Easy Stencil Cards With Pinpoint Texture

What favorite cardmaking supplies do you reach for over and over when making cards? My current favorites are stencils and pinpoint or debossing dies, and in my most recent video I am featuring them on all the cards I share and make in the video.

Isn't the combination of the stenciled ARTplorations Bold Rose over the Memory Box Pinpoint Daisy background die just gorgeous on this card? The stencil is one of many slimline stencils I feature in the video, but as you can see the card does not have to be a slimline one to use this or any stencil from ARTplorations (a division of STAMPlorations.) I have a subscription where I receive 3 brand new slimline stencils quarterly for only $18! You can choose to get yours monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly for that bargain of a price and can choose the ones you want or get brand new ones not even on the website yet! The sentiment is a clear sticker from STAMPlorations.

This is the card I make in the new video. It is a mini-slimline with a fun pop up surprise on the inside. I started with the same pinpoint background die from Memory Box and added Cosmic Shimmer Tantalizing Teal Lustre Polish through ARTplorations Mandala Accent #1 stencil. When it was dry, I layered on a piece of teal cardstock on a peach mini-slimline cardbase and added a Simon Says Stamp sentiment strip. I also created a mini-slimline envelope using a die from Kat Scrappiness. But the real fun happens when the card is opened:

I show how to stencil ink over the Kat Scrappiness pinpoint Stitched Hearts Background die before diecutting out the word LOVE and putting them back in for the eclipse look. The letter dies are Hannah's Alphabet from Dies...To Die For. Here is another view of the inside showing the signature piece on the right side:

As promised in the new video, I am posting pictures of the template I shared here on my blog. However to see how to use this template and how to put the card together, I suggest you watch the new video here. On my template I show two different sizes of the card itself and the W Fold Piece if you have 12 x12 cardstock or if you don't.

I hope you will watch the video and give some of these ideas and products a try!

I am entering the first card in the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday.

A Card for Ukraine and Another Way to Help

"Love the idea of flooding IG and other social media with blue and yellow cards to show our support the crafty way. People might say "it's just a card", and I know it won't change the situation or end the war. But it might give someone who sees this a bit of hope and remind him/her, that the world cares and people try to help in every way they can. And if this happens, making this card was worth it!" #cardsforukraine #sharehandmadekindness #ukrainecarddrive

I copied the first paragraph from a post on the Share Handmade Kindness Facebook page because it says what I wanted to say perfectly. That group is also where I got the graphic to share. Here is my card:

It is very simple in the blues and yellows of the Ukraine flag. The sunflowers (the national floral symbol and a huge part of their economy) were created with a Tonic Studios header die and the sentiment dies are from Dies...To Die For.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy who is one of my favorite pros on Dancing With the Stars is in Ukraine right now and posted this website where we can safely donate money to help Humanitarian Efforts in Ukraine. It is sponsored by CNN and Public Good. As Maks said, they need more than just thoughts and prayers on the ground there. I donated what I could and hope you will too.

Facebook Live Mini Slimline Balloons and Monkey Pop Up Card

I find I need kids cards the most these days and in this week's Facebook Live here, I made this mini slimline version of a card I shared in Monday's video featuring new dies from Karen Burniston. Here are some pictures of the inside of this card:

Super cute, right? But it is way better to show this card in a video like you can see on my Facebook page here, and if you watch and comment before next Wednesday (March 2nd), you could win this card!

Here is a quick mini video to show you the action when the card is opened:

Note to those of you who subscribe to my blog and get this in your email - Not sure why, but videos in my blogposts do not show up in the Follow. It newsletter, so to see this mini-video of the pop up collage, click on the title of this blogpost and visit my blog directly.

More Pop Up Collage Card With Karen Burniston Dies

This is a slimline card I shared in my newest video here and the front features a new set of dies from Whimsy Stamps called Heartbeats Slimline. But of course as is the case on all cards featuring Karen Burniston's pop up dies, the real magic happens when the card is opened:

My message is: "You are in my heart". The new pop up die from Karen Burniston called Hearts Collage Pop-up includes all the small hearts you see and I also used the new Hearts Crosshatch Die Set. Still pictures do not show the pop up movement of these cards when opened, but of course you can see it on the 4 cards I share in the new video here. But if you have just a few minutes now, here is a mini movie I made to show this magic:

Note to those of you who subscribe to my blog and get this in your email - Not sure why, but videos in my blogposts do not show up in the Follow. It newsletter, so to see this mini-video of the pop up collage, click on the title of this blogpost and visit my blog directly.

This is a square kid's birthday card I also made with dies from KB. Can you guess what is going to pop up inside this card?

Another new die in the recent release is the Balloon Collage Add-ons that works with the Hearts Pop Up Collage die to created this fun look. The monkey is also from KB and is part of the Monkey and Lion set. The signature rectangle piece was cut with a wavy wonky rectangle die from Kat Scrappiness.

I find myself needing more kids cards than any other categories, so I am going to make a mini-slimline version of this card in my Facebook Live this Thursday at 11:00 here on my Facebook page, so be sure to join me there either live or on replay later.

Pop Up Collage Cards With Hearts, Butterflies and Balloons- What's Popping Up Next?

I had great fun creating pop up collage cards with the new Heart Collage Pop Up Die from Karen Burniston and her add-ons for my newest video here. The original die includes many hearts that pop up on the pop up arm apparatus and there are add dies with butterflies and balloons in the newest release too. I show cards made with all those in different sizes in the video, and then I decided I wanted to make a kids card with something different popping up.

How about fish?? As I show in the video, I die cut a bunch of little fish from Poppystamps and Impression Obsession and made this mini-slimline card:

The super cute perfect sentiments are from a Poppystamps set of stamps called Whittle Sea Life Sentiments. The stitched oval die and the mini-slimline envelope die are from Kat Scrappiness, and the shark was cut with another Karen Burniston die.

Still pictures just don't do these cards justice because it is in the opening and popping that all the fun is. Of course you can see that on all 4 cards I share in the new video, but here is a mini video of the card I made in the video as I open the card:

Note to those of you who subscribe to my blog and get this in your email - Not sure why, but videos in my blogposts do not show up in the Follow. It newsletter, so to see this mini-video of the pop up collage, click on the title of this blogpost and visit my blog directly.

Here is another mini-slimline card I made for the new video with another matching mini-slimline envelope from Kat Scrappiness:

On the front I transferred on some Dress My Craft Vintage Butterflies and added a perfect sentiment die cut with a die from Quietfire Design. But, of course, the real magic happens when the card is opened:

The butterflies flutter and pop up as the card is opened. I wanted most of the butterflies to have navy body piece with antenna, and some of them were cut with an older Memory Box die.  To see that action and all the collage pop up cards, be sure to watch the new video here.

Learn A Totally Different Way to Use the Products from Monday's YouTube Video

Remember this card from Monday and my YouTube video where I showed how to use the Panoramic Die Set from Hot Off The Press and Paper Wishes the traditional way as a 4 sided panoramic card? I love to find totally different ways to use the same dies and products to create a totally different card, and that is what I showed in this week's Facebook Live you can find here on my Facebook page. (Look for the 2/16/22 Live Video.)

I learned on the Paper Wishes webisode about this die set how to put it on the inside of a card as a pop up from Teresa of the Paper Wishes design team. Here is a link to that video. I used the same awesome set of dies and stamps from Concord and 9th called Love You More to decorate this card but this time I am making the card for an adult female. We love our french fries and ice cream too, but also love our coffee and naps! And that's a lot of love!

I framed the pillows and sentiments with a perfect ruffled frame cut with a die from Dies...To Die For at Shopscrapbook101.com.

I love how this card turned out and hope you do too. I might send the card to you in the mail if you watch the Live here and comment before next Wednesday (2/23/22) and if you have a USA mailing address.

I hope you are finding time this week to be creative and then spreading that joy out into our world!

Altenew Class Bonus Inspired Cards

I am taking an Altenew class this week called Crafter Class Spring 2022 and on one of the days we had a bonus card lesson featuring the idea of creating strips in different widths and using them behind an open die. I just received some new Glitter Ombre' Mirri Card from Hunky Dory Crafts at Paper Wishes and I cut the strips for each of these cards out of that gorgeous cardstock. My first card above features the beautiful Altenew Radial Hearts Cover Die and a "forever" sentiment die from STAMPlorations.

It is hard to photograph mirror card but this pix shows the diagonal strips a little better behind the Birthday Message Cover Plate from Hero Arts.

Here is another card where the strips are more visible. I framed them with the Beautiful Butterflies Sidekick Frame from Poppystamps and added an acetate jewel butterfly from Hot off the Press at Paper Wishes.

I went through my dies and found this open floral coverplate from Gina Marie Designs that also works beautifully with the background of strips of mirri card. I love all the cards I made easily with this idea I learned in the Altenew class bonus session.

More Fun Fold Cards From My Newest Video

This is another cute fun fold card for kids I show in my newest video here. The adorable H and B animal letters are from a set from Sizzix and the stitched balloons are from Crealies.

It is a wiper card and that motion is hard to capture in a still picture, so here is a mini-video for you to see:

I made the front of this slimline easel card with a die from Whimsy Stamps called Slimline Window Tiles. I added some texture with an embossing folder from Couture Creations. The adorable tacos, avocados and nachos were cut with whittle dies from Poppystamps and then I stamped the perfect sentiments with a Poppystamps set called "Live is Sweet." Here is another view of this slimline easel card:

I had so much fun creating these fun fold cards for special kids and hope you will watch the video and then stop by my Facebook page for more fun fold follies in the LIVE on Thursday.

I am entering the slimline card in the Embossing challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday (I used an embossing folder on the front.)

Spec-Taco-Lar Fun Fold Cards For Kiddos

Is that possible? Sure is! In my newest video I share 5 different fun fold cards perfect for any kids of any age and I show how to make this fun panoramic card step by step:

As I show in the video, it is super easy to make this stand up panoramic card with the Panoramic Card Cutting Dies set from Paper Wishes and Hot Off The Press. The adorable sentiments and pizza, ice cream and french fries dies are from a bundle set by Concord & 9th called Love You More.

I am going to make a version of this card for adults showing a very different way to use the Panoramic Card Cutting Dies and the Love You More bundle on my Facebook Live this week at 11:00 a.m. CST Thursday on my Facebook Page here, so be sure to watch that either live or on replay. I always give away the card I make in the Live and you could be that winner!

Here is another fun fold mini-slimline card I shared in the video. The front dies including the matching envelope are from Kat Scrappiness. I put a tiny slide in message for my grandson in one of the envelopes. Here is a peak at the inside of the card:

That sure is Happy Mail! The grass was created with the Nature's Edges slimline die from Dies...To Die For at Shopscrapbook101.com. The Pop Up Mailbox is a new set from Karen Burniston. But still pictures do not do this card justice so here is a mini-movie showing the action as the card is opened:

Isn't that fun?! Evan is going to love his interactive card with the surprise on the inside. There are several more cards to share on the new video so be sure to watch here.

Cardmaking and sharing cardmaking ideas brings me great joy and I love to send my cards into the world to spread that joy! My challenge to you is to try something new, and then send your handmade cards out to spread joy too!
