Happy Holidays 4 Kids at SAS4Kids!

It’s Saturday and time for another fun challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids! This time our challenge is Happy Holidays 4 Kids. Create and link any Christmas or December Holiday card for a child and you could win one of our great prizes.

We start early at SAS4Kids because we would like all our kids in the eight children’s hospitals we serve to receive a holiday card and it would be even better if they could choose a few more for friends or family they are missing while they spend the holidays in the hospital. You do not have to send in your card to participate in our challenges, but our kids sure hope you do. We need to receive the cards by early December to have enough time to sort and mail to the children’s hospitals.

We have three very generous sponsors for this challenge: Scrapping Memories is giving their winner 10 free files of the winner’s choice! Bugaboo is giving their randomly picked winner 7 digis of their choice!  And QKR Stampede’s winner gets 5 digis! TEAM S.A.S will also be choosing their favorite cards for our top three and the winners will receive a blog badge and an opportunity to be a guest design team member on a future challenge.

My  first card above features a super sweet Lil' Snowman from Bugaboo that I printed and cut out with a Nestabilities circle die. I paper pieced his scarf, earmuffs and star, added some glitter for snow and sponged around the edge. I created a present background and embossed the whole card with a swirly snowflake embossing folder by Spellbinders.

My second card for my kids showcases a fun colored digital stamp from Scrapping Memories called Christmas Wreath Calvin. I printed him and cut him out and attached to a red square card embossed with the same Spellbinders embossing folder. I cut out the sentiment with my Silhouette Portrait and a Silhouette America cutting file.

I am entering these cards in the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp and the challenge at Inky Impressions for traditional Christmas cards.

Anything Goes 4 Kids at Send a Smile 4 Kids!

It’s Saturday and time for another fun challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids! This time our challenge is everyone’s favorite: Anything Goes 4 Kids. Create and link any card for a child and you could win one of our great prizes.

We have four very generous sponsors this week: Scrapping Memories is giving their winner 10 free digis or cutting files of their choice! Stamping Dragon Designs is giving their randomly picked winner 4 digis of their choice! Robyn’s Fetish’s winner will receive 2 free digis!  And Tabitha’s Shop will award their winner 2 Digi Paper Packs of their choice! TEAM S.A.S will also be choosing their favorite cards for our top three and the winners will receive a blog badge and an opportunity to be a guest design team member on a future challenge.

My first card above features the sweet Pool Fun digital stamp from Stamping Dragon Designs. I paper pieced the swimming dragon and pool and colored the rest. I used stickers to add the sentiment and created a background with my new favorite dp from Stampin' Up.

My second card features a colored digi from Scrapping Memories called Sunbonnet Susanna. I admit I love colored digis- they look so much nicer than any coloring I could do and make for much easier card making. I cut her out with a shaped oval die from Spellbinders and added some gems and pearls. I created a background with kraft and embossed pink paper with rounded corners. I added a strip of washi tape and a fun sentiment stamp that looks like ribbon from Impression Obsession.

Scrapping Memories Holiday Card

It’s another Scrapping Memories Tuesday here and I am happy to share another fun card featuring digital stamps from Scrapping Memories. But first I am announcing the winner of the blog candy drawing from the comments made on my last Scrapping Memories blog post.

The winner of 5 digital files (cutting or digital stamps) is                  Deonna! And her winning comment was: “Would love to win the Great Scrapping Memories prize. Thank you so much for the chance and Happy Thanksgiving!

Deonna - please contact me at khasheck at gmail dot com and I will put you in touch with Scrapping Memories to claim your prize!

My card today features a sweet digital stamp called Christmas Wreath Calvin. Isn’t he cute? I started with a red card and a kraft piece that I embossed with a holly branch embossing folder from Tim Holtz. The “joy” stamp is from Printworks and is my favorite. I added a snowflake (Martha Stewart) and pearl, then popped up Calvin in his wreath.

I am entering this card in the Christmas for Boys challenge at One Stop Crafts.

I have decided to stop the blog candy contest every other week for Scrapping Memories. But I will continue to share cards made with their awesome and oh so reasonable digital stamps and my kids at SAS4Kids will continue to receive those  cards. Thanks to Scrapping Memories for all the great stamps and fun blog candy prizes given.

If you follow my blog, you know about my love for kids. Making any child happy touches my heart and that is why I became involved with Send a Smile 4 Kids and stepped up to become the blog’s owner and team leader when it was in danger of closing down. Recently I discovered a website called Scrapping Memories where there are so many cute digis and cutting files that are darling for making cards for kids. They were so kind in sharing their digital files with me to help make my kids smile, so I have joined up with them to share cards and scrapbook pages here on my blog every other Tuesday.  And each time I show you a project featuring some of their fun digital files, we are going to be offering you a chance to win some blog candy! Just leave a comment below sometime between now and Monday, August 20, 2012 at 9:00 am CST and you will be entered for a chance to win 5 digital stamps or cutting files from Scrapping Memories!!  If your comment is the winning one picked by Mr. Random AND if you have the Scrapping Memories blog badge on your blog, you will win TWO MORE free digital stamps or cutting files!!  (It is not required to win the blog candy that you have the blog badge on your blog, but you can win more if you do.)

Enough chatter- you came for the pictures, right? I created a Back to School card to share today and started with this darling colored digi of Matthew all ready for school. I had some colored lined notebook paper that I cut with a Nestabilities die and added a perfect sentiment (digi from Rainbow’s Echo.)

I am also sharing some scrapbook pages I made of my grandson attending a Harry Potter birthday party. I found some perfect HP  designer paper and printed and cut out the Harry Potter digital stamp from Scrapping Memories to accent these awesome pix from the party. Here is the second page of the layout and a super cute pix of the Harry Potter participants.

Hope you enjoyed my CAS projects featuring Scrapping Memories digitals. Leave a comment below for a chance to win some for yourself. Here’s another great reason to check out their website:  Scrapping Memories is having a Summer Sale right now- 60% OFF everything in the store!! Help Carrie Fight Cancer

I have found a new website and a new cause to tell you about. Scrapping Memories is hosting a raffle ticket sale to raise money to help a young single mother who is fighting cancer. Here is some information about Carrie and the raffle. (You can click on the link or on the blog badge on the side of my blog to purchase some tickets or check out this amazing website.)

Carrie has been diagnosed with lung cancer at the age of 34. She is a single mom of 2 wonderful boys. She is currently going through chemo. 100% of the money raised from this raffle will be donated to her to help with medical costs and family needs. Please find it in your heart to purchase our raffle tickets, which will give you all of the files we add to our site for an entire year and say a prayer for her too! Even if you do not scrapbook... it goes to a loving and wonderful woman!!!

I don't know a thing about SVG files or cutting machines, but I discovered an amazing selection of digital stamps at Scrapping Memories ALL 60% OFF! right now during their summer sale! What a deal! Of course I had to pick a Harry Potter image for my grandson and all my kids at SAS4Kids

For my card I simply printed the colored version of Harry and cut out. I cut the front of the card diagonally to show the wood grain dp on the inside of the card. I punched a star circle (Tonic) to complete this CAS card.

I am entering this card in the Anything Goes challenges at Jackson Digital Expressions and  Simon Says Stamp.
