Video- Spring and Easter Pop Up Cards with New Karen Burniston Dies

I just received the new Spring release of dies from Karen Burniston and had so much fun designing pop up cards with them for my newest video here.

I think my favorite of the new dies is the Woven Basket Box Card, and in the video I show how easy it is to make this cute Easter basket that folds flat to mail. I filled my Easter basket with jelly beans, Easter eggs, chocolate Easter bunnies and the Happy Easter sentiment all from the new Easter Charms die set. Here is another view and you can see someone took a bite out of that chocolate Easter bunny in the front.

Too cute! And so easy to make with this new die set from Karen Burniston! Be sure to check back here and watch the video here for more cute and easy pop up cards anyone would love to receive!

(Edited to add: if you watched the video before 8:30 p.m. Monday the 11th, I apologize for the upside down portion. It has been corrected and the new links in this blog post will take you to the upside right version. Blame it on too much snow here making me all mixed up.)

Is It Spring Yet?

I am so ready for Spring! I am designing with spring colors and new spring dies and hoping for warmer days so I can send this "Happy Spring" card to someone! I just received the new Concord and 9th Faceted Turnabout Stencils and new dies from Karen Burniston and I played with them this week. The turnabout stencils are so easy to use. I sponged the first way with blue, then turned and did pink and purple inks. On the 4th turn, I applied Therm O Web Transfer Gel and after it dried, ran it through my Minc machine with Gina K/Therm O Web Glorious Green foil. Foil is so difficult to photogragh, but IRL it it sparkles with little stars.

The layered "Happy Spring" on the front and this darling little chick are new Karen Burniston dies. I die cut the egg out of a stenciled and foiled scrap. The chick is from a Karen Burniston set called Spring Animals and Happy Spring is available here.

Last Winter Card?

While housebound last week with the windchill around 50 degrees below zero, I played in my room with some dies and products I hadn't designed with before putting them away. This card was made with a new snowflake background die from Gina Marie Designs as well as some new wider washi tape from Alexandra Reinke. The background die has snowflake ribbons across the bottom too, but I cut them off to the pretty washi tape scene would show. I added some gems in different sizes also from Gina Marie Designs to complete the card.

Now I am moving on to butterflies and flowers and spring images, and I hope our weather is headed that way too.

Fight Like a Girl Encouragement Card with New Favorite Dies

While housebound last week due to unbelievably frigid temperatures here in Wisconsin, I had fun playing with many of my new dies. This breast cancer encouragement card was made with a new set of scalloped squares dies from Crealies as well as the boxing gloves from Cheapo Dies. I layered 4 layers of the pretty scalloped squares raising each one on foam squares for dimension. The perfect stamp set is from Skipping Stone Designs and I used it in the inside of the card too:

Awesome Interactive Ninja Card for a Special Kid

I know kids love interactive cards and in my newest YouTube video I show how to make this ninja move back and forth on the channel. The video is part of a new Die Cut Crazy series and this week's is focusing on cards for kids. I used dies from Motion Crafts and  Karen Burniston as well as stamps from Altenew and Motion Crafts.

The ninja moves back and forth on the channel and I show how easy that is to achieve in the video here.

Video - Die Cut Crazy Series - Cards for Kids with Dies

There is a new series and video on my YouTube channel today and in it I admit I am a die cut addict and am not looking for an intervention any time soon. The kids I know love interactive bright cards and I share the three in the picture above in the video. My favorite of the three is the Love Train card because the hearts dance and move when the tab is pulled!

I am a huge fan of Motion Crafts interactive stamps and dies and if you watch the video here, you see the hearts dance and how easy it is to make this card, and have an interactive moving section on your card.

The first time I saw the new Love Train dies from Penny Black I ordered it immediately because my grandson just loves trains!

Here he is driving a train in the Dells and he was shouting "All Aboard!" The alphabet set I used to say that is from Jade Blossom, and the stamp and grid are from Motion Crafts.

On the inside I said "love you" with dies from Impression Obsession and Honey Bee Stamps. To see how to make this card and more kids cards with my favorite dies, watch the new video here.

Easter or Spring Cards 4 Kids OR Anything Goes 4 Kids at Send a Smile 4 Kids

It’s Saturday and time for another fun challenge here at Send a Smile 4 Kids! Again this year, all challenges at SAS4Kids are Anything Goes 4 Kids! We will often have an alternative theme that you can choose to follow, but are not required to. Create and link any card that is appropriate for a child and your card could be chosen as one of our top three cards and you could join us as a guest dt member on a future challenge. We are also changing to a monthly challenge so new challenges will be posted on the first Saturday of every month and you will have a whole month to make and link your cards.

The theme for this challenge is: Easter or Spring Cards 4 Kids OR Anything Goes 4 Kids.

I can’t wait for Spring!! Temperatures above zero would be so nice for a change! I created a bright cheerful spring card for this challenge using new dies from Lil’ Inker (the bunny and “Spring”) and a floral background die from Gina Marie Designs. The upside down bunny idea was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest using this same Lil’ Inker die.

Be sure to check out the rest of the cards from TEAM SAS here and we would love it if you entered our challenge.
