Wish Big Birthday Card with Concord & 9th Turnabout Stencil

I have been playing with new turnabout stencils and stamps from Concord & 9th and am sharing one of the cards I made today. I am in the mood for springy colors so I sponged each turn of the stencil with green, blue, pink and orange. On the last color, I also sponged with Versamark and added some sparkly gold embossing powder from Stampendous. I layered the colorful card front on a black card and added "Wish Big" from Papertrey Ink.

The Happy Birthday greeting on the inside is my favorite from Karen Burniston and I punched some birthday candles out of the colorful stenciled paper. 

Wedding Card with the Snowdrop Edger Die from Creative Expressions

I had so much fun designing with the beautiful Snowdrop Edger die from Creative Expressions that I made four very different cards with it for my newest video here. The video is part of my new series on YouTube showing how to stretch our cardmaking dollars by using our dies in four different ways. 

This wedding card was made by diecutting the Snowdrop Edger die out of the right side of a larger square cardbase made with blue marble cardstock from Park Lane at Joann's Fabric. The back of the cardstock is white, so I added a navy blue layer to the inside so the gorgeous diecut edge is highlighted. I added a punched heart and layered "Mr. and Mrs." from Honey Bee Stamps.

Two More Creative Expressions Snowdrop Edger Cards

I am loving the positives and negatives of the Creative Expressions Snowdrop Edger die and had fun making four very different cards with it for my latest YouTube video here. For this one I simply cut the die out of white cardstock and attached it to a cardbase made with Park Lane marble green cardstock from Joann's Fabric. I added a strip of the pretty marbled cardstock and some pearls to complete the front of this card. I made this card a sympathy card with a layered die from Gina Marie Designs as shown here: 

I die cut the Snowdrop Edger die from the front and back of this card and added a sentiment from Karen Burniston on the front and inside as shown here:

I am hoping the 4 different cards made with the same die in my video here inspire you to try some different ways to use the dies you own.

Video - Four Creative Expressions Cards with the Same Die

Dies and other cardmaking supplies can get expensive and most of us do not have unlimited budgets, so I have started a new YouTube series showing how to stretch your supplies by making four cards with the same die. Today's new video here features the Creative Expressions Snowdrop Edger die by Cathie Shuttleworth. I love the positives and negatives of this edger die and had fun designing 4 very different cards with this gorgeous die.

The "celebrate big" was cut with a die from Stamplorations and the "happy birthday" die is from Karen Burniston. The floral heavy weight cardstock is by Park Lane from Joann Fabrics.

Creative Expressions Edger Dies Cards

I recently purchased two of the Creative Expressions edger dies and am loving the positive and negative sides of these pretty dies. I used the Hollyhock Edger die on both the cards I am sharing today. The first one I made in black and white for a lovely easy thinking of you card. I simply die cut the edger die out of a piece of white cardstock and attached it to a black A2 cardbase. The sentiments on each of these cards are from Karen Burniston.

It is so easy to make a gorgeous card with these edger dies from Creative Expressions! I made this one with a deep red cardstock over a gold glitter paper. I added some gems from Gina Marie Designs and a sentiment from Karen Burniston.

Happy Birthday Floral Woven Basket Card

 

In my new video that went live this week featuring Karen Burniston's new release of dies, I showed how easy it was to make this woven basket box card, but I didn't fill it in the video. The previous woven basket card I made into an Easter basket and here is a link to that card in case you missed it. I decided since I had the basket part already made, to go ahead and fill it with flowers for a Happy Birthday card for a dear friend.

In addition to the flowers in the Woven Basket Box Card die set, I used flowers from the Flower Pot Pop Up and a favorite Happy Birthday die all from Karen Burniston. Here is a look at the flowers close up:

I used polka-dotted and colored cardstock for the flowers and added a gem from Gina Marie Designs to each one. The taller elements were raised on strips of strong acetate. This card is so bright and cheerful it almost makes me forget how cold and snowy Wisconsin is right now. 

If I Keep Posting Spring Cards, Will Spring Come Sooner?

While it has been too cold and snowy to leave the house here in Wisconsin, I have been keeping myself warm by designing fun pop up cards with the dies from Karen Burniston's newest release. I made the front of this card bright and springy with some of the new dies as well as a couple older release dies. But as usual with Karen's dies, the best part is when the recipient opens the card and this pops out:

I created this fun pop out with the new Oval Frames Pop Up set and I show how I made it in my newest video here. Here is another view of the inside to show how I personalized the card for my grandson using alphabet dies from Jade Blossom.

I am loving the new Party Border Blends die set and used it to decorate the sides of the inside of the card and also wove two together on the top of the card front.
