Silhouette Sunday Halloween Time

At the Silhouette Blog Challenge this week they want to see our Fall projects. I have been meaning to make some Halloween cards for my kids at Send a Smile 4 Kids and since I had a few minutes today, I played with some of the fun Halloween cutting files I have purchased from The Silhouette America Store. 

I call my Silhouette Portrait my "magic machine" and I truly believe that. I made these cards today with the little time I had to play. I also made 100 thank you notes with my Silhouette this week, but that's another story for another blog post...

I loved the witches boots I have seen on Halloween cards the last few years, but am hesitant to spend the money on a set of stamps I will use so little. But at 99 cents max for cutting files (even less with my subscription) I can make some really cute Halloween cards easily and inexpensively. These witches boots are by Miss Kate and I thought the sentiment was just perfect (all files are from The Silhouette America Store.) I embossed the background of this card with a spider web embossing folder from Cuttlebug and sponged some black ink around the edges.

I had some extra witches boots so I added one to the inside of the card. I love to emboss the whole card so the inside and back are embossed as well.

My second Halloween card was so simple to make but I think one of my kids will love it. I added some googly eyes to the Boolicious - what a fun word:)

Cute Halloween or Fall Cards 4 Kids!

It’s Saturday and time for another fun challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids! This time our challenge is Cute Halloween or Fall Cards 4 Kids. Create and link any cute Fall or Halloween card for a child and you could win one of our great prizes. We start early here at SAS4Kids because late October would be too late to get your cards to our kids who are in the hospital on this holiday (if you wanted to send it in.) Please no scary cards or creepy cards for this challenge or for our kids!

We have three very generous sponsors for this challenge: The Paper Shelter is giving their winner a $20 gift certificate! Delicious Doodles is giving their randomly picked winner 4 digis of their choice!  And QKR Stampede’s winner gets 5 digis of their choice! My first card above features a cute digi from The Paper Shelter called "A Great Harvest". I thought he had a great haul of candy so I used that pun in my sentiment. The digi was already colored so making this cute card for one of my kids was easy and fun. 

My second card highlights a fun spider from Delicious Doodles. I started with a little embossing and paper pieced the spider. The sentiment is from Crackerbox Palace.

What If? Wed. Sketch Challenge

It's time for another fun sketch challenge at The House that Stamps Built and we are challenging you to make a card using the sketch below and link it up for a chance at some great Repeat Impressions rubber!  I used Repeat Impression’s Leaf Motif around the circle in green to create the border and stamped a simple sentiment in the middle. The sketch is a fun one and I used shades of green cardstock and designer paper to complete the CAS card.

 Here is the sketch for you to follow when you create a card for our challenge. You do not need to use Repeat Impressions stamps to enter our challenges, but you get an extra chance to win if you do!

It Feels like Fall in the Air!

It feels like fall today in central Wisconsin so I sharing a card I made recently with a sketch that was a challenge for our local stamp club. I am entering this card in the Fall or Spring challenge at The Squirrel and the Fox and the Anything Goes challenge at Challenges 4 Everybody.

I started with a fall embossing folder by Cuttlebug and a leaf border punch by ek success. The stamps are all from Kitchen Sink Stamps and help create a beautiful but easy to make fall card.

It's Magic Monday and yet *&^%$# Happens too...

A dear friend shared this philosophy with me recently when she was facing major medical issues and I decided to use her words for her card. Sometimes we just need to face whatever we are dealing with and say "Life goes on- deal with it!" I so admire her attitude and hope I can remember to use her wisdom when I need it. I used my computer to make the words and rounded opposite corners to create the shapes. The white shapes and the background were embossed with a Stampin' Up embossing folder for texture.

I am entering this card in the Texture challenge at Totally Gorjuss and the challenge at Allsorts to feature your sentiment.

In addition to a day off work (Happy Labor Day!), today is the start of Magic Mondays at Repeat Impressions's Blog, The House that Stamps Built.  So instead of the Stamp of the Week blog posts you are used to seeing if you follow me, each Monday a different Rock Star will share a fun Project of the Week with samples. Personalized Birthday Cards on Silhouette Sunday

The challenge this week at the Silhouette Blog is to create new projects with files from Silhouette America and the Silhouette cutting machine. I am doing that all the time and especially love how easy it is to make a special card for a special person with inexpensive cutting files from Silhouette America. The card above is for my sister who winters in Arizona and loves the cactus and everything else about Arizona. The sentiments on the front and inside (below) were free digital stamps from TLC Creations.

My second card was for my son-in-law to be for his birthday. Obviously he is big into playing soccer and I simply cut two Silhouette files and attached to a green square card. So easy, but so perfect just for him.

I am entering these cards in the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp.
