Butterfly Sympathy Cards With Dies...to Die For Dies

Last September there was a release at Dies...To Die For at ShopScrapbook101.com that included the gorgeous butterflies and awareness ribbon I used on both of my cards today. September is Suicide Awareness month, and aqua blue and purple are the colors for that cause. My family and the family of Stacey, the owner of DTDF have known the deep grief of that loss and I made these cards to bring awareness to #StopTheStigma. Here is a look at the inside of this card:

I made an accordion pop up on the inside after watching a tutorial here. I used butterflies from the Butterfly set from the September 2020 release and all the sentiments you see are available here at ShopScrapbook101.com.

I used the same dies but created a very different look with this square version of a joy fold card with half and half teal and purple patterned paper. I added enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs to all my butterflies. Here is the joy fold partially open and then the inside of this card:

More Shaker Cards with New Clear Designer Toner Sheets and Toner Card Fronts from My Newest Video

One of my favorite type of cards to make is shaker cards and they are even more awesome when the acetate has an awesome foiled pattern on it! I think my all time favorite color of Deco Foil is Brutus Monroe's Rain Glow Foil because it has all the colors of the rainbow and sparkly stars in it! I show this card and many other shaker cards in my newest video here. The shaker frame was die cut with the Wooden Frame die from Dies...to Die For at ShopScrapbook101.com and the sparkler and fireworks inside as well as the perfect sentiment dies are also from them. Here is a peak at another fun DTDF die on the inside of the card also foiled with a new Toner Card Front.

To see all the fun shaker movement in these cards, you are going to want to watch the new video here.

I show in the video how to get 2 different colors of foil onto the 2nd generation or negative use of the new Card Front Toner Sheets. The Tablet and Smart Phone (dies from Dies...to Die For) on this slimline card were made with Brutus Monroe's Rainglow and Silver Static Foil (from Deco Foil and Therm O Web.) The tablet is a shaker with silver foiled Lots of Dots Clear Designer Toner Sheet and here is a picture of the shaker all shook up:

I created a see through shaker on this card with a Basic Star die from Dies...to Die For and Starry Nights Clear Designer Toner Sheets from Therm O Web. I applies Silver Glitz Glitter Gel through a galaxy stencil from The Crafter's Workshop. Here is what the inside of the card looks like:

That star is again double foiled with my favorite rainbow and silver sketch foil and the clear sticker sentiments are from Stamplorations.

To see all my cards with the new Toner Card fronts in clear, kraft and white and also in slimline sizes, watch the new video here.

Video - Slimline and Shaker Cards with Clear, Kraft and White Toner Card Fronts

Deco Foil and Therm O Web have just released brand new Toner Card Fronts and Clear Toner Sheets in slimline and A2 sizes and in my newest video I share many fun fold and shaker cards made with them. The new Toner Card Fronts and Clear Toner Sheets have patterns on them that foil will stick to for gorgeous foiled backgrounds as I show in the new video. Here is the fun fold wedding shaker card I show how to make in the video:

This card is a Lock and Pop fun fold that I learned how to make here on Mixed Up Crafts. I show how to do the foiling with the new Love Blooms Toner Card Fronts and how to make the fun fold which tucks under the heart shaker and then opens up like this:

Each piece of the front and inside of this fun fold card has a strip of gorgeous pink or red Gina K Designs sparkly fancy foil. The acetate on the heart is also foiled with the Love Blooms pattern. The Layered Torn Hearts dies are from Dies...to Die For and "always" is a die from Tonic Studios. The card is much easier to see in the video here.

Here is another fun fold romantic card I made with the new Kraft Love Blooms Toner Card Fronts and Radiant Red Gina K Designs foil. The sentiment die is from Dies..to Die For cut out of a white Love Blooms toner card front layered on a vellum oval so it stands out. The fun fold part is on the inside of this card:

I learned how to do the W Fun Fold here from this tutorial. The layered alphabet (Hannah's Alphabet Varsity) dies are also from Dies...to Die For and cut out of the  foiled squares for the eclipse look.

Another set of Toner Card Fronts in Kraft and slimline I show in the video is called Lots Of Dots. I share in the video how to add foil to the Toner Card Front (in this case Brutus Monore's Dry Brush foil) and then use what is left of the foil on a Black Toner Sheet (also from Deco Foil and Therm O Web) to create the card front you see here. None of that awesome foil is wasted when using this technique! I created a shaker in the center of this masculine slimline card with the Slimline Branch Frame from Dies...To Die For. The shaker window has the same Lots of Dots foiled pattern which makes the shaker so much more fun! Here is a look at the inside of this card for my grandson.

To see all the cards I made with the new Toner Card Fronts and Clear Designer Toner Sheets from Deco Foil and Therm O Web, watch the new video here.

More Distressed Foil 2 and 3 Sided Tag Slider Cards From My Newest Video

I had so much fun making distressed foil tag slider cards for my newest video with Crealies 2 or 4 Sided Tag Slider Dies. The fun distressed foil look on the front of this little square card was created so easily with wrinkled foils and a sticky 2 sided adhesive sheet on cardstock as I show in the video. But the best part is when the top and bottom tag ends are pulled:

The super fun mushroom sentiments and sunglasses on this card are from Jaded Blossom. This card has a third tag which is lifted to show this fun inside sentiment and image also from Jaded Blossom:

I had a vision of a gift card sliding out from the tag slider and I had to adjust the cover piece and the lengths of the tags, but it was not hard to do. Here is the card I came up with:

I used a combination of the Rainglow  and Gold Static foil from Brutus Monroe and Therm O Web on the front in the distressed foil technique. "Celebrate" is a die from Tonic Studios and the layered letter dies are from Dies...To Die For. Of course this card is even more fun when the tags are pulled:

A gift card is revealed as well as an "enjoy" which is a die from Karen Burniston. So as you can see, this 2 or 4 Sided Tag Slider Die Set can be used in many different ways to make 2, 3 or 4 sided sliders as well as a gift card slider. And as I also show in the new video, the distressed foil technique makes sparkly unique backgrounds easily for cards of any kind. I hope these cards and techniques encourage you to watch the video and give them a try!

Video - How To Make Interactive Tag Slider Cards With Distressed Foil Beauty

I love to try new interactive dies and techniques with foil and in my newest video I share those two loves in the cards I show. This is the card I make from start to finish in the video:

The foil on the front of this and all my cards sparkles but in a very interesting distressed way! I show in the video how that foiled look is achieved very easily without heat. Even better, look what happens with the tag ends are pulled on:

I made all my interactive foiled cards for this video with Crealies 2 or 4 Sided Tag Slider Dies and show in the video how easy it is to make the interactive tags slide out to reveal secret messages and images. The Easter chick and sentiment dies are from Karen Burniston. "Big hugs" is from Cutplorations (as is the sentiment on the back shown below.) The white and pink bunnies were created with dies from Impression Obsession.

The distressed foil look on all these cards is so easy to achieve as I show in the video. You simply apply a piece of two sided adhesive sheet (I use my favorite Easy Cut Adhesive from iCraft and Therm O Web), wrinkle up a piece of foil (here is my favorite Rainglow from Brutus Monroe and Deco Foil) and press down on the adhesive sheet with the pretty side up. You can mix several colors as I did on the first card above with sparkly purple, pink and gold foils, or choose a foil that changes color like this rainbow Rainglow foil. The balloon dies are also from Crealies. Here is this slimline card with the tags pulled out to reveal the secret messages inside:

I had such fun with this new distressed foil technique and making two, three and four sided tag slider cards as I show in the new video. I I hope my cards encourage you to give the technique and products featured a try!

More Woven Heart Cards From My Newest Video

I admit I am die cut crazy and in my latest video from my Die Cut Crazy video series, I am featured Altenew's Woven Heart die and their debossing background dies along with their wide washi tape. When the heart is woven, sometimes the cardstock tore and I found by attaching the wide washi tape, the cardstock was more flexible and didn't tear. The fact the wide wash tape has gorgeous colorful patterns on it was another plus as well.

It is a little hard to see in the photograph, but the background on all my cards in the new video is debossed with a lovely subtle texture with Altenew's debossing cover dies. The scripty sentiment die is from Tonic Studios.

This floral heart card was created with Altenew's Glitter Flurries wide washi tape on white cardstock which was then debossed with their Dotted Lines debossing cover die. I also cut out some flowers from the wide washi tape and wove the heart with more of the washi tape pieces and purple mirror card. The gems on this card are my favorites from Gina Marie Designs.

I had fun weaving hearts and designing cards with these awesome dies and hope my cards inspire you to give some of these products a try and to watch the new video here.

Die Cut Crazy Video Series - Altenew Woven Heart, Wide Washi Tape and Pinpoint Background Dies

I am die cut crazy and love to find new dies and design with them to create gorgeous cards. My newest die cut finds are the Woven Heart Die Set and Dotted Lines Debossing Cover Die from Altenew and I feature them in my newest video here along with Altenew's wide washi tape.

This is the slimline card I show how to make in the new video. I show how to weave the woven heart and then how to make this card. The debossed background adds a very subtle but lovely texture to all the cards I share. "Forever" is a die from Cutplorations and this wide washi tape from Altenew is called Gilded Greenery. Here is a look at the inside of this card:

I debossed the heart die cut (older die from Moda Scrap) and added a strip of the washi tape along the bottom of the card.

I created this "hello" card with another woven heart die and iridescent green mirror card from Tonic Studios. The debossed leafy background die on this card is from Memory Box and the layered hello die is from Tonic Studios. The flowers on the top of this card are another product from Altenew called vibrant Spray Die Cut Tape and are already cut out for ease of application.

To see more cards with the Woven Heart die and how easy these cards are to make, watch the new video here.

It's the first Saturday of the month and time for a new challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids. This month our theme is Easter or Spring Cards 4 Kids OR Anything Goes 4 Kids.

I made a pop up box card for Easter with the Scrappy Tails A7 Pop Up Box Die and many other adorable Easter dies from Karen Burniston. Here is another view of the pop up box card:

Angle Pop Up Wine Lovers Card For the February Challenge at Crafty Chefs

I belong to a Facebook monthly challenge group where we are given a "recipe" of items to include in our card. The group is called Crafty Chefs and is very low pressure- make a card anytime using the recipe and share it. It is a good way to challenge ourselves to try something new and we are always looking for new members, so check it out here and consider joining us for some crafty fun!

Our required elements this month are fun fold, stamped image, pink and purple color combo and patterned paper. The optional items are embossing folder, doily and flowers. I used a new Altenew embossing folder on the purple mirror card (from Tonic) on this Angle Pop Up fun fold card. This fold is new to me and I learned how to do it from Dawn Griffith here. The cute wine loving chick is a stamp from Taylored Expressions and I paper pieced her with some patterned paper. The fun pop up part is in the inside:

The side of the card pops up and I attached a wine bottle to it. The wine bottle and glass were cut with dies from My Favorite Things and the "Cheers" is a die from Cutplorations. Here is a better look at the funny sentiment from Taylored Expressions:
