A Tribute and a Love Card

"Don't cry because it is over, Smile because it happened."
-Dr. Suess

I love Donald Driver and am not ashamed to say that publicly. What a class act! Loyal to the Packer organization, his family and his fans, he showed us all how to play and how to retire from the game when the time is right. He will always be my favorite Packer and I can't wait to see what his next chapter in life holds for him.

Love is the theme of my card today too:) This is a card I designed for my classes in my home last month, showing a fold I learned how to do here. This is how the fold looks from the inside:

Not hard to do, but unique. I added a punched heart border (Martha Stewart) to the bottom of the inside and the heart die cut (Nestabilities) on the inside is for your heartfelt written words.

(If you are local to Wausau, WI., there is one opening in my day time and night time classes if you would like to join us.)

I am entering this card in the Romance challenge at Digi Stamps 4 Joy, the "Have a Heart" challenge at Simon Says Stamp, and the Anything Goes challenge at Love's Rubberstamps.

Crackerbox Palace Thursday

It’s another Crackerbox Palace Thursday and I am sharing two lovely cards created by Vicky Briggs, the owner of Crackerbox Palace.  Aren’t they great?  For all the details on how she made them, some more pictures and what CBP stamps she used, please visit her blog here.

Mr. Random has chosen and the winner of last Thursday’s blog candy is                                             Pat Moore!  Here is her winning comment from my blog:  “The boxer shorts are a hoot. The giraffes are so sweet. I especially like how the classy cat became a Valentine.”

Pat, please send me or Vicky your address and your choice of which stamps you want (see your options below), so we can get you the stamps you have won.
So would you like to win the stamps featured on today’s card or your choice of another CBP stamp? Here is how to win our weekly blog candy:

Vicky or Karen will post a card or two every Thursday on both blogs. All you need to do is to leave a comment on either blog and if you leave a comment on both blogs you will have a double chance to win. We hope you also want to 'follow' the blogs. The following Wednesday a name will be picked at random and the winner will receive:

The featured stamps that we used in one of the cards that were posted,
OR you can pick out a stamp that is worth up to $10.00 and email us your choice
OR Vicky will email you a coupon code so you can go shopping at
Crackerbox Palace store for your choice of the stamp(s) you would like with a $10.00 coupon.

For a Bonus: if you use the blog candy stamps and post it on your blog, Splitcoast or somewhere else you will be able to choose another free stamp. So make sure you check out one of our blogs on Thursday! The winner will have 2 weeks to contact Karen or Vicky.

So leave us a comment for a chance to win and come back and see us again next week!

What If? Wed. Sketch Challenge

It's time for another fun sketch challenge at The House that Stamps Built and we are challenging you to make a card using the sketch below and link it up for a chance at some great Repeat Impressions rubber! For all the details on what you can win and to see the other Rock Stars cards using this sketch, please visit our blog.

For my card, I decided to make another Valentine’s Day card as it is fast approaching. I used a variety of hearts- embossed, punched and stamped and the fun sketch to create this CAS Valentine.

Here is the sketch for you to follow when you create a card for our challenge. You do not need to use Repeat Impressions stamps to enter our challenges, but you get an extra chance to win if you do!

Repeat Impressions Stamp of the Week

The stamp of the week this week at Repeat Impressions is this sweet “Roses are Red” sentiment for stamper’s Valentines, and it is available this week only for 50% off with the discount code found at Repeat Impressions blog. What a deal! Please visit the blog for all the details and to see the other Rock Star's cards using this stamp.

For my card, I cut a hole in the front of an embossed red card so you can see the stamping inside. I stamped the “Roses are Red” sentiment on the Cat Banner stamp and surrounded it with a blue hearts background. I popped up one of the embossed candy hearts to say “luv u” to the special recipient.

Simon Says Stamp and Moving Along with the Times Challenges

Anything Goes at Simon Says Stamp this week and at Moving Along with the Times, they want us to "Punch it Out". I saw a similar card on Pinterest with the mittens and the play on words for a fun Valentine, so just had to case it. My mittens were punched with the Stampin' Up mitten punch and I also punched some hearts in the corners. The word was created in my Word program and the heart glued on with bakers twine. Such a sweet idea that I was inspired to make from this Splitcoast picture found on Pinterest.

Easter/Spring Cards 4 Kids at SAS4Kids!

It’s Saturday so it must be time for another fun challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids! This time our challenge is Easter or Spring Cards 4 Kids. While it may still be winter where you are, it is time to think about Easter and Spring, especially if you want to send in your cards for our kids. You do not have to donate your card(s) after you enter our challenge, but our kids would sure love it if you did. And remember we are a card only challenge- cuz that is what we are all about- cards for our kids!

We have three very generous sponsors this week: Bugaboo is giving their winner 7 digis of their choice! And Tiddly Inks is giving their randomly picked winner a $12 Gift Certificate! A Day for Daisies’s winner will receive a $12 gift certificate! TEAM S.A.S will also be choosing their favorite cards for our top three and the winners will receive a blog badge and an opportunity to be a guest design team member on a future challenge.

My first card above features Easter Bunny Parachute from Bugaboo. Isn't he sweet? I created the egg shaped card with a oval grands die from Spellbinders and as always, I paper pieced most of the image.

My second card features a fun line of Spring Chicks from A Day for Daisies- too sweet! I used a bunch of spring colored scraps of dp to paper piece the chicks and their eggs and embossed a border using a tulip embossing folder from Stampin' Up. The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions (and is used in the card below too.)

Danny's Duck is the sweet image from Tiddly Inks that is featured on my third card. I used a sketch that we were challenged to create a card with at my local stamp club's recent meeting and popped him up over a green embossed hill.

I am entering the Bugaboo egg shaped card in the challenge at Perfect Sentiments to make a card with a diecut and include a sentiment. I am also entering the Anything Goes challenges at Simon Says Stamp and Through the Craftroom Door.

Love's Rubberstamps and Die Cuttin' Divas Challenges

"Have a Heart" is the theme this week at Love's Rubberstamps and Anything Goes at Die Cuttin' Divas as long as we use a die cut. I fell in love with this card here that I have seen over and over on Pinterest and pretty much cased it. I used a Spellbinders heart die to cut the hearts and a Stampin' Up embossing folder and sentiment and then added a button in the inside of the square. I think this is my favorite of the cards I have made recently and once again, my inspiration came from Pinterest. Love that site!! What did we ever do without it before?
