Vellum Tattoo Lady Card for My Daughter

It's Crackerbox Palace Friday and I am sharing another card I made for my daughter with Crackerbox Palace’s Lady with a Tattoo. My daughter and I just love this stamp and she asked for some cards featuring her. For this one I stamped her on velum and colored her outfit and tattoo with markers from the back. I framed her with an embossing and cutting folder from Cuttlebug and then layered that piece on a white card.

CAS One Layer Card

In anticipation of taking another on line class about CAS One Layer cards from On Line Classes, I decided to play with any idea that popped into my head the other night. The last class I took from them was all about using stencils and after taking it, of course I had to buy some more stencils. They are very reasonable and fun to design with. I have to admit I have a hard time designing one layer cards. I do CAS easily, but I usually add a layer or two and dimension to my cards. But I am taking the course to learn some new techniques from the fantastic designers who teach the classes and I can always use the ideas on layered cards as well.

Anyway, the idea I had was to use the painter's tape technique with a stencil. I started with a white card base and a Heidi Swapp stencil. I pushed my painters tape into an aqua blue ink and placed over the holes in the stencil for a distressed look. I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp, the circle from Hero Arts and the blobs from Precious Remembrance. I think I like it- but I expect I will like the cards more after I take the class, and will definitely be sharing here with you.

What If Wed.? Sketch Challenge at Repeat Impressions

Happy Wednesday everyone! It's time for another fun sketch challenge at The House that Stamps Built and we are challenging you to make a card using the sketch below and link it up for a chance at some great Repeat Impressions rubber! When I saw the sketch Wendy at Repeat Impressions drew for us for this challenge, I immediately saw the arched Stained Glass Window from this new series of stamps at the Repeat Impressions website. I love that the set also has the individual quilt blocks that you can stamp in different colors which I have done here, using peach and blue patterned papers. I raised the center block and the arched window on top with pop dots. I layered on aqua blue cardstock and added a burlap ribbon with a peach flower tied on with gold cord.

Here is the sketch for you to follow when you create a card for our challenge. You do not need to use Repeat Impressions stamps to enter our challenges, but you get an extra chance to win if you do!

Hello Spring Card in a Box

I am still having fun making Cards in a Box and using bright spring colors. Scroll down my blog if you want a link on how to make these fun cards. I started with a two sided cardstock from Stampin' Up and then added flowers (Tattered Florals die by Tim Holtz), butterflies (Martha Stewart, Stampin' Up and Memory Box), greens (Cherry Lynn), and a new "hello" from Paper Smooches. Here is a picture where you can see the front better and also the inside of the box where some of the elements are attached:

Pearls and Flowers on Silhouette Sunday

The theme of the challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp challenge is Anything Goes with Pearls. My favorite embellishment to add to a card is pearls and I have them in every color under the sun. I created a black gatefold card and simply attached a wedding dress and a tux both cut out with my Silhouette using Silhouette America cutting files. I added a couple peach flowers and each flower on her dress was highlighted with a pearl. Fun and easy wedding card for a special couple.

Easter/Spring Cards 4 Kids Challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids

It’s Saturday and time for another fun challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids! This time our challenge is Easter/Spring Cards 4 Kids! Create and link any Easter or Spring card for a child and you could win one of our great prizes. We start early for each holiday during the year, because if the cards are going to be donated for our kids, we need to receive them in time to bring or mail to the children’s hospitals we serve before the holiday arrives.

My first card above features Bunny and Egg and Hoppy Easter digital stamps from QKR Stampede. I stamped the sweet bunny on pink patterned paper and the egg on yellow and cut them out. I cut a blue pennant and attached to a yellow polka-dotted card base. I added the green square diagonally and then the yellow pennant with "Hoppy Easter" and some doodling. The bunny was attached with an adhesive spring so he wiggles and wobbles when moved.

My second card features another sweet bunny called Bunny Boo from Squigglefly. I printed her on white cardstock, paper pieced her outfit and added some pink coloring. The card base is spring green with a floral border punched with a Martha Stewart punch. I attached yellow cardstock to the inside of the card and added a Happy Spring sentiment cut with my Silhouette and a Silhouette America cutting file. I finished the card with another flower and a couple gems.
