Two More Sizes of Woven Basket Cards With Dies From Karen Burniston

A while back Karen Burniston released her Woven Basket Box Card die set that easily makes little woven baskets that lay flat to mail like the one I made above for my newest video. I filled mine with flowers and greens cut with dies from Kat Scrappiness and My Favorite Things and a "thank you" sentiment from Karen Burniston. Almost immediately after releasing this die set, people were wondering how to make a bigger woven basket card and Karen shared how to double the width with this die set. But recently Karen Burniston released the Wide Woven Basket Card die set that can make double wide baskets or larger square basket cards like this one I made:

I filled this large basket card with graduation die cuts and a gift of money for the graduate. The adorable bookworm and books in the front were created with a new die set from Karen Burniston and the dancing grads were created with a die from Taylored Expressions. The little envelope with the cash gift in it was made with the Mini Envelope Maker from WeRMemoryKeepers. I had great fun making these woven basket cards in three sizes for my newest video and hope they encourage you to give some of the ideas and products a try!

Fabulous Folded Cake Box Cards and Video

Who doesn't love birthday cakes? We all do and in my newest video here I show how to make this floral stand up birthday card and many others with the newest Fabulous Folded die set from Paper Wishes. I am a subscriber so at the end of each month I receive a fun surprise in the mail and this month's die set is the Cake Box Card die set. As I show in the video, these cake box cards can stand up as shown and then lay flat to mail. But I show step by step how the cake box can also be attached inside and card and pop up when the card is opened and here is the card I made:

The Cake Box Die Set includes many flower dies, the candle and the tag as shown in the inside of this card and the first card above. On the front of this card I used stitched flower dies from My Favorite Things and a birthday sentiment die from Karen Burniston. Here is another card I made with the cake popping up inside the card:

I made this cake box card for my grandson who loves dinosaurs with dino stickers from Pipstickers and a fun die from Whimsy Stamps.

Drinks and Cocktails 3D Toppers on Tri-Fold Cards

I have many friends who love an occasional alcoholic drink or wine, so I had fun easily adding 3D embellishments to these cards from the Drinks and Cocktails Easy 3D Toppers from Hearty Crafts. I added three embellishments to this trifold card cut with the new Fabulous Folded Tri-Fold Surprise die set. I just got this die as part of my Fabulous Folded monthly subscription.  Each of the dies are available without subscribing, but I save 10% and get my die set earlier plus a freebie each month. 

I show in the new video how to make a card similar to this one. The front features another 3D embellishment, a stamp from  My Favorite Things and a card front cut with the new Short Rectangle Crosshatch die from Karen Burniston. As is the case with many cards made with Karen Burniston's dies, the most fun happens when the card is opened:

More Cascading Card Beauty From My Newest Video

I just received some gorgeous Tonic Studios header dies and they worked beautifully with the Creative Craft Products Zig Zag Stepper Card dies to make this awesome cascading card I share in my newest video here.  I just love the red, black and white color combo and the subtle touch of the pinpoint hearts made with the Kat Scrappiness Heart Coverplate. Here is another view of this card:

This is a cheerful happy birthday version of the cascading zig zag card. The circular happy birthday die is from My Favorite Things and the balloon dies are from Crealies and Karen Burniston. 

I put a wavy wonky rectangle (Kat Scrappiness die) to write a message on and some more fun stitched balloons on the back. 

I had so much fun creating these cascading cards for this video, and on Thursday I am going to make a special graduation version in my Facebook Live here at 11:00 a.m. cst.  The one I make is going to make will be in Barron's school colors, but if you comment during the live or on replay with the school colors of your next graduate, I will make you a personalized card and mail it out to you (USA addresses only.) RubberStampMadness Summer 2021 Article Cards

I am honored to share that 4 of my cards are featured in a three page article in the newest issue of RubberStampMadness! Most of the cards feature stamping with stencils and this is one of the cards. I applied yellow and orange ink through a Mini Galaxy stencil from The Crafter's Workshop and then over stamped the gorgeous "Part of the Dance" stamp from Technique Junkies in black ink. As I so often do I completed the card with some of my favorite gems from Gina Marie Designs. 

I love how this card turned out with the combination of a stamped text background created with the Romantic Script Background stamp from My Favorite Things and the layered floral Sweet Spring stencil from Altenew! I added a sentiment strip stamp from Taylored Expressions and more gems from Gina Marie Designs.

I told the author of the article about my cards that this card was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest years ago, but do not have a link to credit the original cardmaker. The beautiful bride stamp set which includes the sentiment stamp is called Haute Wedding Dress from The Ton and the stencil is from Carabelle Studio. After I did the stamping and stenciling, I created a reverse stencil and added Irisdescent Glitz Glitter Gel from Gina K Designs and Therm O Web. 

One of my cards chosen for the article included no stamping or stencils but is a favorite of mine featuring gorgeous dies from Sue Wilson and Creative Expressions in a slimline format. And of course because I almost always do, I added some gorgeous gems from Gina Marie Designs.

Video - Faker Shakers and Liquid Shakers For Easy Unique Interactive Cards

I love to make interactive shaker cards and in my newest video here I am sharing how to make liquid shaker cards and faker shaker cards. Here is the first liquid shaker card I made after being inspired by a similar card shared by Jaime Kaufman on a Facebook group page:

I show in the new video how to add liquid that looks like wine in the wine glass cut with a die from My Favorite Things and the perfect sentiment is also from MFT. The Ruffle Edge Rectangle die and the Torn Edge sentiment strip die are both from Dies...To Die For. 

Another favorite liquid of mine is coffee so I made this angle pop up coffee lovers card with dies from Karen Burniston. Here is a look at the inside of this fun fold coffee card: 

The coffee cup that pops up was created with a Tim Holtz Sizzix die and the perfect sentiment die is from Cutplorations.

I decided to combine the Angle Pop Up fun fold idea with a liquid wine shaker and this is the card I show how to make in the video: 

I love this angle pop up fun fold and the wine liquid shaker but did struggle a bit to get the two ideas on the shaped angle pop up fun fold, so I suggest you stick to a more traditional shape as shown on the first card here. I do demo how to make the angle pop up fun fold and liquid shaker in the new video here. The wine glass die and the wine lovers sentiments stamps are again from My Favorite Things, Cheers is from Cutplorations and the large Happy Birthday was cut with a die from Karen Burniston.

Angle Pop Up Wine Lovers Card For the February Challenge at Crafty Chefs

I belong to a Facebook monthly challenge group where we are given a "recipe" of items to include in our card. The group is called Crafty Chefs and is very low pressure- make a card anytime using the recipe and share it. It is a good way to challenge ourselves to try something new and we are always looking for new members, so check it out here and consider joining us for some crafty fun!

Our required elements this month are fun fold, stamped image, pink and purple color combo and patterned paper. The optional items are embossing folder, doily and flowers. I used a new Altenew embossing folder on the purple mirror card (from Tonic) on this Angle Pop Up fun fold card. This fold is new to me and I learned how to do it from Dawn Griffith here. The cute wine loving chick is a stamp from Taylored Expressions and I paper pieced her with some patterned paper. The fun pop up part is in the inside: 

The side of the card pops up and I attached a wine bottle to it. The wine bottle and glass were cut with dies from My Favorite Things and the "Cheers" is a die from Cutplorations. Here is a better look at the funny sentiment from Taylored Expressions:

Video - Pop Up, Box and Fun Fold Cards With Dies and Stamps

I love to make interactive and pop up cards and in my new video I share bunch of pop up and box cards with dies from several new companies I have recently discovered. 

This is the card I make in the video and I show how easy it is to make with a new die set from Scrappy Tails called the Slimline Pop Up. I love to make slimline cards and pop up cards so of course I could not resist this die set! 

Happy Spring and the slimline hills are dies from Karen Burniston, "Sending Hugs" is by Sue Wilson and the cute bunnies are from Impression Obsession. Here is another slimline pop up card I made with the Scrappy Tails die: 

I had a new set of cute animals stamps from Penny Black and a perfect set of sentiment stamps for these days from My Favorite Things called I Miss Your Hugs so I decided to make a card combining those stamps with the Slimline Pop Up Die Set from Scrappy Tails. I used two sided cardstock to make the card base but when it was done, I wished I had used a stronger weight cardstock, so that is a tip for you if you get this die set.

Scrappy Tails also has an A7 sized pop up box die with a bunch of decorative pieces and also an unique A7 Pop Up Spring Mechanism Die that I show in the video here. That spring mechanism die means the box card will spring up and open when the card is taken out of the envelope! I used several more of those perfect stamps from My Favorite Things on the front and back of this card along with a favorite "Miss Your Face" die from Dies...to Die For on this fun box card. As usual I had so much fun making pop up box and fun fold cards with my new dies and stamps I didn't stop with just three. I show many more cards and how to make a pop up slimline and how a box card can spring open in the new video here. Video - How To Make Fantastic Fun Fold and Triple Cube Cards

I love the colors of fall and also love making fun fold cards, so I combined those two loves to make the cards for my new video. Have you seen the many triple cube cards all over internetland? I decided to try one and show you how I made this one in the video: 

 There was a very good tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers on how to make a triple cube card but I wanted to make a larger version so I figured out those measurements and share them in the video. I liked the idea for the sentiment on the top center that I learned from Sam of Mixed Up Crafts so as I show in the video, that is how I attached the oval and sentiment. I used Gina Marie Designs Pierced Chain oval and slimline dies (on the back.) The rounded corner stitched square die is from My Favorite Things and the sentiment is a die from Karen Burniston. All the gorgeous fall leafy paper on this and all my cards is from the new Festive Fall Slimline Sized paper from Divinity Designs. Here are a couple more views:

Wouldn't this be lovely on your Thanksgiving table? I die cut Bright Rosa's Foliage Sprigs in several colors of mirror  and glitter cardstock but you could use floral stems or twigs from the craft store in yours.
