Video - Cardmaking - Stamping With Stencils and (Almost) No Dies

My newest video is full of cards I made with a technique I just don't do all that much anymore - stamping! I admit I am die cut crazy but felt the need to get back to my roots - cardmaking with stamps.

This is the card I show how to make in the video. Isn't that Old World Door gorgeous! It is made with a layered stamp set from Kitchen Sink Stamps - no shading or coloring, just stamps! I started with a beautiful paper from Divinity Stamps and stamped the tree and sentiment from Penny Black. As I show in the video, the door is a series of browns and black ink to create that dimensional realistic door. The front of the card was cut down to about half way and stenciled with a brick wall stencil from Honey Bee Stamps.

This card combines my current favorite card layout (slimline) with creating a background with stamps and paper piecing. I do not color but I am fine with fussy cutting and paper piecing and I love the look of the patterned paper on the stars and Julie Nutting's Toby. The background is a combination of Taylored Expressions and Lil' Inker sentiments.

This card was created with two Pinkfresh Studios background stamps.

Do you mostly stamp on your cards or use die cuts, stencils and other products on your cards nowadays? To see all the new stamped cards and how I made the first one, please watch the new video here.

More Love Cards from the Kitchen Sink Stamps Video Hop

Doesn't that lamb look totally real? And I created him not with any shading or coloring, but with multi-step layered stamps from Kitchen Sink Stamps in different shades of grey and black ink for my newest video. The set from Kitchen Sink Stamps I used is called Multi-Step Little Lambs. The round frame is a die from Sue Wilson.

I am participating in a video hop this week and each of us are sharing projects and tips on how to use these brilliant stamps. In the description box of my video is a link to the next stop on the hop and also to a Rafflecopter where you can enter to possibly win a gift certificate to Kitchen Sink Stamps!

I also made this love card for the video with the Multi-Step Coffee and Friends set from Kitchen Sink Stamps and a background heart die from Altenew. It is so easy to stamp realistic images with these brilliant layering stamps!

The front heart shape opens to reveal the heart shaped area where I can write my love note. I used a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs for the background and a stitched heart die from Kat Scrappiness.

Video - Stretch Your Supplies Series - 5 Unique Cards With One Die

Cover size dies can be expensive and so in my newest video I show how to stretch your crafty dollars by creating 5 very unique cards with the same cover die. I could not resist this Deer Frame Die from Impression Obsession - it is perfect for guys cards and Christmas cards and cards for any reason or season!

I remember seeing a scene inside of a deer frame years ago and always wanted to find a die that would work for that idea. I show how to make this card in the video - the key is to save all the pieces when the Deer Frame was cut for this card:

On the first card I stamped some scenery images from Northwoods and Kitchen Sink Stamps and brushed on the sunset colors. On the second card the background was created with something we all have- boxes from all those crafty purchases with the top cardboard layer torn off. I also brushed on some Distress Ink for a little color.

For more details on these cards and to see 3 more cards with the same Impression Obsession Deer Frame die cut, watch the video here. Thanks for your visit here today and for watching, subscribing and sharing my videos too!

Ktichen Sink Stamps Ice Skates Times Three in the Holidays 2019 Rubber Stamp Madness Issue

A few years ago when there were many card making magazines being published in the United States I never blogged about my published cards because there were dozens and dozens each year as well as full length articles in many issues. Now, however, we are down to maybe two stamping/card making magazines in the U.S. and the competition to be published in them is fierce. So now when a card of mine is chosen, I am thrilled and want to share it with you and encourage you to find the issue. The Rubber Stamp Madness Holidays 2019 issue is available on their website here and also in bookstores. My friend Pat Schulz also has two of her cards published in this issue and I encourage you to check out her blog here.

The theme for the article my card is in is "Repeat Yourself", and we were supposed to use a stamp three times on the card. I chose to use the Kitchen Sink Stamps Figure Skates Multi Step Layered Stamps in three different colors hanging up ready to be grabbed for a fun afternoon of skating. I did that as a child, but as noted in the Rubber Stamp Madness article, nowadays my favorite cold weather activity is playing with my stamps, dies and cardstock.

Craft Collabs My Favorite Fall Colors Video Hop

I am so happy to be participating today in the Craft Collabs My Favorite Fall Colors Video Hop and I am sharing a couple projects for my Thanksgiving table in reds, oranges and yellows which are the prettiest colors in our Wisconsin autumn trees. To see many fall colored projects and for chances to win prizes, you can start here at my video and hop along. You have until September 30, 2019 to leave a comment for a chance to win.

I show two Thanksgiving table projects in my video and this is a ferris wheel card that could be used for a table decoration. The gorgeous tree in the center and the stamped leaves in my favorite fall colors were all made with Kitchen Sink Stamps Multi-Step stamp sets. (To find out how to make a ferris wheel card, just stop back next Monday for a new video and a link to the original tutorial.)

The acetate circle spins like a ferris wheel and is easy and fun to make. The stitched leaves dies are from Impression Obsession and the sentiment from Karen Burniston.

Just look at the gorgeous fall colored trees and leaves on this place card for our Thanksgiving table. In the video I show how easy it is to line up these Kitchen Sink Stamps for this gorgeous and realistic fall tree and leaf. The name was stamped with Concord & 9th's Sophisicated Alphabet stamps. Here is another view:

Trees for All Seasons with Kitchen Sink Stamps Multi-step Layering Stamps

My favorite of all the Kitchen Sink Stamps trees sets I own is the Multi-step Trees Set and I show in two videos this week how it can be used for gorgeous trees for all seasons. I made this diamond shaped easel card for a spring birthday with several shades of pink for a lovely flowering tree. I learned how to make this type of easel card in a tutorial here by Dawn Griffith. Here are a few more pictures of this unique fun fold birthday card:

The "Hello My Crafty Friend" is a new die from Kat Scrappiness and Happy Birthday is from Karen Burniston.

The Kitchen Sink Stamps Multi-Step Trees image is also gorgeous in shades of green as this card shows. The card base and the layers of the tree and sky image were cut with my Bright Rosa Hexagon Die Set.

I raised each layer a little higher as you can see in this picture. For more information on how easy it is to use Kitchen Sink Stamps Multi Step stamps, be sure to watch the video here. And to see this tree stamp set in gorgeous fall colors, be sure to stop back on Thursday for another video and more cards as part of the Craft Collabs My Favorite Fall Colors Video Hop! You could even win a complete set of Kitchen Sink Stamps Multi-Step Layered Stamps if you are the lucky commenter on my video!

Video - Kitchen Sink Stamps Multi-Step Layered Trees For All Seasons

I love the beauty of trees in every season and Multi-Step Layered Stamps from Kitchen Sink Stamps make sharing their beauty so easy even for coloring challenged card makers like me! In my newest video I am sharing cards for all 4 seasons made with Kitchen Sink Stamps.

This is the card I make in the video and it features KSS Multi-Step Snow Pine Trees stamp set and Nuvo Fresh Snowfall Glitter Accents. It is an Inside Shadow Box card I learned how to make from the brilliant Jennifer McGuire here.

In the video, I show how easy it is to stamp those realistic looking snowy pine trees and also the rolling hills snow both with stamps from Kitchen Sink Stamps. The Santa and Sleigh die is from Impression Obsession, the sentiment from Sue Wilson and Creative Expressions and the stitched oval from Lil' Inker.

My fall tree card features the spooky tree multi-step stamp from Kitchen Sink Stamps' Owl and Autumn Moon stamp set and I made a tri-fold Halloween card. The moon was stamped with two shades of grey ink and the leaves with orange and red. The sentiment dies are from Tonic Studios. Here are a couple more views of this tri-fold card:

I am featuring projects made with Kitchen Sink Stamps Multi-Step layering stamps all week on my blog here and also on my YouTube channel. Rediscovering My Love for Kitchen Sink Stamps Multi-Step Layered Stamps

I have been a fan of Kitchen Sink Stamps Multi-step Layered Stamps for years and recently a class I took with Maria Colosimo, the owner of Kitchen Sink Stamps reminded me how much I love these stamps. And then Jennifer McGuire released a video showing a brilliant new and easy way to line up the layers, and now I am going to be making even more cards with them! I made the card above using a MISTI to line up the stamps and am very happy with the results. But I showed a friend how to do it Jennifer's way and even though my friend is a rookie, her lighthouse was lined up better than mine when she made this card. I used the new Sea Cliff Lighthouse Multi-Step layering stamps on this card along with the new Isle of Big Bay Lake water layering stamps. The sentiment strips on both cards are from Taylored Expressions.

See how realistic that mallard duck is? I can't color worth a darn but I  can stamp the different layers to make realistic ducks and cat tails with the new stamp sets from Kitchen Sink Stamps. If you would like any of these awesome stamp sets or the ones Jennifer showed in her video, click on this link and check them out. I know there has been a run on all the KSS stamps since Jennifer's video, but any out of stock currently will be re-stocked soon. so add them to your wish list or order them to reserve your very own. If you would like to know what color recipes Maria recommends you can ask for them via email and if you have a cutting machine, you can also get free cutting files and make a stamping jig that makes these stamps even easier to line up.

More Sizzix and Spellbinders 3D Shadow Box Cards

I love 3D stand up cards and in my newest video, I show how to make shadow box cards with new dies from Sizzix and Spellbinders. I made this 3D water scene with the Spellbinders Grand Dome 3D card die set. Can you see the totally realistic water in the background of this card? I stamped that with a new Multi-Step stamp set from Kitchen Sink Stamps called Ocean Waters. The sentiment dies and some of the ocean critters were cut with dies from Karen Burniston. Here are some more views of this card from the side, folded down to mail and from the back:

Creating these 3D shadow box cards is easy as I show in my newest video here. Here is another I made for the video:

I made this white on white winter birthday card using the many scenery dies included in the Sizzix Holiday Shadow Box #2 die set by Katelyn Lizardi. I also used a stitched snowflake backgound die from Kat Scrappiness and sentiment dies from Karen Burniston. Here is a view from the side showing the three snowbanks and various trees and buildings included in the Sizzix die set (34 dies!)

Special Card for a Non-Video Monday

Every Monday that is not a major holiday I share a new video on my YouTube channel, but this week I am posting a new video on Tuesday instead as part of a fantastic Valentine's Day collaboration you are not going to want to miss! But while you waiting, I am sharing my favorite new card made with some awesome NBUS products. Don't those ice skates look so very real? They were stamped with Kitchen Sink Stamps Multi-step Figure Skates in shades of grey and black ink. I am a huge fan of Kitchen Sink Stamps because I am not any good at coloring and with their layered stamps and a series of inks, I can stamp shaded beauties like these skates.

I am also a huge fan of Tonic Studios mirror card and the subtly textured background on this card was made with Silky Sky mirror card and an embossing folder from Stampin' Up. I die cut the frame (also out of Tonic mirror card) with a new die from Memory Box called Woodland Heart Frame and die cut the stitched circle with a Gina Marie Designs die.  Here is a look at the inside of the card:

The circle frame is from that same die set from Memory Box, the background is more mirror card embossed with a snowflake embossing folder and the perfect sentiment is from the Kitchen Sink Stamp Multi-step Figure Skates stamp set.

I am entering this card in the challenge at Scrapy Land (I used a Memory Box die.)

Be sure to stop back tomorrow to see a pocket letter full of crafty goodies you would win! And Happy Martin Luther King Day!
