Christmas in July Class Cards

My friend Deb Holms and I taught Christmas in July Fun Folds Cards this last week at Harts N Scraps in Rothschild. All the cards also featured Clear View Transparencies. Deb's card was the star card. My favorite card was the last one with the amazing blue jay from Altenew and the pop up frame from Karen Burniston. Which is your favorite?

Altenew Keyhole Easy Blue Jay or Cardinal Cards

I taught a Christmas in July class this last week and we made a Christmas card with this gorgeous layered blue jay die from Altenew. I needed some thinking of you cards to send to friends this week so I made several cards with the easy keyhole layering die cut set. The sentiment die is from Karen Burniston and the pretty sky paper is from Blue Knight Rubber Stamps. 

The same keyhole system die set from Altenew can be styled into a cardinal and I love how this card turned out! Which is your favorite?

Special Class with Karen Burniston Dies

Everyone who knows me knows I love interactive dies from Karen Burniston and here are the fronts of two cards I taught in a special class at Harts N Scraps locally here. But of course the real magic happens when the cards are opened:

We used Karen's Playful Pop Up dies with the Cat and Dog Add-ons to make these cards and had so much fun! All the dies and stamps you see are also from Karen Burniston. The next special class I am teaching features the Karen Burniston Bitty Ball die set. If you are local and want to get in on the fun, be sure to stop by or call Harts N Scraps as space is limited.

Mermazing Stage Pop Up Card

I have designed two cards recently for classes I am teaching locally at Harts N Scraps featuring Karen Burniston's Stage Pop Up. One uses the Grass Stage Add On and the other the Party Stage Add On. The add ons dies simply change out the outer part depending on what you want. I had not played with the Sea Stage Add On so I made this fun card with many older dies from my stash. 

What is amazing about the Stage Pop Up Die set is that it stands for display and then folds flat to mail. If you are local, be sure to check out the two others I will be teaching soon.

June Interactive Class Cards at Harts N Scraps

My favorite of the interactive cards I taught at Harts N Scraps this weekend was this pop up peacock card made with dies from Karen Burniston. My students loved it too! Here are the rest of the cards I taught:

The last two cards are rocker cards and the flower spins and the ladybug does too along its track.

May Class Cards Featuring Taylored Expressions Create In Quads

Every other month I teach classes at Harts N Scraps with Jill Lemke's Clear View Transparencies and this month I combined them with stenciled card fronts and elements created with Taylored Expressions Create in Quads stencils. Of course each card featured a fun fold or creative ways to frame the transparencies as well. My students were very happy with the 4 cards they made.

Waffle Flower Dad and Mom's Cards

I loved the new sets and stencils released at Waffle Flower last month and bought several sets at our local paper crafting store, Harts N Scraps where I teach classes. I featured Waffle Flower in last month's classes that I taught. Father's Day is next month and the new Postage Collage Dad Silhouettes are perfect for that. But I think it could be used for birthdays and other special days for Dad or Grandpa. The backgrounds on this card were created with the Postage Collage Wavy Lines Stencil. 

I used the new Mom Silhouettes stamps from Waffle Flower and a blue mono-chromatic stenciling and inking for this card.

April Class Cards with Spellbinders and Waffle Flower

This month at Harts N Scraps, my students had great fun making cards with some favorite products from Spellbinders and Waffle Flower. They could choose to make an Old Fashioned or Bloody Mary with a drink die and embossing folder from Spellbinders. Then they made a multi-colored tunnel with the Rainbow Slice Tunnel die from Spellbinders and a crackle embossing folder also from Spellbinders. 

Then the students made two cards with favorite dies, stamps and stencils from Waffle Flower.

Christmas in July Clear Views Class Cards

We had great fun in the Christmas in July classes I taught at Harts n Scraps recently. All of the cards feature Clear Views Transparencies by Jill Lemke that I teach with every other month and are sold very reasonably at the store. The first card is a tri-fold and you can see the puppy through the window. The second card is perfect to recreate for a larger Christmas list and we put old Christmas music behind the transparency. The third card was a class favorite because they learned how to make a pop up present perfect for a gift card or small gift without the use of an expensive die set. And on the last one we added ink through a stencil on glitter paper before adding the ornament and the transparency. 

The students went home with four cards for an early start for their stash of holiday cards and lots of ideas.

May Very Special Class Cards

I just finished teaching my May classes at Harts n Scraps and wanted to share the cards here before I forget. This class was called Special Cards for Very Special Occasions. They included cards that are a bit harder to make like Karen Burniston pop ups and a lace glitter technique plus a fan fun fold that is not mailable so we made a matching box.

April Class Cards with Clear Views Transparencies

I love to design with Clear Views Transparencies and so am so happy that Harts n Scraps is now carrying them and I can teach with them every other month or so. Here are the cards I taught in the April class which focused on various ways to frame them:

I love to teach new techniques and fun folds so none of my cards are just put a transparency on a card base and call it a card. Wait until you see the Christmas in July cards!

August Masculine Class Cards

I am continuing to have great fun teaching classes every month at Harts n Scraps in Rothschild WI. Today I am sharing my masculine cards that I taught in two sessions this month. The first two cards show the woodgrain technique I taught in two different ways. The tree die is from Tim Holtz and the tree scenery stamp is from Blue Knight Rubber Stamps. 

This fun card features dies from Tim Holtz and a 3D embossing folder used differently than expected. The card below features Composition Notebook stamps and dies from Ralph Tyndall and Hero Arts. 

February Class Cards - Celebrating Birthdays with Embossing Folder Techniques

I love to play with embossing folders and new techniques, and in this post I am sharing the 4 cards I taught this month at Harts n Scraps, a paper crafting store here in Rothschild, WI. The card above featured the double embossed technique, and do you believe the card below was made with the same embossing folder from Sizzix?

 

The card front is flat but was embossed with the wax resist technique, and the HB was cut out and raised using the eclipse technique. Here are the other two embossing folder cards I taught:

One is feminine and one is masculine, and show masking, smooshing and spattering with embossing folders. I have great fun designing for and teaching these classes, so if you are local you should check them out (and all the bargains at Harts n Scraps!)
