More Split Stencil Cards With New Stencils from A Colorful Life Designs

I love how easy it is to create gorgeous cards with the new Split Image Stencils from A Colorful Life Designs and I made seven different cards easily for my newest video here. The stencil I used on this card and the next is called Split Swirls. I simply brushed on aqua blue ink through the stencil onto a lightly colored piece of designer paper, then stamped a sentiment and added a punched embossed butterfly.

**EDITED TO ADD: The owner of A Colorful Life Designs liked my cards and video so much she offered me a discount code to share with my viewers! Click on the link in the paragragh above, pick out the split stencils you want (and look around- so many neat stencils!) and then use my discount code KarenSplit to get 10% off! The code is case sensitive and expires 5/9/21 so be sure to go shopping soon!**

I added my favorite Rainglow foil from Brutus Monroe and Therm O Web through the Split Swirls stencil after applying Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo and letting it dry. I also used a favorite technique (the eclipse technique) and favorite dies from Dies...To Die For to make this card. The stitched frame die is from Cutplorations.

This and the next card both feature the new Split Bubbly Flourish stencil. I simply brushed on pink, yellow and purple distress ink, stamped a sentiment from Stampendous and added a couple gems from Gina Marie Designs.

I sprayed a couple colors of Shimmer Bliss color spray from Technique Junkies through the Split Bubbly Flourish stencil on this card, then also sprayed with Therm O Web's Glitter Dust. The glitter dust is very hard to clean off of stencils so if you want clean stencils, you won't want to do that. It didn't ruin the stencil and I like the added sparkle (which is hard to see in the photo.) The layered hello is a die from Tonic Studios and I layered it on vellum, and then added more of my favorite gems from Gina Marie Designs.

See what I mean about how easy it is to make awesome cards with these new split image stencils? I show all these cards and more in the new video here.

Video - Cardmaking With Split Image Stencils From A Colorful Life Designs

I had so much fun designing cards with the new Split Image stencils from A Colorful Life Designs for my newest video, I didn't stop until I had made 7 different cards with different stenciling techniques. My favorite of the new split stencils is the rose and here is a CAS but lovely card to show you why:

I show in the new video how easy it is to make this card with the gorgeous Split Rose stencil and a brand new sympathy stamp set from Technique Junkies. Here is another CAS card with this awesome Split Rose stencil:

All I did to make this card was apply Red Velvet Glitz Glitter Gel from Gina K Designs and Therm O Web through the rose stencil and when it was dry, I added a sentiment die from Cutplorations and a few gems from Gina Marie Designs.

**EDITED TO ADD: The owner of A Colorful Life Designs liked my cards and video so much she offered me a discount code to share with my viewers! Click on the link in the first paragragh above, pick out the split stencils you want (and look around- so many neat stencils!) and then use my discount code KarenSplit to get 10% off! The code is case sensitive and expires 5/9/21 so be sure to go shopping soon!**

I also show in the new video how to make this love slimline card with Brutus Monroe Sunrise Foil and Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo through the Split Rose stencil twice. The 'love" die is from Poppystamps, the Torn Heart is from Dies...To Die For and the stitched slimline die is from Pinkfresh Studios. Here is a look at the inside of this card:

I share the foil technique in the video of how to not waste any of the gorgeous foil after the first pass through a laminator or MINC by running it through again with a piece of Deco Foil Toner Sheet and that is how this rose image was created.

To see all the Split Image stencil cards and how I made these, watch the new video here.

CUTplorations Creative Cuts Guest Designer Shaker Cards and VIdeo

Happy Fri-Die everyone! I am honored to the CUTplorations Creative Cuts Guest Designer this spring and I had so much fun creating shaker cards with their awesome dies and other products, I made three cards and a new video! Here is a peak at the card I make in the new video:

To see all the fun shaker birthday cards, you can watch the new video here and/or visit the Stamplorations blog here for the Friday Creative Cuts feature. I suggest you do both because shaker cards are the most fun if you can see the beads and sequins move around, and the blog post has all the links to check out the dies, stencils, stickers and stamp sets I used in the three cards. Plus I share many tips to make shaker cards easily with different colored seed beads (my favorite for great movement) in each opening.

And don't forget to use my discount code STAMPGIRLKARENH to save 20% on any order at the Stamplorations website!

RubberStampMadness Summer 2021 Article Cards

I am honored to share that 4 of my cards are featured in a three page article in the newest issue of RubberStampMadness! Most of the cards feature stamping with stencils and this is one of the cards. I applied yellow and orange ink through a Mini Galaxy stencil from The Crafter's Workshop and then over stamped the gorgeous "Part of the Dance" stamp from Technique Junkies in black ink. As I so often do I completed the card with some of my favorite gems from Gina Marie Designs.

I love how this card turned out with the combination of a stamped text background created with the Romantic Script Background stamp from My Favorite Things and the layered floral Sweet Spring stencil from Altenew! I added a sentiment strip stamp from Taylored Expressions and more gems from Gina Marie Designs.

I told the author of the article about my cards that this card was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest years ago, but do not have a link to credit the original cardmaker. The beautiful bride stamp set which includes the sentiment stamp is called Haute Wedding Dress from The Ton and the stencil is from Carabelle Studio. After I did the stamping and stenciling, I created a reverse stencil and added Irisdescent Glitz Glitter Gel from Gina K Designs and Therm O Web.

One of my cards chosen for the article included no stamping or stencils but is a favorite of mine featuring gorgeous dies from Sue Wilson and Creative Expressions in a slimline format. And of course because I almost always do, I added some gorgeous gems from Gina Marie Designs.

I want to thank RubberStampMadness for again featuring my cards and Christina Hecht for her amazing writing of the article after interviewing me.

Video - How To Color DieCuts With Foil and Embossing Powder Part One

I am die cut crazy and love to play with techniques to give my diecuts color and shine, and in my newest video here I feature foil and embossing powder techniques. All the dies in this video and in Part Two coming soon are from Dies...to Die For at ShopScrapbook101.com, and I am posting this video on their YouTube channel too while Stacey takes some time off to deal with health issues.
My great-nephew (does that make me really old or just really great to be his great-aunt??) is graduating from my old alma mater and the BHS school colors are maroon and gold. I "colored" the graduation gown and hat with Gold Static foil on a Brutus Monroe/Therm O Web Designer Toner Sheet and brushed on maroon (or burgandy) ink as I show in the video. All the graduation dies can be found here on the DTDF website. I rolled up a monetary gift to look like a diploma and tucked it in a pocket created with the Torn Edge Resting Rectangle die from Dies...To Die For.

As I show in the new video, I colored all these diecuts in this baby slimline card with foil and Gina K Designs Petite Foil-mates, and also explain how to not waste any gorgeous foil but putting the leftovers through the MINC or laminator with Deco Foil's black Toner Sheets. All the baby dies shown can be found here on the DTDF website.

I have also discovered another way to color our diecuts with embossing powder and I call the technique Hot Camo. In the new video I show how I added red, black and white embossing powders to the graduation gown and hat and achieved a textured fun color mixture. Here is a close up look at that texture:

Combining the words "Congrats" and "Grad" was an idea I totally lifted from Stacey of Dies...To Die For and is a fun play on words perfect for a graduation card.

I had so much fun playing with these foil and embossing techniques that I made many more cards with the coming May release at Dies...To Die For, so be sure to on the lookout for those cards and the Part Two video soon. I hope my cards and new video inspire you to give some of these techniques and dies a try!

CAS Altenew Antique Rose Card

I just couldn't resist this gorgeous Antique Rose die set from Altenew and I had so much fun with it I made a bunch of cards for an upcoming video. I also took a free layering class from Altenew with this and other layering die sets and got many great ideas which I will also be sharing soon. "Thinking of You" cards are the ones I use the most so I combined the beautiful layered rose with a favorite sentiment die from Sue Wilson for a simple but lovely card. The top layer of the rose and leaves all have a hint of sparkle from the glitter cardstock I chose.

I am entering this card in the CAS challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday.

More Pop Up Double Bitty Ball Animal Cards From My Newest Video

I received a request from a special friend to create a pop up frog card for his wife's birthday and had so much fun creating this card, of course I shared it in a new video with other bitty ball animal cards. I can share that it is very hard to grow a YouTube channel and get many views and minutes watched on each video, but my highest viewed videos are these also featuring pop up animals made with the ingenious dies from Karen Burniston. So I know others love these double bitty ball animal pop ups as much as I do!

Of course the best part of these cards is when the recipient opens the card and a critter pops up! I belong to a Facebook group called Karen Burniston Pop Up Peeps and saw a frog card there I was able to get inspiration from and my friend loved how this card turned out. I hope his wife does too when she opens it on her birthday!

I also learned how to make this type of card and the monkey from Karen Burniston on her Facebook group and YouTube channel. I made this card for a little boy who will delight in the silly joke and how the monkey pops up when he opens the card.

I hope you are inspired by my cards and new video to give these double bitty ball pop up animals a try!

I am entering the first card in the Birthday challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday.

Video - Cookie Monster, Frog and Monkey Pop Up Double Bitty Ball Cards

One of my favorite all time dies is the Bitty Ball Pop Up Die from Karen Burniston when it is used doubled up to make animals and critters of all kinds. In my newest video here, I show new frog and monkey Bitty Ball cards and how to make a Cookie Monster card from scratch. Here is the card I make in the video:

I have shown this card on my blog before but now you can learn step by step how to make it in the new video.  Of course the best part is when you open the card and see who pops up:

Isn't he adorable? The stenciled sentiment was made with the Taylored Expressions Falling Happy stencil and an older birthday die from Penny Black. Of course the best way to see Cookie Monster pop up when the card is opened is to watch the new video here.

Shakers and Slimline Cards with New Dies From Dies...to Die For

I love to make shaker cards and slimline cards and I combined those loves on the two cards I am sharing today from my newest Die Cut Crazy video. I created the background with a new stencil from Pinkfresh Studio called Mirrored Triangles and I used the new Tulips, Flower Pot and "celebrate" die from the new release at Dies...To Die For at Shopscrapbook101.com. I also used the Slimline Torn Rectangles die. Here is a look at this card "all shook up":

Here is another celebration Hello Peeps card from the new video and another view of it all shook up:

I used the Bunny Peeps die set and added the word Peeps in the same color using Hannah's Alphabet raised on fun foam. The shaker frame was created with Dies...To Die For Slimline Plaid 2 die and the layered Hello is from Spring Words with Shadows.

I love all the new dies in the newest release and hope these cards and my new video inspire you to give them a try!

I am entering the second card in the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday.

Video - Cardmaking for Celebrations With New Dies...To Die For April Dies

It is Spring and and I am celebrating the hopefulness of this spring with a new celebrations video featuring the brand new April release of dies at Dies...to Die For at Shopscrapbook101.com! Here is the screen fold card I show how to make in the video:

There are four folds on this card and each features new dies from the April release and one of the folds is a see through acetate where the sentiment and candles look like they are floating. Here are a few more views of this fun fold card:

The new dies I used to make this card are: Slimline Bow Border, Celebrate, Make A Wish, Streamers and Crepe Paper Border. I also used the Slimline Torn Rectangles and a fun stencil from Artplorations called Fan Fair. I also show how to make a slimline envelope with a little extra room for a thicker card like this one with the new Slimline Envelope die.

Here is another celebration card I share in the new video and it features the Teapot Cardmaker die and the new "celebrate" die. I created the front of the teapot with a new technique I am sharing in a video soon and a sentiment die from Cutplorations.

I had great fun making these and the other cards in the new video and hope the cards and ideas inspire you to give them a try!

Cards For Moms (From the Kids) at Send a Smile 4 Kids

It’s the first Saturday of a new month and time for another fun challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids! Again this year, all challenges at SAS4Kids are Anything Goes 4 Kids! We will also have an alternative theme that you can choose to follow, but are not required to. The theme for this challenge is: Cards For Moms (From the Kids.)

I made my card both an easel card and an eclipse card and the O in MOM is a mirror for her to see her beautiful face. I started with Gina K Designs Red Velvet Glitz Glitter Gel through an Artplorations stencil and when the gel was dry I die cut out two M's with Kat Scrappiness alphabet dies. I raised them on black fun foam and popped them back in for the eclipse look. The fun shoes on the bottom of the card were cut with dies from Dies...to Die For and the sentiment die is from Spellbinders. Both the stitched and dotted oval and strip dies are from Gina Marie Designs.

Here is a look at the inside of this easel card:

On the inside of the card I added some more sparkly shoes and a layered perfect sentiment from Honey Bee Stamps.

Be sure to check out the rest of the cards from TEAM SAS here and we would love it if you entered our challenge.

I am entering this card in the Anything Goes Challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday.
