Video - Die Cut Crazy Series - CAS to Detailed Cards with Poppystamps Raining Frame Die Set

I am die cut crazy and love to share ways to stretch our crafty dollars by using the same die set in different ways. I recently won the awesome Poppystamps Raining Frame Die Set and in my newest video I share many cards ranging from CAS (Clean and Simple) to more detailed cards. 

 Here are two versions of the card I make in the video. The Raining Frame Die from Poppystamps is perfect for the Magical Rain Shaker Cards. The beads hide away and then move up and down on invisible thread to create the illusion of rain. 

On both of these samples I inlaid a bright yellow cheerful umbrella and created grass and clouds with dies from Karen Burniston. "Sending Hugs" is a die from Sue Wilson and the sentiment banner and "sunshine" stamp are from Taylored Expressions. Here is another view of the "rain" beads:

I created a stormy rainy sky for this card with Distress Oxide inks and the Poppystamps Raining Frame Die. The inlaid umbrella was created with a scrap of glossy cardstock with Nuvo Shimmer Powders and cling wrap from this video. I found the perfect uplifting and hopeful sentiment on the Internet (unattributed) and printed it out for my rainy day cards. Loving the New Altenew Dotted Starburst Debossing Cover Plate!

My favorite new cover die is the Altenew Dotted Starburst Debossing Cover Die and this is just one of the cards I have made with it this week! This cover die cuts all the little dots of pattern you see on this card front and adds beautiful subtle details and texture! I used the Simon Says Stamp Shimmer Butterfly to die cut out the stitched butterfly opening and the yellow patterned butterfly and raised the pink piece on pop dots. "Hello" is a die from Tonic Studios and I added some gems from Gina Marie Designs. The debossed cut out butterfly was way too pretty to toss, so I put it in the inside of the card:

I love this cheerful bright hello card and will send it to someone special soon. 

Three More Cards and Background Die Techniques From My Newest Video

 Inlaid diecutting is one of the background die techniques I share in my newest video featuring new Pattern Plate dies from Karen Burniston and Cosmic Shimmer Aurora Flakes. I cut two blue Swirls Pattern Plates and inlaid some of the waves around this cardfront. The mermaid is a die from Impression Obsession and she is shiny and gorgeous with Golden Onxy Cosmic Shimmer Aurora Flakes. Here is a peak at the inside of this card with more fun Karen Burniston and Impression Obsession dies:

I created a stencil with the new Tiles Pattern Plate and sponged different shades of purple ink onto white cardstock and then cut it out with a triangle die from Reverse Confetti. Then I used the Tile stencil to emboss the background with a rubber mat in my die cutting machine and sponged on some blue ink to highlight the embossing. The butterfly was created with Frosted Violet Aurora Flakes and I added some of my favorite gems from Gina Marie Designs to finish this (and all) my cards.

Another thing you can do with a stencil die cut with a background die is to apply Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo from Therm O Web through it and let that dry until clear. The Duo Gel remains tacky so when you dump Aurora Flakes on it, then rub away the excess as I show in the video, the result is this gorgeous shimmery background! "Love" was cut with a die cut from Sugar Pea Designs and attached on a vellum heart with some Gina Marie Designs gems. 

Another tip I share in the new video is how much I am loving Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue with their choice of tips and ease of use. It drys perfectly clear and I love it for attaching detailed die cuts to my cards.

Video - Designing With Background Die Techniques and Cosmic Shimmer Flakes

I recently received three new background dies from Karen Burniston's new release and some new colors of Cosmic Shimmer Flakes and I have designed 5 cards with them for my newest video. 

My favorite of the three new background dies is the Flowers Pattern Plate and in the video I show how easy it is to make this gorgeous cards with teal and two shades of coral cardstock. The flower is a die from Marisa Job and Spellbinders and I die cut it out of a piece of cardstock with scor-tape on it and show how to apply the Blue Ice Cosmic Shimmer Aurora Flakes to it for the gorgeous shime. Hello is also a die from Karen Burniston and it was applied on a vellum circle so it stands out from the busy background. I added some Gina Marie Designs gems to finish the card. 

In the video I show these cards as examples of two more background techniques: tone on tone and offset. The peach tone on tone card features another sentiment die from Karen Burniston and a pretty Spellbinders flower with black and silver Aurora flakes. The purple card has two layers of the Flowers Pattern Plate offset, a gorgeous purple and silver Aurora Flakes butterfly cut out with a Tim Holtz die, and a layered hello die from Tonic Studios.

More EZ Light Up Cards For Special People of All Ages!

I had so much fun designing with Pear Blossom Press EZ Lights for a video hop and giveaway I am participating in, I made 4 cards with them! Yesterday's cards were for special kids, but the two cards I am blogging today from the video could be used for special people of any age. I chose to light up a lighthouse frame die from Impression Obsession on a background made with Altenew's Galaxy Wide Washi Tape. The waves and rocks were inlaid in the silver frame pieces and I put yellow vellum behind the windows and rays that light up when the "press me" is pushed. It is much prettier in real life so be sure to watch the video to see these cards in action. 

The birthday candles on this card light up and I think the special birthday girl is going to love it! The cake and balloons are sparkly with Gina K Designs/Therm O Web Fancy Foils,  and I also used sentiments from Gina K's Stamp N Foil set called Time to Celebrate.

Cards 4 Dads (From the Kids) OR Anything Goes 4 Kids at Send a Smile 4 Kids!

It’s the first Saturday of a new month and time for another fun challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids! Again this year, all challenges at SAS4Kids are Anything Goes 4 Kids! Pear Blossom Press Light-Up Cards and Giveaway

The two love bugs light up when the button is pushed. I used dies from Tonic Studios, Crealies and Simon Says Stamp on the front of this light up card. And just for fun, look at what happens when the ladybug "pull here" tab is pulled:

Another ladybug pops up to delight the recipient! I used Karen Burniston's Surprise Ball Pop Up Die Set to make this pop up ladybug.
