New Ways to Eclipse with Double Stenciling

Hero Arts has a new release called You've Got a Friend and I got to play with several of the new stencils in that collection. The background stencil is called Check Please and is a perfect addition to anyone's stencil collection with classic checks. I combined it with the new layering stencil set called Bitty Floral and then cut strips raising every other one for a fun new way to eclipse.

I played with other ways to use the stencils on this shaped card cut out with Hero Arts Infinity Butterfly dies. I lightly added teal ink through the Check Please stencil, then moved it over and added some light yellow ink. I chose to overstencil with just two of the stencils in the Bitty Floral stencil and then cut another smaller butterfly out to raise and eclipse. The perfect addition to both of these cards were Spellbinders Color Essentials Gems.

More SCT Crop and Create Cards from the Weekend

In addition to all the dies, stamps, stencils, paper etc. in the huge box we receive for Scrapbook and Cards Today Crop and Create Cardmaking Delivered, we also receive this amazing bound book with all the written instructions and pictures we can refer back to anytime. The two cards shown were made with Gentle Giant dies and stamps from Hero Arts.

Gina K Designs taught us how to make 3 beautiful sympathy cards with her stamps, stencils and dies. Here are the other two I made:

I love rub ons and interactive cards and this was a favorite taught by Scrapbook.com. The birds, branch and sentiment all slide up and down with the hidden message. I also made these two cards in her class:

Spellbinders kit included these unique dies and positive stamped messages as well as the fun bubbly embossing folder. Here are a couple more cards I made in class:

Brutus Monroe gave us his washi strips and washi maps and the clouds and raindrops seemed perfect for this new die and stamp set from Spellbinders.

Hero Arts Friends With Flair Jean Jacket Layering Stencil

I love layering stencils but to be honest I am so tired of flowers and love unique layering stencils like this new one from Hero Arts. It is called Jean Jacket Layering Stencil and is from the new Friends With Flair collection. I see it more like a shirt and cut this card to show the shape. There are 5 stencils in the set and it creates the front and back of the shirt or jacket. Here is a look at the back of this card:

Perfect for any guy! All of the sentiment stamps on these cards are from the new Totally Awesome stamp set also part of the Friends with Flair release at Hero Arts.

I made this card for my husband whose favorite color is orange for Father's Day. And here is another blue shirt card:

There are many views of all these cards because it was so fun to show the front and back of the jackets or shirts. I made a mini-video to show all those sides:

Peace, Love, Joy- Holiday Stenciled Eclpsed Wishes

 

I love to stencil and also to create the eclipse look and in my newest video here, I combine those two loves on one easy to make beautiful card. I am sharing the video on my YouTube channel and on CutCardStock's channel. As I show in the video, I used Neenah Classic Crest Solar White from CutCardStock for the stencil blending as it is the best for blending. The card base is Midnight Blue linen also from CCS. 

I created the same stenciled piece twice with blue ink and the Snowflake Net stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. Then I cut Hero Arts Looking Glass Peace, Love and Joy out of one of them before darkening the words. I raised the top one and the pattern continues from the background to the front for the eclipse look. 

You can see how quickly this card came together when watching this short video and maybe you will decide to try one yourself for your holiday card stash.

Day 3 of Fall 2025 Crop and Create Cardmaking Delivered

We started Day 3 with Concord & 9th and I posted those cards earlier in the week because they were my favorites. But I loved all the cards we created today too.  Next up was Hero Arts and look at these gorgeous stenciled cards:

The last class of the weekend was with Honey Bee Stamps and we made 3 cool men's cards with their Man Cave die set. I changed mine up to feature Packer colors and numbers and simplified the other 2:

After the last class, we were treated to a video by Jennifer McGuire where she brilliantly combined products from many of the companies in her unique way.  Each night SCT gave away amazing prizes and maybe next year I will win:) As I have stated many times, the SCT Crop and Create Cardmaking weekends are worth every penny and I highly recommend them!

Hero Arts Layering Stencils - Couldn't Resist!

I saw a card created with Hero Arts Harbor Layering Stencils and immediately had to buy them and then play with  them! So pretty and so easy to create a gorgeous card! Just blend colors through the 3 stencils and then add a sentiment. 

This card was even faster because I used the same colors for the sky as the water as the packaging shows. I also recently purchased a set of box words from Hero Arts so I tried Peace here for a sympathy card. Not sure if I like the added words?

Vintage Casserole Dishes Bring Smiles and Wonderful Memories

I fell in love with Hero Arts Classic Casserole Die Set because it reminded me of the vintage Pyrex bowls my mother and most of us used years ago. It makes me smile with good memories, and I just had to bring it home to use on my cards. I was playing with the Checkerboard die set from Craft Addiction UK and thought the smaller ones could be used to stack my Pyrex bowls on. We are vintage, not old right??

On my second card, I glued on a bunch of Pyrex bowls along with the pieces that were cut out of them before embedding them by embossing with a favorite Spellbinders embossing folder. The stamp sentiment from Riley and Company continues on the inside of the card:

This cracked me up and of course I just had to buy it. But this part could be perfect on a sympathy card as well.

One Product That Will Make Gorgeous Holiday Cards and Tags in Minutes!

I love to make tags for Christmas gifts and with the new 49 and Market holiday rub ons and two sided cardstock, I made these in just a minute or two. No fancy dies needed- just nip the top corners, punch a hole and add some ribbon. 

In my new video here I also share several postcards made with the beautiful 49 and Market rub ons and the Vintage Postcard Stamp from Penny Black. Here is the other side of each of these and two more I made:

It is less expensive to mail a post card than cards so after making these postcards, it will save a little money to mail them too. As shown, the postcards don't need to be only for Christmas. I took a full sheet of 49 and Market flowers and butterflies, cut the 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 size and attached to the front of the first postcard here. As I show in the video, there is no need to rub on all the rub ons with a stick or bone folder. Simply attach them and run the whole piece through your die cutting machine. The pressure is perfect and way faster to perfectly attach the rub ons. Here is the back of these postcards:

August Masculine Class Cards

I am continuing to have great fun teaching classes every month at Harts n Scraps in Rothschild WI. Today I am sharing my masculine cards that I taught in two sessions this month. The first two cards show the woodgrain technique I taught in two different ways. The tree die is from Tim Holtz and the tree scenery stamp is from Blue Knight Rubber Stamps. 

This fun card features dies from Tim Holtz and a 3D embossing folder used differently than expected. The card below features Composition Notebook stamps and dies from Ralph Tyndall and Hero Arts. 

Guy's Cards with Hero Arts and Other Products

I participated in the Hero Arts Spring Stamp-along recently and here are a couple cards I made with supplies and inspiration after the weekend. One thing I really like about Hero Arts Stamp-alongs are you can choose to buy the class supplies or not. The cost of the classes are very reasonable either way and usually I wait until after the classes to see which of the supplies I really need. 

Ralph Tyndall designed a stamp and die set that looks just like old fashioned composition notebooks and the classes showed several ways to use it creatively. I made a card with the large background stamp and with 3 mini notebooks. Then I made a more colorful notebook card here:

I never have enough guys cards so I also used a new die and embossing folder set from Open Studio/Memory Box to make the background on this card and then added some beer die cuts for an easy quick card perfect for Father's Day. 

More Fun Folds with Rub-on Transfer Beauty

I made this fun easel card in just minutes with vellum and rub-on transfers from Scrapbook.com. I share this and many other fun fold cards with rub-ons in my newest video here. Here is a diagonal joy fold card with more vellum and rub-ons from 49 & Market and Scrapbook.com:

Rub on transfers such as the script shown from Hero Arts make lovely backgrounds and can be stenciled on with ink for even more interest. I chose the Sweater Knit stencil from A Colorful Life Designs because I was featuring the knitting die cuts from Concord and 9th on this diamond flip card. A different kind of rub-ons available nowadays is adhesive transfers like those shown from Pink and Main. After rubbing on the adhesive transfers, foil, glitter or embossing powder can be added, and I chose foil on patterned paper and mirror card as well as on the floating  acetate strip across this slimline bridge card. The stencil on the background is from A Colorful Life Designs.
