christmas silhouettes cards I made with stamps that are available from Crackerbox Palace. You can win your choice of the stamps featured on one of these cards by leaving a comment at either blog. The simple requirements for a chance at winning are below and now you have even more choices of what you can win!
But first- the winner of last Thursday’s blog candy is                                                     Cazzy!  Here is her winning comment from the CBP blog: “I love your card, I think this is the one bug I don't have, I must get mine out and use them!  Cazzy x”
Cazzy, please send me or Crackerbox Palace your address and your choice of which stamps you want (see your options below), so we can get you the stamps you have won.
My cards today are Christmas cards made with silhouette stamps from Crackerbox Palace. I love silhouette stamps because they look great without a lot of coloring. I embossed the fun carolers group with red sparkly embossing powder in a circle created using an embossing diffuser from Tim Holtz. The musical notes background was made with an embossing folder from Darice and then sponged with brown distress ink.

The inside also shows the embossed notes and the unembossed circle in the center and I added a fun sentiment from CBP and a tree made with origami folds out of holiday wrapping paper like in this tutorial.

My second card features Santa’s sleigh and reindeer in silhouette that I also embossed, this time with black embossing powder across a yellow moon. The beautiful Crackerbox Palace sentiment was raised with pop dots over a background of Christmas wishes dp.
So would you like to win the stamps featured on one of today’s cards or your choice of another CBP stamp? Here is how to win our  weekly blog candy:

Vicky or Karen will post a card or two every Thursday on both blogs. All you need to do is to leave a comment on either blog and if you leave a comment on both blogs you will have a double chance to win. We hope you also want to 'follow' the blogs. DCC Challenge at Repeat Impressions- Give Thanks!

It’s another Designer’s Choice Challenge at The House that Stamps Built, Repeat Impression’s blog. It’s Geri’s turn and she is challenging us to make a card that expresses giving thanks. It can be a Happy Thanksgiving card or a thank you card- anything that shows gratitude. You can then enter it for a chance to win some awesome Repeat Impressions rubber! Please visit the blog for all the details and to see the other Rock Star's cards for this DCC challenge.

For my card I used a lovely Repeat Impression’s sentiment to express thanks (and Happy Holidays) to a dear friend. I love the Peaceful Observation stamp and can picture my kitty looking out a window at the snow just like this one. In fact today she is doing just that! I paper pieced the kitty and her bow and did a little coloring of the window and snow. I cut a frame out of kraft paper and tucked a ribbon in between the two layers. The snowy embossed layer was created with an embossing folder from Sizzix.

I am entering this card in the embossing challenge at Card Mania and the challenge at Sentimental Sundays for dimension with a sentiment.

GDT at Tuesday Alchemy!

I was honored to be asked to be a Guest Designer at Tuesday Alchemy for a couple Tuesdays this month. This week's challenge is Anything But a Card and that is a real challenge for me. But trying something "outside my box" is a good thing and I found this cute little purse here (with instructions) and had fun making this birthday treat for a special little girl.

There are three sponsors of this challenge so you can win a prize from Stitchy Bear, LEJ Designs or Broken Box Designs. I chose a sweet freebie from Broken Box Designs called "Chelsea and Mario's Big Treat" to make this birthday purse. I printed the digital stamp and paper pieced the frosting and dress and colored the rest, then cut out with a scalloped Nestabilities die. The purse was made with pink dotted dp and black card stock according to the instructions on the linked tutorial above.

I am entering this purse in the Birthday Challenge at Stampin' with the Dragon.

Guest DT at Tammy's Scrapin' Corner!

Today I get to be the Guest Design Team Member at Tammy's Scrapin' Corner and I just love the image I received to design with from their sponsor A Day For Daisies! It is called Pumpkins and Butterflies and it is so sweet! I paper pieced her outfit, pumpkin and butterflies.  I had seen a frame made with butterflies on Pinterest so I decided to try one with fall colored butterflies and to be honest, am thrilled with how it turned out! The butterfly punch is from Martha Stewart and I added liquid pearls to each butterfly in the circular frame.

I am entering this card in the Fall or Halloween Colors challenge at  A Day for Daisies.

Happy Holidays 4 Kids at SAS4Kids!

It’s time for another fun challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids and this time our theme is Happy Holidays 4 Kids! Yes it is time to start making and sending in your cards for our kids so that every child in our 8 children’s hospitals over the holidays gets a card. And if we have enough, maybe they could also send out or give a card to a loved one they are missing or a teacher or a healthcare worker they want to thank. We can put a lot of smiles on a lot of faces with the cards you send in! You are not required to send in your cards to enter our challenge, but our kids sure hope you do!

We have three very generous sponsors this week: Doodle Pantry is giving their winner 3 digis of their choice! And Scrapping Memories is giving their randomly picked winner 10 digis or cutting files! Sassy Cheryl’s winner will receive a $5 gift certificate!  TEAM S.A.S will also be choosing their favorite cards for our top three and the winners will receive a blog badge and an opportunity to be a guest design team member on a future challenge.

My first card above features some sweet digis from Doodle Pantry from their "Joyful Noise" set. I printed the pre-colored carolers and cut them out with a circular Nestabilities die. I continued the musical theme with red note dp and some punched out musical notes.

My second card features a fun digital stamp from Sassy Cheryl's called Santa's Rushed Letter. I paper pieced most of the little boy rushing off to mail his letter to Santa on time. I layered some squares of dp and cardstock diagonally and straight to frame the cute picture in the middle.

Scrapping Memories is our third sponsor and I decided to try a circle sidestep card made out of kraft dp and printed the sweet Christmas Wreath Calvin for the focal point on this card for one of my kids. Here is a tutorial on how to make one of these circle sidestep cards. The sentiment is by Crackerbox Palace.

So would you like to win the stamps featured on today’s cards or get a $10.00 gift certificate? Here is how to win our blog candy:
1.) We have decided that becoming a follower on both blogs is going to be something we would prefer you do but not a requirement. My blog is here and the Crackerbox Palace blog is here.
2.) Leave a comment on either my blog or the Crackerbox Palace blog on the Thursday blogpost featuring CBP stamps. If you leave a comment on BOTH blogs, you will be entered twice in the drawing. The deadline to leave a comment will be the Wednesday the week after I post at Noon CST. Mr. Random will pick a winner from the comments and he or she will win the featured stamp(s). You must send me (khasheck@gmail.com) or Crackerbox Palace (crackerbox@crackerboxstamps.com) an email with your home address so the stamps can be mailed to you. If we do not hear from you within two weeks after we announce your win, and we can’t reach you through a blog, your prize will be forfeited. And if you post a card to your blog or to Splitcoast Stampers with the stamps you won and send a link to Crackerbox Palace, you will win another Crackerbox Palace stamp of your choice!!

Crackerbox Palace smiles, Karen
