Viva! 3D Stamp-paint Feather Card for Classes

Sometimes a card comes together very easily and other times I struggle with the design for days. I started this idea weeks ago and was not happy with the card. After setting it aside for a while, I tried again and this time I am thrilled with how it turned out. I was designing it for a class in my home on using Viva 3D Stamp Paint and the class is now up on my Flickr board here along with several other new classes.

I started by sponging a feather stencil with light blue distress ink, then sponged the rest of  the background with a swirls and dots stencil by ColorBox. The feather stencil (sorry do not know who made that one) has two open feather shapes and two detailed feather outlines that match. I taped the detailed outline stencil down and applied blue Viva 3D Stamp-paint though the stencil outline. In real life, this paint is sparkly and adds wonderful texture to the card. I cut some small feather dies (IO) from vellum, colored the back side with a blue Copic and attached with some blue thread. I added some sequins, a "hello" from Paper Smooches, and rounded one corner of the layers and the card base.

I am entering this card in the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Sister Act.
