Hogs & Sketches Challenge & Curtain Call Act 41

The sketch this month at Hambo's Hogs & Sketches was a fun one and since I love Hambo's stamps, I decided to play along. I also used the colors from Curtain Call #41 (light blue, navy, crumb cake and white).

I flipped the sketch and layered light blue and light brown strips on my navy background piece and ran the whole thing through the big shot in an embossing folder. I just loved the "Chipmunk Blessing" saying from Hambo's new release and of course had to buy the cute chipmunk with it. I cut out the chipmunk and paper pieced his pile of nuts. The inside says "Happy Birthday to my Favorite Nut". Too cute.

Scrapbook Friday

These pages are from the Christmas pageant last year at my grandson's daycare. Sorry for the blurriness on the first page... But it does show the first of the two page spread with the kids all lined up to sing carols to the parents and grandparents lucky enough to be there.

After singing, the kids got to sit on Santa's lap. Too cute.

Speedy the Cat #14 Thank You Card

The challenge this week at Mark's Finest Papers was to make a thank you card. I have two to share- same idea, different colors. I embossed on Core'dinations paper and sanded it. Add some pearls and a thank you tag and you have an elegant card.

Repeat Impressions Sketch Challenge

I really liked the sketch this week at Repeat Impressions and decided to make it into a sympathy card. The focal point is one of the new CB folders that cut and emboss. I trimmed the center piece that pops out and popped it up with mounting tape. The sentiment is from Endless Creations and the border punch is from Fiskars.

Dutch Dare Challenge

The challenge this week at Dutch Dare Challenges was Anything Goes! That's easy enough... I am using a very funny card I designed for a challenge at our Stamp Shoppers Club- use scraps on our card. Lots of scraps in this one:) The funny lady is from Art Impressions and I paper pieced her dress (with a scrap) and colored the rest of her with Copics. The What's up saying is from Hambo and we're not sure who makes the B;^$#(* Birthday stamp, but isn't it hysterical? I borrowed it from my BFF but she may not get it back:)

The card sketch was totally borrowed from one I saw on line, so if it is yours, Thanks!

Operation Write Home Challenge

The challenge this week at Operation Write Home was to make Christmas cards for our soldiers overseas. I made this CAS card with a Just Rite stamp in the middle and the new Cuttlebug folders that cut and emboss at the same time.

If you have any extra cards or can make some in the next month or two, please check out the OWH site right now as they are having a Birthday celebration with lots of prizes and suggestions on hosting card making parties or collecting pledges to help pay for the cost of sending the cards overseas. The Old Spice commercial is fun to watch too:)

Skipping Stones SSD35 Challenge

I used the sketch from Skipping Stones Design AND their stamps to create this fun card. The chicks are paper-pieced which gives each one their own personality. I embossed the green background pieces together and the first time I ran it through I put the paper in the embossing folder the wrong way. So the backside was embossed and the front debossed. I decided to leave it and run it through again the right way so it has a combo embossed and debossed images. The flower was made after watching this tutorial. So easy to do and a nice floral addition to any card.
