Two Sided Sequin Cards Brushed With Sparkle!

In a recent class at Crafter's Companion by Inky Antics I learned about how to use two sided sequin fabric on cards and couldn't resist ordering a bunch and having a play! I share all the cards I made in my newest video here and show how easy it is to make sensational sequin cards like this one:

Can you see what happens when the sequin fabric is rubbed with your finger? It changes from rainbow to silver! I made this card in the video with a new die set from Gemini at Crafter's Companion called Spring Blooms and a sentiment die from Sue Wilson. After I cut the circle I embossed the background with a 3D embossing folder from Altenew and added round Jewel Dazzles from Paper Wishes in all the flowers. 

The rainbow two sided sequin fabric I found here on Amazon is my favorite of the ones I bought and I made this card for my grandson with it. He tried to make a letter in the balloon sequin card I gave him so I put a large piece inside a frame made with stitched rectangle dies from CREAlies for him to play with. I am sending a happy HI to him in the mail soon! 

It is hard to photograph mirror card and the sequins with all that shine reflecting, but here is another card I made with that same die set and teal and purple two sided sequin material. Scratch Off Kid's Card

I am continuing to make birthday cards for little ones and so I was delighted to find some cute stamp sets and scratch off stickers from Inky Antics at the Madison stamp show I went to recently. One of the sets had riddles and the answer will be revealed when the penny is used to scratch off the sticker: 

The flap opens to reveal another cute kitty and sentiment from the same set:

I hope the kids and their parents will like these cards. I will share a few more I did later on this blog- stay tuned:)

Scratch Off Winter Love Card

I bought some scratch off stickers from Inky Antics to use with their stamp sets and designed this card for a special grandson this winter. I love the Joyful Snowman die from Penny Black- he just makes me smile:) I sponged some color on him to highlight his face and features. I also sponged a snowflake background using a Penny Black snowflake stencil. I created a snowbank and sponged that with blue ink and attached my joyful snowman with a small Action Wobble. I wrote a secret message under the scratch off sticker, attached a penny with a removable glue dot and stamped a helpful suggestion from an Inky Antics scratch off stamp set. Here is what my grandson will see when it is scratched off:

Have a To-tea-ly Awesome Day!

I recently received two cards in the mail that gave me the ideas I used in this card. I was reminded of the subtle look of faux silk and a different way to open the card and I consider a card with a great idea one the best presents you can give me:) I stamped the beautiful tea cup from Stampin' Up on a piece of white cardstock in a bright aqua blue ink. I crumbled up a piece of white tissue paper, then attached it after applying a coat of glue stick. The wrinkles remain giving the piece a subtle textured feel and look.

The top part swings open on a hinge to reveal the fun sentiment from Inky Antics on the inside. The bottom front peach piece was embossed with an embossing folder from Embossalicious.

Scrapping Memories Tuesday

My card today features a sweet digital stamp called Waiting for Santa. I paper pieced the reindeer and pjs and colored the rest. I added a sweet sentiment from Inky Antics and cut out the piece with a new Nestabilities die.

Dream Valley and KB Cute Mondays Challeges

The challenge this week at Dream Valley is "Stamp Something" and at KB Cute Monday it is "Anything Goes." I am having so much fin with the new Inky Antics stamps and their Honeycomb paper that pops in the inside! This set features some really cute turtles and birds. Too fun! I embossed the background (Cuttlebug) and paper pieced the turtle and birds.

The inside turtle pops up. I showed my grandson and he just about wore it out opening and closing the card and he had to make one for his Nana and Papa who live at Turtle Run. So fun to share this fun hobby with our children and grandchildren!

Crafting for All Seasons and My Mum's Craft Shop Challenges

The challenge this week at Crafting for all Seasons is "Anything Goes" and at My Mum's Craft Shop it is "Favorite Colors". Greens and blues are my favorite colors and I had fun using spots and dots for a challenge at my stamp club. The stamps are from a fun set by Inky Antics. I paper pieced the elephant, hat and balloon on the front. I embossed the whole front with a large dots folder from Cuttlebug after I attached the green pieces.

The inside has another fun elephant and a lol sentiment for someone about my age. Wishing all my USA blogging friends a great holiday weekend!

Send a Smile 4 Kids Sweet Treats Challenge

It's time for another great Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge and this time we are asking for cards for kids with Sweet Treats on them. Think cupcakes or ice cream or anything sweet and make a card for a kid and enter our challenge for a chance to win a great prize from our sponsor Mari K Creations. The prize includes the following: pink "stickles",  wood mounted cupcake stamp, 2 clear stamp sets, pink chipboard alphabet, Sweet/ Love rub-ons, 14 pieces 5x7 paper, sweet themed, some with glitter and/or foil. For my first Sweet Treats card I used some fun stamps from Inky Antics Honey Pop Collection. The set has stamps you can stamp on the honeycomb paper pad and they POP like the cupcake in the middle of this one. So fun for a child (and adults love them too.) I only added the corners in the center to cover up a mistake I made....

My second card is a really fun new design to me. It is like a card within a card, but still fits in an A2 envelope. The front piece is 8 1/2" by 3 1/2" and the inside piece is 5 1/2" by 6 1/2" and of course each is folded. The inside piece is attached on the back to the front piece. I don't know whose stamps these are but they are perfect for the Sweet Treats theme and of course, I paper pieced the cupcake and ice cream cones to show the different flavors. I added some gems to the inside and a ribbon to complete the card.

Ladybug Crafts TLT and A Spoonful of Sugar Challenges

The challenge this week at Ladybug Crafts TLT is Anything Goes and at A Spoonful of Sugar it is "Let's Celebrate". I made a fun child's birthday card using my new set of stamps from Inky Antics. I paper pieced the elephant and his hat and punched the bottom of the white piece and the corners with a border punch from ek success. Look what is so fun about these sets from Inky Antics:

They have "honeycomb" paper in many colors and special stamps to pop up a balloon (or cupcake or mushroom and others), depending on which set you buy. So this card celebrates a birthday with a fun pop up surprise in the inside of the card.
